We visited the restaurant Antica Posta in our recent vacation. I found the athmosphere in the restaurant not as nice as for instance in the restaurant Nello nearby. But the pizza in this place was good and the prices are fair. It was recommended later to us as good for fish and sea food but I can´t say anything about that.

I did not have high hopes for this place, which 6 of us stumbled upon one night when we were driving through and needed dinner somewhere. From the kitschy seafood display at the entrance to a bland seafood appetizer that was compliments of the house, it looked like it would be disappointing. But my husband and I shared the seafood spaghetti dinner for two (minimum) with shrimp, mussels and clams, and it was to die for! The rich flavoring of the dish was absolutely wonderful. I don't know about the rest of the menu, but we were well pleased. My brother-in-law said the same of his plate of spaghetti with mussels.

Nice place, good service. Food was menza-menz (so-so). A little bit over priced for what you get. Spaghetti was just ordinary, vegetable dish was dried out and lacked flavor. You can get much better pizza in town. Waiters were pleasant and atmosphere was nice. Now it just needs better food.

Just off the main street, we could easily have missed it. We arrived at the restaurant slightly ahead of their opening time, but we were welcomed in and settled down with some wine and fresh Tuscan bread, salt (Tuscan bread isn't salted), olive oil etc. The decor was delightful and unusual, a lot of personal touches. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, good prices, and at 10 euros for a litre carafe of house white, you can't go wrong.

We have eaten here twice, so we like it. The town of San Casciano is non-touristy, so that is a plus. Nice to stroll after dinner. Very good food, the seafood combo pasta was great. Service was also good. Get away from the tourist areas and see how the locals live.
