Starting from the arival, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne next to the reception. The room and the toilet was really huge, well-designed, totally new and clean. There was no problem with free tables during meals in the restaurant, because waiters took care of finding the needed one. Meals were surprisingly delicious, wide range of tastes for everyone. Whatever u wanted u could find there :) Restaurant was clean as well. The pool was quite big, with no missing sunbeds around. The way to the beach wasn't so tiring, it takes 8 minutes along paths among trees. The beach is stunning, the view is breathtaking. It's a big convenience for the hotel to be situated near such a wonderful beach. The staff at the hotel it's perfect, from receptionist, bartenders, waiters and cleaning ladies. They are so friendly, helpful and every requests were solved with smile and without problem. The drinks in the lobby bar and pool bar were really tasty, the bartenders were doing their best whole day long. There is only one disadvantage, that it's far away by walk from the nearest city Armacao de Pera, which takes 35 minutes but during the day it's quite impossible in that heat. I think that hotel should manage a bus for the guests. But in general, it's a great place. I really recommend it for families the most and couples. It's a calm place, but even demanding client will be satisfied.

We got back yesterday from Portugal after spending a week at the Be Live Palmeiras Village hotel.

I must admit that we were feeling a little anxious as some of the reviews have been mixed, and we are fussy when it comes to accommodation, however are pleased to report that many of the bad reviews are unjustified!

The hotel itself is new and modern and very clean. The rooms are perfectly adequate, the food was awesome with loads of choice (we're on a diet now we're home!) and the staff very helpful and all spoke good English. Definitely worth the 4 stars.

The pool was perfect for our 2 young boys who spent several hours in it every day. There are the most gorgeous beaches and caves about 300m from the hotel, definitely worth a visit.

The hotel is having some major development work which sound very impressive. It says on their website that the work will be completed by the 10th July, but we were there on the 10th July and there was no way the work will be completed by next month let alone last week! However the works did not interrupt our stay as they all take place away from the main hotel building.

There have been some reviews complaining that their rooms are noisy. Our room was on the outside of the hotel (lateral view) and we found it very quiet. Rubbish is collected but not until mid morning or late afternoon, unlike what some reviewers say. I do however think that if you have a room facing the pool then you could be disturbed at night if you want to go to bed early by the mini disco and entertainment that goes on until 11pm and after, so ask for a quiet room if that is important to you.

I have only a few minor qualms for what was an almost perfect holiday. The water in the hotel pool and the sea for that matter is cold. However, I believe this is pretty standard for hotels in Europe. This didn't seem to bother my boys but I could only manage a quick dip as it was freezing! But on the hot days, and yes we had glorious weather, the water proved to be quite refreshing.

During our stay we felt that it started to get noticeably busier as all the schools in the UK and Europe broke up. And although we never had to queue for a table at meal times or drinks at the bar we could imagine that is it filled up it might not be as ideal as one would like.

Room Tip: Rooms on the outside of the hotel are essential if you want a quiet night

I have just returned from a lovely week at the Be Live Palmeiras. I couldn't fault the hotel at all, everywhere was clean and tidy and very spacious. There is a huge reception to welcome you, the room was spotlessly clean, large with loads of storage space. We had a room with a pool view and you could also see the sea. The staff are all very friendly and the food was lovely, a huge choice at every meal time, we certainly didn't go hungry! There is a snack bar which is open whenever the restaurant isn't so you could eat constantly if you wanted to! The pool area is kept clean and tidy and there were plenty of sun loungers available. The hotel is in a quiet area, there are a few restaurants and bars around but not many, there were a couple down by the beach which is only a 5 minute stroll away. No complaints at all, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Booked this at last minute. Very impressed!! Lovely hotel, spotless rooms, food of a high calibre (on a par with 5 star hotels in Egypt, some other people's reviews bow aren't justified). The staff were a delight, very friendly and helpful at all times. Will definitely return.

Just returned from a 7 night stay with my sister and 10 year old and will definitely return. Lovely welcoming staff on Reception, brilliant dedicated Animation team, wide and varied choice of food something for everyone. Spacious, spotlessly clean room, lovely pool area with an abundance of sunbeds and lovely grassed areas on outside of pool area, again with plenty of sunbeds. Every member of staff friendly and nothing too much trouble.

