While staying at the castle (Castello delle Quattro Torra - fantastic place to stay), we spent a terrific evening with Nonna Ciana and Valeria learning authentic Tuscan cooking techniques. The class was small, personal, and most of all, very fun. We learned how to make several items, of which the highlight was homemade Tagliatelle (without the use of a pasta machine). Since returning to the US, we have been able to successfully reproduce the results we achieved in Italy.
Nonna and Valeria are a true delight. Very pleasant and fun personality. This class was one of the highlights of our trip and every time we make homemade pasta, we will remember our wonderful experience here.

Thank you for the great review. Delighted that you are still making tagliatelle and other Italian goodies back home in Carolina- shows you are really good students! Hope to see you again and cook up some new recipes together. The Cooking Class Team

This Farmhouse is just minutes from the Highway and is centrally located about 18 minutes drive from Sienna. We used the GPS Coordinates N 43 18' 52.62" and E 11 26' 16.30". After you reach this point keep driving another minute up the road and turn at the 1st right. You will see the sign and the dirt road. The farmhouse is a beautiful building, quiet and private with the picturesque Tuscan countryside all around. The suite itself was very large with a kitchenette and bedroom but quite small bathroom. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Nicola is a wonderful and gracious host, but be warned, there is no English spoken here. The breakfast in the morning was in the dining room on the ground level of the building. It was a delicious Italian style breakfast. Highly recommended and we would certainly stay at this location again.

We learned authentic Tuscan cooking from a real Italian grandma? Le Pietre Vive is the place for you! We spent one wonderful and memorable night with Nonna Ciana (farmhouse owner, Nicola's mother) learning basics and tips of authentic Tuscan cooking from them! The handmade tagliatelle and chicken marsala Nonna Ciana taught us to make were wonderful. The farmhouse was spacious and had beautiful views only 10 minutes away from Siena but felt so far away. The bathroom had a tub and shower which was also nice. Recommend and would stay here again!!

We stayed at the apartment at Le Pietre Vive di Montaperti and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The apartment was immaculate & perfect and the owner (Nicola) and staff were wonderful hosts. The property is just lovely. The cooking class with Nona Ciana was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy. We enjoyed the other families participating and learning to make the pasta was great fun. Nonna was such a joy we called her "our Italian mother". We felt very much at home & would recommend this experience to anyone.
