We stayed in an apartment suite, with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean the rooms were nice and clean, the kitchen area had a fridge and microwave and double electric cooking rings Toaster and coffee tea making facilities. Breakfast buffet was good but we didn't have dinners there. Lovely italian restaurant up the road and a local mini market a stone throw away from the hotel , we stayed just out of season so quite a few places are closed until the end of March.

Along the Seven Hanging Valleys Walk are lovely cliff top walks overlooking picturesque beaches but most are not accessible it has medium difficulty for walkers wear good trainers. There is very little health and safety in place which means that you do have to be careful and keep back from the edges of the cliffs. Its a good example of the Algarve coastal wildlife and many species flora and fauna and a fair share of coastal birds which are easy to see along the way.

Travelled with 8 friends for golfing week. Really good location, with excellent choice of local restaurants in easy walking distance. Hotel meet and greet very good. Breakfast and sevice very good. Rooms very comfortable and clean, with tea & coffee making facilities, along with microwave and fridge. Spa very good , including outside pool , not used.

Perhaps interior of hotel looking a tad tired, but we were out playing golf every day. As mentioned location is excellent, with walks , some a bit steep , down to beach , which has fish restaurant. Would look to go again, out of season, so cannot comment on how hotel would cope in high season.

Soundproofing an issue when people arriving / leaving hotel , you can hear trollies been wheeled through corridors.

Room Tip: Choose sea view room , with balcony.

Pestana Viking is a nice good quality hotel. Best thing was absolutely the aqua therapy.
Very nice guy making good water-gym training for people living in the hotel. Unfortunately they
cancelled the whole aqua therapy. Hopefully they start it again soon. Hopefully its possible to make also next year! Thank you so much for the extra good quality trainer!

The location of the hotel is exceptional. Right in front of the beach with a magnificent view to the Atlantic Ocean. The service is adequate and the breakfast not being extraordinary is quite acceptable.
The main problem is the low soundproofing of the rooms. One can easily hear people carrying their trolleys in the corridor or dragging the chairs in the room above yours.
I spend three nights in the hotel during low season, so in summer time this evaluation can be somehow different...

The hotel is beautifully sited overlooking the ocean, cliffs and beaches. We had a sea view room with balcony and thoroughly enjoyed the view and the balcony. We were on half board so used the kitchenette to prepare our lunches. There is a new supermarcado just up the road from the hotel with everything we needed plus more.
The staff were very helpful and considerate. My daughter used the indoor swimming area but I could not go there as the chlorine smell was too much for my asthma to tolerate. I am not able to walk any distance so the hotel provided a wheelchair they had on hand. It made a great difference to our enjoyment of the area.
The only problem I had was with the bed. It was very hard and gave me a backache. I finally folded a spare blanket and put it under the sheet.
The food was excellent! There was an ample variety available for each meal presented in very sanitary conditions. I would recommend this hotel highly.

Room Tip: I would opt for one of the upper floors so you can get decent views of the area. The extra charge for sea view is well worth it.