usually read reviews of hotels before I book a holiday reviews for this hotel were mostly favourable but you have to go yourself to really see what it is like.Hotel its self looked great with an imposing reception area go to the bedroom two beds no chairs no spares and most disappointing NO FRIDGE. assured when we booked there was a fridge asked about it told they were on order .This hotel has been open almost a year so no excuses please. The shower in the bath is very difficult to get out of no bath mat in a very smooth bath is an accident waiting to happen.Going down to the restaurant if you get a lift working is quick some times you had to go down the stairs from all the floors. ITS EIGHT STOREY HIGH. The food was nothing to rush down for lukewarm food mostly on cold platesGo up to the bar for a drink don't form a queue just do what the Spanish and Portuguese do and push your way in then try and find a seat in the bar or reception area This hotel was half full and the staff did there best but it was not enough There is no al a carte restaurant nor third pool it is still being built.AVOID the lateral sea view as you get the bins being emptied and early deliveries you get a cockerel every morning about half five which sets off the dogs in the neighbouring houses. You take your chances when you go on holiday but sme people seem to be very easily pleased.WOULD YOU ACCEPT THE SAME SERVICE AT HOME I DONT THING SO.

Arrived about 7pm and checked in easily enough, despite asking for a high floor we were allocated room 1125 on the 1st floor. Room was VERY hot, switched on aircon full and discovered it was blowing air about, just not cooling it. Unpacked and found plenty storage in the room both hanging and in drawers. Reported aircon faulty and to be fair it was repaired the following morning, shame we couldn't sleep as it was so hot. we also discovered that the room had no fridge, although there was clearly a space for it in the room. very odd. Until our 2nd last day when a fridge mysteriously arrived in the room, but wasn't installed in the space left for it. There was no settee, or any seats in the room, there was only one soft covered stool to sit on.

The following day we discovered that room 1125 is situated directly above the loading bay, where all deliveries come into the hotel. this means that there is a steady stream of vans and trucks reversing to the door, doors slamming and all sorts of noise as deliveries are made. our balcony never got used. I've attached photos of our view of various vans and lorries. Also just down from our balcony was the bin store, where wheelie bins were taken at all times of the day and night and emptied into the bigger bins very noisily, no attempt was made to do this quietly.

The room also had what appeared to be a really lovely bathroom, until you tried to use it and discovered that little or no thought had been applied to the layout. The entry to the bath is obstructed by a glass screen to stop water from the shower splashing on the floor. this means you have to climb out the end of the bath with the slope when its wet, an accident waiting to happen. There is also a double sink, not sure why as it means there is little storage space at the sink.

So we weren't overly impressed by the room, and it sort of set the trend for the rest of the Hotel. There are 4 lifts and at no point during the week did all four work, at one point they were all out of order, and for most of the week only two worked, this meant that it was very difficult to get a lift! ok if you're able bodied but not if elderly or disabled.

The Restaurant is on the 2nd floor and it is one of the largest we've come across on our travels. It is definitely the noisiest. We've never heard noise like it. It seems to act as an echo chamber but there are screaming children and the noise is just unbelievably LOUD! Food is the usual buffet service with a hot cooking station where the chefs cook in front of you. I never had anything hot all week, lukewarm is the hottest I ever had. there was a fair selection all week, always a selection of fish at lunch and dinner. There is a microwave there to heat up baby food which was utilised to heat up food on occasion! There is also a snack bar, open when the main restaurant is closed. There you can get a cold toastie, or a cold burger or "HOT" dog. There are also soft drink machines.

There are 2 bars, one at the pool, and another on the third floor near reception. Pool bar service was always adequate. The same could not be said for the other bar. I will add a picture that shows the queue that was there at night. one person or sometimes two is insufficient for an all inclusive hotel with 278 rooms. It was almost as if the management were trying not to serve drinks. perish the thought. Not enough seating, Pathetic.

The village is a half hours walk away downhill and there's really not a lot there after your walk. take a taxi back, its about €5. There a lovely beach about 10 minutes walk away if you leave by the gate at the bottom of the gardens. on the way there you'll see all the building work going on for an extension to the hotel.

Check out is at 12 noon, and despite there being signs round the hotel telling you that you can keep the room on for €21 until 3pm (extortionate) when we tried to do this we were informed that it was too busy. we arrived at reception at 11:45 to check out, despite our transport to the airport not arriving until 3:40pm. There was utter chaos as at least 2 buses had just deposited people to check in. there was no separate check out, so we had to queue behind all the new arrivals. only one problem. The British know how to queue, there was more than one argument as various foreigners tried to push their way in. After queuing for 45 minutes we checked out, to be informed that our holiday was over, and all inclusive was finished for us. despite paying our tour operator for 7 days all inclusive we got 6 and a half days. Thomas Cook what you going to do about that? According to Thomas Cook its up to the Hotel. I don't think so!

Anyway I couldn't be persuaded to return to this hotel if you paid me. Don't believe the good reviews, I wish I hadn't! I've never ever stayed at a worse hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid room1125 like the plague! Ask for a higher floor, 4th or above and pray that the lifts are wor...
