“A true Tuscan experience”
Reviewed 20 July 2013 via mobile

We recently enjoyed three nights at SAV. Just do not come here thinking its like a 5 star hotel.
We found the reception after assistance from locals. The drive from Florence was easy. The ladies who run the villas are lovely and helpful.
After checking in we were escorted the one kilometer to our villa. They are rustic, comfortable and the views are fantastic.
We went to local markets (an adventure in itself) and cooked for ourselves each night. The kitchen is very basic but we managed. It might have been good to have done staples supplied. Eg: salt, pepper, fly spray. We went and bought a tea towel.
There was a pool that was apparently also used by people staying at neighboring villas, so sometimes it was a bit crowded.
Our quibbles are the water in the shower - the hot ran out in very quickly, and there was no hot water in the kitchen sink. However, overall we enjoyed the experience.
They also do a free winery tour and tasting once per week. We found it most worthwhile.

The rooms are quite big and nice. Excellent with free wine on the room. Our room with a terrace was incredible. The personnel are really nice and helpful. No breakfast, buy fruit in Sambuca.

There is not much to do in the area, Sambuca for example is quite sleepy - but the only pizzeria was OK. But if you are here you MUST go to Cantina Antinory (book your tour ahead). This wine producer with incredible facilities was the reason for our Tuscany trip!

Room Tip: Pick the room with terrace.

This villa is high on a hill set amongst vineyards and olive groves with magnificent views around the countryside. Great little villages just a short drive from the villa with markets selling all fresh and locally grown produce as well as clothing and homewares. Each village holds a market on a different day of the week so if you love markets you won't miss out.

This villa is owned by two young Italian women who do a fantastic job and nothing was too much trouble.

There is a pool set in a lovely garden.

If you're craving the true Tuscan countryside, look no further! The villas are set in amidst the vineyards and olive groves and offer stunning views. Each villa is isolated enough to give you plenty of privacy while close enough to nearby towns to offer plenty of options for sightseeing or dining (only 30 mins from Florence). Plus the staff are amazing, I booked the entire place out for my wedding and Martina at reception was like my second wedding planner! Especially great if you have a large group as you can book individual apartments for the privacy but the pool and shared main room and outdoor area offer plenty of opportunities for being together. Loved it.

Thank you!I'm very happy to receive your kind message. Organizing a wedding is complicated and I'm very pleased to know that I was useful to your organisation! Your wedding planner was very good and I'm glad to know Villa S. Andrea was an important positive part of the whole event.
For me and the staff the most important result is to remain in the heart and good memories of our guests!A presto!

We stayed in the farmhouse with swimming pool. The apartments are spacious, comfortable and clean. The views are fantastic. The swimming pool was still very cold in April, but we were allowed to use it. Very refreshing!
We were on foot and there were no restaurants closeby. They proposed us to invite a cook who came to cook for us. For €30/person we were offered a terrific 4-course dinner.
Very nice and helpful staff.

We found the villa no probs with the GPS and then the staff showed us to our apartment on another part of the property. Lovely huge apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Small but servicable kitchenette. Small bar style fridge. Loved the pool, views rooms. The wine tasting was fabulous and very informative. This is a little isolated, but we loved the seclusion. The 3km gravel road was ok if taken slow for fear of damage to our rental. But it is a country setting and the gravel road is all apart of that. We saw deer and wild boars on our way up and down the road. Lovely relaxing atmosphere!!

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights on the last leg of a 2 week trip to Europe. The staff, Marika and Martina were wonderful. They both speak near perfect English and are both extremely knowledgeable about the area (including all the local restaurants, and directions to tourist attractions). We requested the room with the terrace in the main building and it was spectacular! The view of the Tuscan countryside from up there is amazing. We did the wine cellar tour/tasting and would recommend it. We also tried a lot of the different local restaurants, but La Cantinetta di Rignana was by far our favorite (try the Bistecca alla Fiorentina).
We got a GPS with our car rental, which REALLY helped, although it did take us on one or two indirect routes (but that's part of the fun). The Villa is very close after exiting from the major highway and there are signs on the road directing you to the Villa. If you take back country roads like we did, it's a little more difficult to find.
We were both delighted with our stay, and can't wait to go back. It definitely exceeded our expectations!
