A real pleasure - the place isn't very pretty, but the family which runs it makes up for it.
We started with prosciutto crudo and fresh mushrooms (Adelino, the father, added some drops of very good and old aceto balsamico) and pasta with rocket pesto and mountain cheese - simple and excellent.
Then we had counterfillet on leeks with Amarone reduction and braised beef with Amarone and polenta and two fresh salads - really excellent.
Accompanied by an 2002 Amarone this was really a treat.
For dessert we had a local cake together with a glass of ripasso - a sweet and strong red wine.
And then Adelino came with a bottle of Grappa and told us to help outselves to it - on the house, of course!
Last but not least we bought some bottles of the excellent olive oil for a very reasonable price and left with a big smile on our faces...
