Nice hotel if you like walking on the beach and don't mind to drive in Sicily. Friendly staff and relaxing stay guaranteed.
Be patient when try to find this hotel-look at signs carefully and do not turn on to one way road!

Room Tip: Ask for room with sea view

Although difficult to find, this hotel was very good. Our room was clean and comfortable. Parking was adequate and the area around the hotel was scenic with a beach about 20 or so yards from the hotel entrance. Our rate included dinner which was very good. The pool was in good shape with plenty of lounges. We were unable to get the internet to work. Our biggest problem was just finding the place. The address provided was worthless to our GPS (Garmin, just updated with European maps). And when we called, the staff was unable to provide much in the way of directions. We had to stop and ask for directions and finally eventually happened upon the back of the hotel. Once found, there did seem to be a few bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: 3rd floor balconies are not as not as nice as 2nd floor.

Arrived at 10pm with confirmation in hand, to be told we had no booking and the hotel was full. After what seemed like hours, they suddenly said they would take us to another hotel ( at their cost) and to return the following day for the remainder of our trip. No apology given but complimentary lunch and dinner offered. It was late so we accepted reluctantly as we needed somewhere to stay.
The following day we returned and carried on with our mini break. The beds are ridiculously hard so neither of us slept. The food in the restaurant is good but very limited choice- in fact it was the same menu for both lunch and dinner.
The following day we disturbed by housekeeping at 9.15am and this then followed on with maintenance in the room next door doing repairs either power tools. We decided that this was not our idea of a relaxing break and opted to leave a day early.
When checking out we explained why and all they could do was shrug their shoulders.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel as the beach is not very nice

I disagree completely with some of the other reviews. For what you pay this hotel is amazing. Lovely pool, right on the beach and the restaurant in the evening serves really lovely food. Vincenzo, who spoke amazing English went out of his way to help us during our stay. I would definitely stay again if I wanted to visit this part of Sicily again. Very good for a relaxing break by the sea. Only downside - I wish it served lunch.

This hotel suffers from or exploits the fact that most people probably stay at most two nights as a base to explore Agrigento. Is location is in fact not very convenient except for a walk along the shore to the Scala dei Turchi. It presents well enough but a little of the surface glitter in the lobby and restaurant reinvested in the rooms would help. Our room for two was very badly designed and we spent the tie tripping over each other. There was a small balcony with a view of the pool, which was shut up despite the weather being warm and sunny in mid May. The safe in our room was locked and despite a promise to fix it, it stated unusable. The toilet flusher was broken and reattached with Sellotape. The shower was also broken and had to be held by hand. Reporting made no difference: 'we are full'. Food in the glitzy restaurant was mediocre well matched by the service. Choice at breakfast was limited and supplies f staples not replenished. NAll in all a nasty experience.

Room Tip: Don't bother.

Pleasant Hotel, despite being out of season and the restaurant being closed. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Room was fine and clean. The view from our balcony was splendid, and the sunsets from the south to SW facing room were spectacular. Wifi in the hotel was available for the majority of time except for a brief break during poor weather., although it was not strong in our room, so we mainly used in in the lobby. Pleasant walks around the hotel as well and the walk to Scala dei Turchi was well worth while. We were there four nights and used the Golden Palace restaurant which is five minutes walk from teh hotel. Good night on Saturdays when the local have a live band and dancing, we were made welcome.

We arrived at the hotel from Aci Trezza near Catania where we had stayed at the very excellent Lachea Hotel. We had trouble finding the Hotel Villa Romano as the directions don't mention where to exit the main road or that the road leading down to the hotel, Via Mediterranee is one way and that you must go to the end of the road, double back on the parallel road then take the first right on to the sea front to find the hotel.
We arrived quite late and didn't want to go out for dinner so we had dinner in the hotel. Expensive: Euro 58 for the two of us. My first course was mussels and was excellent but the second course, breaded pork was inedible because it was too tough. My wife thought that her meal was good. Drinks were expensive. the service was slow and the waiter who served us, and again for breakfast, looked as though he was serving a life sentence rather than customers.
Breakfast was a buffet and quite extensive and good, although the miserable waiter was a bit of a downer.
The location is good behind the beach looking towards the ferry port across the bay but there is a much better beach round the corner.
The acid test: would I go back there? probably not.
