The Fattoria Le Pietre Vive di Montaperti is an absolute gem...we loved it! From the peace and tranquility offered by the wonderful farmhouse and the Tuscan countryside to the fantastic cooking classes given by Nonna Ciana - the experience was amazingly memorable! Additionally, the truffle hunt with dogs is a must! As a person who spends lots of time in the woods with dogs and hunting for wild mushrooms as a separate hobby, I can say authoritatively that the guide and his dogs were amazing! Also, the Fattoria is very accessible to Siena...about a 10 minute drive. And for those of you who want to be in the middle Siena, then find a place in the middle of Siena. But know that you are missing out on something special here. We can't wait to return!
