I was looking for a comfortable, but authentic feeling Tuscan inn. It looks like quaint stone farmstead buildings transformed into an idealic inn. The reception was warm and inviting. We checked into our clean, spacious room with high ceilings, with the most delightful breeze coming in the window (yes - they do have A/C as well). Then headed down to the dining area and ordered a bottle of prosecco, which they promptly served on the outdoor dining terrace (and included at no charge a small plate of fresh tomatoes and cheese). There are flowers everywhere, and the scent of the place is intoxicating. There are groves of beautiful olive trees and rows and rows of vineyard in the valley behind the inn. The lounge chairs around the pool area are all situated to face the vineyards for a most delightful, relaxing view. We took books out to the lounging chairs and dozed and read while the breeze rustled through the olive trees. It was the most relaxed I have been in some time! There are rarely experiences that I would repeat exactly, as I feel there is just too much world to see. However, I would return to Salvadonica in a heart beat and repeat this experience. Book without hesitation.

Dear Christy,

We are very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us with your daughter.

The end phrase of your review "book without hesitation" is a very good suggestion for our Guests and for all those who want to spend a relaxing holiday in Chianti.

What a great place to stay in Tuscany. I would recommend Salvadonica to anyone wishing to explore this wonderful and picturesque area. The views were amazing and although peaceful it was situated perfectly for exploring the surrounding area and just a short drive to Florence and Pisa. We stayed while attending a wedding and I traveled with my two sons and daughter in law. Our rooms were fantastic and the staff could not do enough to make our stay really great. I would love to go back and I would definitely stay at the Salvadonica.

Salvadonica is centrally located in Tuscany within easy reach of the Chianti hill towns as well as its major cities. Beatrice and Francesca have created a paradise here, wonderful rooms, meals and surroundings. Their staff is very friendly, competent and helpful. The restaurant, Volpanera, serves excellent meals with views that are spectacular. We have been coming here for many years and the place continues to improve with each visit. Bravi !!!

We were only able to spend two nights at Salvadonica, but they were superb. The relais includes a number of beautifully appointed, stone buildings overlooking a spectacular valley with vineyards, olive trees and Tuscan estates spread below. The food was delicious and quite reasonably priced. The wine list is not extensive, but it is very good and very reasonable. Salvadonica's own wines are particularly worth noting and are available gratis in the afternoon and evening, while listening to the birds, enjoying the lovely grounds and watching the shadows fall over the hillsides. A memorable place to unwind and restore.

Facts:

1) it's near Firenzi so it has a touch of farm-birds-wine-practical for you to wake up with an amazing view and go to other places. But if you're considering to dinner and wake up to have a breakfast in Firenzi it's not that close. It's about to 40-40 minutes by car in the entrance of the city and from there it's more 20 minutes by bus
2) the breakfast and the food it's like every Italian regular place: very good (not awesome in this place)
3) the hotel it's old but very well conserved

So if you're considering to have a place where you're looking to go and discover Tuscany by yourself this could be a very good and strategic place to be!
