“Classic and fantastic!”
Reviewed 17 November 2010

Stayed here while attending a friend's wedding at Villa il Poggiale nearby. Couldn't afford to stay out there solo (roommate canceled trip), so I found this as a less-expensive alternative. Loved the fact that Elisa had just redone the place, but it had a retro feel to it. And she (and her parents, who filled in for her while she was away) couldn't have been nicer! Room was very nice and comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and location was great (right in the middle of town). Very much recommended!

We came to San Casciano with a friends to a wedding ceremony for 4 days. And the bride choosed this Toscany region not ocassionally! It's a small cute town very close to Florence but with its special atmosphere, narrow streets and beatifull landscapes around.
Tha B&B hotel is the ideal place for staying. Its quite, clean, with a nice rooms and amazing Elisa, who welcomes you with her smile, answers on all your questions and even more! I can hardly call B&B as a "hotel", its actually a house which (i'm sure!) is waiting for my next coming!:)))

We chose San Casciano because we wanted to experience typical Tuscan countryside and this town was perfect, with olive trees right up to the piazza and cypruses leading to the horizon. We didn't know we were also going to find a most wonderful hostess - or rather that she would find us, as on arrival Elisa saw us from a distance and came to meet us with the warmest of welcomes. We were surprised to be given an upgrade and were really happy to have a little kitchen area. Elisa went out of her way to ensure we had a nice time, taking us out to see the countryside more than once, as we didn't have a car. However, for main sightseeing there is good local transport and we didn't feel we missed anything. San Casciano is a lovely, friendly town with all the amenities and some good places to eat....I think we had some of the best meals of our holiday in San Casciano, including Elise's lovely breakfasts (great capuccini!).

The B&B Art was a wonderful place to stay! It was a very cozy and comfortable place to stay, and central to everything you would want to see in San Casciano, including the beautiful countryside. Travel to the surrounding areas was very easy and only a short distance. And Elisa was a great hostess! She definitely made the stay at B&B Art very personal and was very helpful with suggestions for "places to visit" during your stay. I am planning on going back to San Casciano because it was one of my favorite destinations in Italy, and will definitely make plans to stay at the B&B Art again!

B&B Art in San Casciano was a delight! Elisa met us at the door and I immediately felt I was in excellent hands. She did not disappoint -- always willing to drop what she was doing and serve her guests. The breakfast buffet was perfect each day with fresh pastries and fruit. My top floor room had lots of space, great exterior light, a view of the shops and walkways across the street with all the typical bustling of an inviting Italian village. With the kitchenette I could have stayed a month (and should have). Rest was easy -- it was a very quiet environment. An early riser, I could walk out the door and across the street for my first cafe or two of the day. San Casciano has great historical appeal and charm with wonderful restaurants and shops for clothing, food, gifts, etc. Other historic villages, wineries and fattorias were short driving distance in all directions from San Casciano. With all the charm of San Casciano, our experience would not have been the same without the wonderful accommodations and service at B & B Art.

I recently took a group/tour to B&B Art in San Casciano and couldn't be happier. We stayed based on a friend's recommendation and I will happily return. It's a great location, just inside the walls of the old village - a short walk to great restaurants, shopping, ATM; good walking/running routes around town; Internet access; wonderful breakfast in the morning and the three-level B&B is cozy. It's a charming blend of Old Italy and art deco. Part of the charm comes from Elisa, who works tirelessly to ensure her guests are comfortable and have everything they need - from tour and flight confirmations to dinner recommendations to finding a massage therapist. She treats everyone as a special friend from the moment you arrive.

My 18-yr-old daughter and I stayed at B&B Art by chance in order to go hot air ballooning in the nearby countryside. We loved ballooning but we were also truly captivated by the beauty of San Casciano and the warm hospitality of our host, Elisa. Our room was clean and elegant. It had a great bathroom with an actual tub, which we really appreciated after having lugged our suitcases around Italy for almost three weeks with access to only small shower stalls!! Breakfast was a lovely variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, brioche and easily one of the best cappucinos I had in Italy. We enjoyed strolling around the small town, sitting at the wine bar's outside patio, and shopping at the weekly market and at shops around town. It was super easy to reach from Florence--just a short bus ride. Had I known about it earlier, we would've spent fewer days in busy Florence. Thank you, Elisa! I hope to see you again in the future.
