Right off I have to tell you we went to a Fado show in the lower level and didn't take a room as we were already booked down the street. Was impressed by the swank interior .The show came with a buffet which was some of the best main coarse food we had in Portugal. The music was also top rate.If you go to Portugal and don't take in some of this music you are missing some of the essence of this country.

Room Tip: haven't stayed in a guest room but the exterior and looks great and the interior is very swank.

We are actually still here and I write this review whilst looking at the sea. This is an excellent hotel with amazing sea views from a premium sea view room- definitely worth it!
The room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. Only downsides are:
- you have to pay 3 euros to use the room safe which I think it's appalling
- no coffee and tea facilities in room
- parking. They have 3 reserved spaces and after that you need to find a space on the street. It's not a huge problem in April but in the summer I can see it will be a nightmare.

Overall I think it is good value and a very good hotel. Worth the visit!

I can't really fault this hotel. Fabulous location, really nice staff, nicely decorated with a 5 star feel.
Our room (207) was facing directly out to sea with a large balcony. Modern yet traditional feel to the room. Modern bathroom with new fittings. Nice relaxing breakfast in a lovely room with panoramic views of the beach. Would stay here again. The only thing missing is a Spa /Gym.

Room Tip: pay a little extra for a 'deluxe room' with beach/ocean views.

Stayed in one of the Premium rooms having a full view of the beach, very large, with huge balcony (let down by the lack of a sun bed, apparently they don't have them on balconies) Table and chairs were good. Full kitchen facilities, bed was the usual hard variety found in Portugal !!.
Staff everywhere were very kind, courteous, nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast buffet was fabulous, every conceivable combination of fruit, bread, cereals, cheese, bacon, etc
only thing missing for British fans of the full english was a fried egg, there were however boiled eggs.

The hotel is right on the beach at Praia Da Rocha and at the quieter end of town though I daresay it could be a bit lively outside in midsummer but in October it was very quiet.

WiFi is available for a fee, we paid 10 Euros for an hour that did us for a week to check email, etc.

As it's name suggest the hotel is oriental in design, all white marble, beautifully designed and furnished. There is a beautiful green area outside the hotel with many sun beds and large umbrellas, very spaced out, not sitting on top of one another. The pool is at the side of the hotel with it's own bar and menu (closed whilst we were there) The only issue we had was parking, we had a hire car for the week and there are only 3 or 4 spaces available outside the hotel, it was by chance if we found a space, if not we had to drive 2 to 300 yards and park up in a side street. All in all, a very, very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Premium rooms (and I think suites) face the beach more or less full on and get sun a lot of the day...

The Algarve is littered with great beaches. Playa de Rocha is one of my favorites. The west end has sone lovely little coves. This hotel had a good deal going at the time so we spent a few nights. I was pleasently surprised by the warth of our greeting, the spacious rooms with their views.
