Spent 3 nights in July at this beautiful place. The rooms are nothing to write home about, but everything works and the bathroom was clean and modern. The air-conditioning worked a treat :-). The best thing about this place is the pool and surroundings. Beautiful! The food in the restaurant is also very good, and the service is excellent.

We had a most relaxing few days, the pool is large and the gardens afford plenty of room for a number of families to all enjoy the feeling of space and a tranquil few days, while using the hotel as a perfect base for trips to Noto, Siracuse, and the beaches at Oasi di Vendicari. The tennis court was in excellent condition, and we played despite the heat hiring all the gear. An impromptu lunch at 2.00pm is no problem, if you are staying for dinner then book as the kitchen is small. We will return.

Room Tip: ground floor family room had terrace of its own with seating outside and a useful rack to dry swimming gear.

From the moment we arrived at this gorgeous Masseria, we were entranced. Set amongst olive groves with beautiful views, the rooms were lovely, and there is no nicer way to end a day of sightseeing than having a swim in the large pool! Each room has its own little table and chairs outside the door to sit and read or have a pre dinner drink. We ate on the restaurant terrace the two nights we were there, and it was worth it. Food was sensational and the waiter was always smiling. Car parking area is large and convenient. Could easily stay for longer. Maybe next time!

Masseria degli Ulivi is an enchanting haunt about 25 kms from the town of Noto. I spent three days there in July. It is ideal for those seeking a peaceful idyllic retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The surrounding olive groves and the charming layout of this property make it very welcoming. The staff are pleasant and always ready to help. The fare provided by the main restaurant (we had dinner twice in the evening) is excellent and the service is good. We also enjoyed a very pleasant bottle or two of local wine. The breakfast is uninspiring but very satisfactory. Some of the pastries really good but the selection of cold meat and cheese was, in my view, a little limited.
All in all this location is to be recommended. Tranquillity is the first word that comes to mind in connection with the beautiful Masseria.

Room Tip: Wi-fi is not available in the rooms. According to the receptionist this is deliberately so. There is modest connection in the common areas... restaurant, reception, lounge etc.

The Masseria is in a wonderfully tranquil rural setting, very usefully situated for visiting Noto (and Noto Antica), Pantalica Natural Reserve, Syracuse and other towns such as Palazzolo Acreide. It is just off the road (SS287) between Noto and Palazzolo (there is a small signpost at the turning), but it is very easy to get lost in Noto - there is no high quality town plan like Global Map's ones for, say, Ragusa, Modica or Agrigento. The hotel and grounds are beautifully laid out, with a simple elegance that is very pleasing. Our room (a superior one) was large and comfortable; everything was clean and in good working order. Breakfasts and dinners were consistently good (we stayed a week, which attracted a discount). The infinity pool is large and well sited. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there is an atmosphere of smooth-running efficiency.
