We arrived at this Hotel on Saturday night and were very pleased with the location i.e about 3 minute walk from the beach. On Sunday evening after a perfect day on the beach we arrived back to our room, only to find a number of clothes items and jwellery missing. To make a long story short the management staff at this hotel were completely unhelpful to our situation. We had to request them to call the guards and not once were we offered any apology or expression of concern over the burglary. There was no sign off any forced entry to our room!!!. We feel very unfortunate to have choosen this hotel from the many available in the Algarve. I certainly would not recommend it and it ruined what otherwise would have been a great holiday in the Algarve.

I spent 6 nights at Jardins da Rocha with my girlfriend at the end of September/beginning of October. The apartments are a stones throw from the beach and "The Strip" for all the restaurants, bars etc. Located at the western end of the main Praia da Rocha beach, it is ideally located for easy access to both the main beach and some of the more secluded and pretty beaches further to the west. We asked for a sea view and were given room 2607 on the top (26th!) floor. We had an amazing view of the nearby coastline (i'll try to post a picture soon) and could see all the way to Lagos to the west.

The room was self-catering so we were provided with a small kitchen area with a good selection of utensils - even if you plan to eat out in the evening it is good for making breakfast in the morning. There is a small supermarket at the western end of the Strip, ideal for picking up food and drink supplies. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. We received fresh towels everyday apart from Thursday so be careful to hold back a towel or two on the Wednesday.

We had reservations about the weather at this time of year but for our entire stay the temperature was mid to high twenties, though we heard that we had missed a big thunderstorm by only a day. Although we spent the time relaxing on the beach, there were plenty of agencies on the strip offering trips to attractions further afield such as cruises, water parks and zoos. The resort was much quieter than you would expect if visiting in the peak of summer but this meant we had no problem getting tables at restaurants and the beach was not over crowded.

My partner and I are both vegetarians and eating abroad can sometimes be a problem, but there are a good mix of international restaurants on the strip so we had no problems finding a good meal. We found the nicer restaurants tended to be at either end of the Strip whilst the central section was best for lively bars.

Overall I would recommend these apartments for anyone looking for a pleasant but affordable stay with excellent views and easy access to the beach, restaruants and bars. September/October is an ideal time to visit if you want to avoid the summer crowds and intense heat.

My boyfriend and I stayed in a SC studio apartment at Jardins da Rocha for 2 weeks. It was fantastic. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were friendly and spoke perfect English.

The hotel pools were lovely and clean, lots of space to sunbathe either on loungers or the grass.

Its not even a 5min walk from the hotel to the beach and main street where all the shops and restaurants are! Perfect location.

Dont be put off by the look of the hotel-its FAB!!

I went to this hotel with my boyfriend for a week in September, booked as a package holiday, self-catering. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the room amenities. Don't be put off by the external appearance though, it's just a beige tower block. However, the room (studio) was large and very clean with 2 single beds, air-conditioning, satellite TV (BBC1,BBC3, Eurosport, CNN, SkyNews, TrueMovies, Spanish channel and local channels), balcony with table and 2 chairs, open-plan kitchen with cooker (oven and hobs) , microwave, fridge with icebox, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, also a circular wooden dining table with a couple of chairs and a sofa. A safety deposit box was located in the cupboard, but had to pay extra to use it. Bathroom was small but functional and even had a bidet! Plenty of hot water available around the clock. We arrived on a Saturday and the cleaners came nearly every day, 4 out of 5 weekdays. They came around 5-6 pm and did a good job of wiping and mopping the floor, giving the bathroom a quick clean , making the beds and changing towels every other day, sheets once during the week. We were amazed! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist didn't mind ringing to reconfirm our return transfer, even though it took him a while to get through. The swimming pools (one adult, one child pool) were a good size and there were toilets and indoor showers on site kept in good condition and very clean. The gardens were also very well kept, even though a bit limited. There was a tennis court and a children's play area with a slide and a couple of swings, quite small though. A cafe is located near but outside the pool area with great custard tarts! The location of the hotel is perfect, near the main beach (unfortunately accessible by around 60 steps but not very steep) and near the bars and restaurants. There is also a bus stop at the side of the hotel.
The only drawback I would say was the noise. There was construction going on in the general area and while indoors the double glazing reduced this, outside at the pool it could get a bit noisy.

Have just returned from a weeks holiday in Praia da Rocha, staying at the Jardins da Rocha & I have to say it was a very enjoyable experience. I booked the accommodation directly with the hotel & they were extremely helpful & responsive in all their communication. I asked for a low floor room & an early check in & it was all sorted when me & my family arrived ( 2 adults & 2 young kids ). They also arranged our transfers to & from the airport which turned out to be a real bonus as it only took us 45 mins to get there & back.

The room we had was clean & well equipped, with a good sized kitchen & dining area. There were sofa beds in the living room for the kids & 2 twin beds in the main bedroom which were perfectly ok for the time we spent in the room. The bathroom was small, but it had a bath & shower above so it served our needs more than adequately. We also had 2 balconies, which again were not particularly spacious but it was nice to be able to use each morning or evening.

Our rooms were cleaned every day & we got fresh towels each day as well apart from the sunday we were there; the maids themselves were both friendly & very thorough.

Our room also had an air con unit on the main wall in the living area which was a godsend as the weather was really hot for the week we were there - we switched it off each evening as the kids were freezing by the time they went to bed !

The hotel has 2 good sized pools ( 1 for kids & a large pool for adults ) & there are lots of sunbeds available, set within an attractive lawned area. We never struggled to find sunbeds even though the hotel was at full capacity; Im also glad to say there was no need to get up early to put your towels down as most of the guests were spanish & portugese who dont seem to bother with this type of ritual.....the lack of germans & chav british families was a real feature of our stay.

The location of the hotel is also a real bonus being just a couple of minutes walk from the beach, bars & restaurants that the resort has to offer, but as its located towards the quieter end of the resort you are not affected by noise from any of the bars or clubs.

Finally I should say that the staff at the Jardins da Rocha are excellent, very customer centric & helpful at all times.

Stayed here last week in a studio apt ... it was lovely! there was a very good size (fully fitted) kitchenette and table that would seat four easily should you wish to cook.
The tv had lots of channels should you wish to do that and the bathroom was a good size with a nice powerful shower/bath.
Our balcony was also a good size and for two people it was more than adequate.
It was really nicely decorated and pretty.

The pool area was gorgeous ... lots of sunbeds and a grassy garden area that you cold also lie out on. A smaller shallow pool for children and a lovely big pool also. It never got too busy and there were some children but not so many as to make it uncomfortable.

Literally across the strip from the beach and near to lots of nice restaurants and bars.

The staff on reception were the most helpful i have encountered and gave us towels to have showers before we left to catch our plane on the last evening.

While Praia da Rocha would not have been my choice of destination .. we were there for a wedding. I could not fault this accomodation or any of the food in the surrounding restaurants ... and the beach was fabulous.
