THIS IS A VERY GOOD HOTEL, EASY ACCESS AT BEACH,BEAUTIFUL VIEWS. very clean rooms. Got one the newly decorated room so i was lucky one..My only fault is i have problems sleeping and this hotel has a big fouuntain in centre- you would think someone was in shower constantly having a long shower with noise from this.. this does stop late night and not turned on till 9am in morning but if you want rest you got this annoying noise all day. just to say if you aren't bothered by this then its a lovely hotel.

Lovely Hotel has a lot of character that is carried through out the hotel. Good size rooms all with a seaview, very clean and smart. Small kitchen area with a good full size fridge fridge, 2 burner electric stove enough crockery pans and cutlery. Decent tv with English channels and a couple of easy chairs. Big bed with a good mattress and various lighting options in the headboard very amusing.Good sized bathroom with over bath shower pretty powerful and very hot water, Bath is of a good size.Twin sinks, decent towels changed regularly again very clean. Wardrobe is of a good size with enough hangers for once and plenty of drawer space.all the staff were very friendly and helpful they have a bellhop on duty to carry cases and open doors. The entrance is quite spectacular big open foyer leading to an atrium with a long pool very impressive reminded me of a cruise ship. Breakfast was good bacon, scrambled eggs sausages etc and continental as well. Nice grounds with a decent pool and shallow pool for the young plenty of sunbeds available and beach towels free from the desk with a deposit. Really peaceful at this end and a very short walk to the livelier end of town. Has it's own path way to the beach directly below, take care though it is steep. All in excellent hotel and really good value.

Room Tip: all rooms are good but the ones over the restruant give a better panorama

Stayed here for 6 days and very happy with the whole experience. Room was very clean and modern. Staff were all very nice. Breakfast is typically Portuguese so no Bacon & sausages like I remember but I guess a change is as good as a rest, if you like cheese and fruit you will be happy. Overall no hesitation recommending and will come back again.

The Oriental Hotel is in a great location in Praia Da Rocha. It has a calm and relaxing feel about it when you enter the lobby. The staff were immaculate, polite and helpful.

Our room (110) was very nice - it was large and very clean with a nice bathroom, decent bath/shower with lots of hot water at all times. Towels and bedding were changed daily. There was a small kitchenette area in the room which, although it was nice to have a fridge to keep bottles of water cold, I did think it was a bit of a waste of space and unneccesary in a hotel. I would rather have had some extra space on the balcony which was taken up somewhat with a large table and an air conditioning unit, leaving not much room for sitting!

We were on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was very good indeed. The staff were always immaculate and everything was fresh and clean and there was a good choice of fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon, pastries, toast, fresh bread, tea, coffee, juice etc etc.

We didn't use the pool as the weather was a little 'mixed' but it did look very inviting had it been a bit warmer!

The hotel was very quiet and the bar was therefore a little 'dead' - but nice if you wanted a quiet drink/coffee or even a cocktail or two (which I can honestly recommend!!) they were very good!

We had to pay to use the internet and could only use it in the lobby or in the bar/lounge area...free WiFi throughout the hotel would be a definite advantage!

All in all, we had a lovely relaxing holiday in a hotel which definitely feels quite 'up market' and the staff make you feel very welcome.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a sea view albeit a lot of them a side sea view.... I suppose if you could chose a better room it would be at the front of the hotel

This is a well run, very pretty hotel. You walk through the door of the lobby and you are entering a diffrent world. Peace and tranquility, with a long pond in the inner courtyard. The whole building is greatly influenced by the moorish history of Portugal. Beautyfully tiled troughout the public area, wide corridors and no irritating piped music.
Our room was large, clean, nicely decorated and had a large terrace overlooking the gardens and the fabulous beach. There is also a nice screened of mini kitchen, usefull when you had enough of the poor restaurants Portimao has to offer. Everything was clean and worked!
Breakfast is ample and good, the coffee is not. Still the waiter made us coffee from the bar and my morning was OK! We had of course to pay extra for that, but it is worse it. We did not try the dinner at the hotel as we were meeting up with friends.
