“Traditional and beautiful”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

Superb tradidional food, amazing value and friendly yet unobtrusive service.
Chorizo and mushrooms in garlic starter is out of this world.
Plenty of daily specials to choose from with fresh fish always on offer and the house wine was only 7 euros a litre too.
We ate at many fantastic restaurants on this lovely holiday but this was without doubt the best.
Near the roundabout between rocha and de vau beaches and well worth searching out.

“Great find!”
Reviewed 1 July 2013 via mobile

Looked at the reviews for this place several times but to be honest the outside of the restaurant isn't very appealing. We took the plunge on Sunday night & so glad we did. It was quite busy, mainly with Portuguese families which is usually a good sign. Basic menu is, well, basic! There is a board with loads of specials. I chose fish fillets with banana, served with chips & salad which was very good & my other half ordered mixed fish & prawn grill with clams. This was amazing, 2 large fish ,3 or 4 sardines, 4 enormous prawns & several mussels ( it did say clams on the menu but they were definitely mussels)this was served with potatoes & salad. We shared a caramel creme cake which was home made & delicious. This was washed down with a bottle of red wine & the total bill was approx €42 which we thought very reasonable. The service wasn't fantastic probably because they were so busy but we were made welcome & the food was so good we will definitely return in the near future.

“Simply the best”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

Our family have been coming this resort for over 20 years and we have never been disappointed with the quality of the food and the warmth of the welcome from the owner and his family. They are such a great advert for their country and we always look forward to our next visit. Love the home made lasagne, Portuguese steak, garlic mushrooms and all the fish dishes!
