Description: The masterpiece of Villa Campestri cuisine: olive oil on canvas. Nothing paints the unique atmosphere of Villa Campestri more memorably than the cuisine of our Restaurant, L’Olivaia. The leading protagonist here is the extra-virgin olive oil produced by the Villa’s ancient olive groves. With its deep colour and lingering taste with notes of artichoke and almond, this oil inspires the Chef Luigi Incrocci to create dishes of absolute excellence in a symphony of flavours skilfully combining innovation and tradition, simplicity and refinement. Many of the ingredients employed come from our gardens and organic orchards. Our wine list offers an ample selection with classic vintages alongside some innovative suggestions selected by our wine talent scout, maestro Dario Bogani. The suggestive atmosphere of the Restaurant with its polychromatic caissoned wooden ceiling, carved shelving, stone window frames and terracotta floors is the ideal setting for theme dinners, renaissance dinners, and olive oil, wine, or cheese tastings.

A foodies dream holiday!

Have just returned from an amazing 5 night holiday at the Villa Campestri Olive Oil hotel, the home of L'Olivaia restaurant - the food and the atmosphere really made our holiday.

After choosing to eat at L'Olivaia on the first evening of our holiday, sitting out on the terrace as the sun went down across the valley, we were blown away by the fantastic flavours and uncomplicated ingredients which worked so well for their elegant simplicity.

We have a whole new appreciation for 'real' olive oil - ask to try Villa Campestri's own olive oil with the bread they serve at the start of the meal - it's so full of flavour, unlike that which we use to cook with in the UK. You'll pick out the unique flavour notes in the chef's cooking - it's amazing!

We were so impressed with our first evening at the restaurant we chose to eat there 3 nights out of the possible 4 - so many great things on the menu we wanted to try and we were not disappointed by any of them.

Stunning dishes worth mentioning:
The olive encrusted fillet steak - the best steak I've ever had!
Martelli Spaghetti for it's simplicity
Garganelli pasta with porcini mushrooms
Ravioli filled with potatoes & rosemary
Coffee Cheesecake
Ah the list goes on....!

On our last night we weren't particularly hungry, but still ended up having a three course meal anyway!

Service was great throughout our stay, with our hosts ensuring we had everything we could possibly need and more. The waiters & hotel staff were all great at English, (embarrassingly, we were not very good at Italian!)

5 out of 5!

Followed a Italian cooking workshop here which was amusing and useful. The chef, Christian, is a patient guy and explains all the secrets of the Italian kitchen in a relaxed manner and with good humour. That workshop was absolutely the best!
However, during the evening we stayed for dinner and the food was not all that good. Some food was simply too greasy and the service was not very friendly or attentive.
The location was absolutely fantastic; no traffic noise, very nice views, great swimming pool, nice people and lots more. Because of the poor restaurant performance this is not a 5 star but 4 star experience.

Had the distinct impression that the front of house and cooking was very average - semi-professional team. Did not have a memorable meal at the restaurant.
The web-site was slick but the food delivery was not as expected.
Food was relatively expensive for what i experienced.
