OK. I visit Villa C every six months and always write rave reviews but that is because it really is a beautiful and holistic hotel. It is so tranquil that when a dog barks 3 miles down the valley you can hear it. Being at VC for a few days is like being away for weeks of relaxation and this year the food is terrific. If you are suffering from stress fatigue, traffic congestion and pollution, just get on line and book. Do not hesitate. You'll find peace and relaxation abounding. As for the hotel pets, Kant and Bendico remain as adoring as ever and the new arrival Gatau (the abandoned grey cat), well one year on he rules the place; picture attached . The staff remain helpful and so attentive. The whole pace of life is simply purr-fect. As you get in your car to re-join the real world, remember Villa Campestri is back there with the always smiling Viola and the knowledgeable and caring Gemma. I truly believe the fact that Villa C exists proves there is a god. Can't wait till next April

Wonderful place - not only for rooms where you can feel the love with which the owners have recreated this place - you can see it in every little detail of the stylish rooms....
The wonderful breakfast and dinner terrace with excellent service...
However our highlight by far was the olive oil tasting with Gema (apologies if spelled wrongly) - feel the passion and have a life changing experience ... Absolutely fascinating!!! And life-changing because we will be spending a lot more money on olive oil than in the past 😉
(@Gema: we did buy the "bad" oil as a reference to take home + thanks again!!! And we will be back - and check for the Riesling😉)

We stayed here for a chill out 3 day break in August after a busy 4 days in Florence. We were certainly able to relax and enjoyed the lovely pool and ambiance. I have travelled extensively and I would say that breakfast here rates as one of my favourite ever - especially the super fresh honey. We were not quite as enamoured with the other meals available as the portions seemed a little small and disproportioned to the price! Word of warning re the mosquitos which only seemed to be attracted to the males in our party (luckily for me and my daughter) but as long as you take a spray you should be fine. Would recommend a car for sure as taxis very expensive. I adored it and would definitely return - despite feeling the recent earth quake which made the room rattle. Would absolutely love this hotel even more if it had a tennis court - there's lots of space for one to be hidden away for sure!

I have been to this hotel a number of times and it is the most beautiful place...old fashioned Tuscany just like you see in the brochures...Cypress trees and fields of sunflowers greet you when you open the wooden shutters in the morning. Gorgeous rooms of rich reds and golden heavy fabrics, marble bathrooms and beamed ceilings...with a memorable smell of a castle!! Sometimes in the late afternoon you could hear the distant sound of the owner playing the piano. The food is traditional and perfect. The staff remembered me from the previous year. They were helpful and very friendly. Romantic. remote and perfect.

Stayed here on our way home to Switzerland. After travelling up a very narrow road to this beautiful old villa we were greeted by a pleasant lady. She took us to our room located on the first floor overlooking the hotel park. It was like stepping back in time with old style bed, rustic furnishings and a wobbly fan. No air con to be found here but the quirkiness of the hotel and experience allows for the slight misgivings of modern conveniences. A nice breakfast greeted us the next mooring so we decide to stay for dinner in the evening. This was very disappointing and overpriced. The service was poor as I think the waiters couldn't cope with the number of guests. Meals were being mixed up and forgotten at the next table but we chuckled and enjoyed the entertainment. My order arrived which was some kind of lasagne and I have to say it was the worst I have ever been served. In summary- beautiful building which is at the top of a hill, remote with no bars or restaurants in walking distance but peaceful apart from the barking dogs. Breakfast nice but evening dinner not great. Windy road leading up to the hotel is quite challenging in the dark too.
