We stayed at this hotel for a family holiday, the apartment that we stayed in was in a block that was also rented by local people so was outside the main complex of the resort. We had a standard one bedroom apartment, for two adults and two children aged 10 & 18. I would NOT recommend this accommodation to a family/party of more than 2. The sofa bed in the living room that we slept on for a week was the most uncomfortable bed that I have ever experienced. The maid service was fantastic and we had clean bedding and towels daily. On the website that we booked through it said that a standard room came with A/C but no standard rooms do so be ware! Also the safe is chargeable , again this was included on the website that we booked through. When we questioned this with reception they in so many words dimly said its their website that has the correct information! Who no a days books direct with the hotels they stay at! So just be sure to check what you are getting included. The resort is a 10 minute walk from the beach and restaurants but it is a hilly walk and I would not recommend with a pushchair or the elderly or hard of walking. The local bars and restaurants by the beach were all very nice to eat at and very reasonably priced. We ate once for lunch in the resort but was very disappointed, we had burgers and chips. After a long wait they arrived but were all severed cold. The staff were not a cheery as I would have expected from a holiday resort but not rude. The evening entertainment we did not attend as it was nicer to go to the beach front and enjoy the atmosphere. The entertainment always started really late, around 10pm if I remember right! If I had young children I would have struggled. Overall it was a nice place and the views and beach are amazing, well worth a visit. Just book wisely.

Room Tip: If you are a party of more than 2 do not book a standard one bedroom apartment, as the unlucky one(s...

We booked villa Rosa independently and took up the offer of half board! One dinner was enough! Not very good at all! We asked for a refund and this was given to us thankfully! One of the night receptionists was very rude when we complained about the food, stating we should have went 4 or 5 star for better! We have been to 3 star hotels in Spain for the previous two years and the food was brilliant and of a excellent variety! We felt very annoyed with her attitude and asked when the manager would be on duty! We went to reception the next morning and a pleasant receptionist sorted out our problem and agreed to our relief to refund the remaining nine days half board supplement for my hubby, two teenagers and me!
Villa Rosa is well kept, beautiful gardens and two pools. I wouldn't call it a hotel, it is apartment blocks! The walk to the beach is via a bridge and busy road but not far. The beaches are stunning and to eat out very cheap. Croke park and Taffy's gd for breakfast 6 Euros. Claire's and most of
There do a three course set menu for 9 Euros! food was lovely everywhere we went to except for our first night.
Our apartment was a superior 1 bedroom in block b, overlooking the small pool. It was basic but clean and had a nice balcony. My boys said the sofa bed wasn't comfy but the single beds were and the air conditioning a God send. There was a small TV with a few channels, a fridge, microwave and whistling kettle.
Maids came in everyday to clean up and change towels etc and did a great job.
We never stayed at the complex for evening entertainment. We ate out and chilled in bars like on the rocks. Wine 1 euro beer 2 and cocktails 3*50. Lots of good Irish bars too! The snug and croke park excellent. My son lost his wallet in croke park and Seamus the singer found it and handed it in with his 200 Euros on it!
Loved Portugal and villa Rosa just had a bad start to the holiday but it was sorted. Would we go again?
Yes but definitely self catering g. The 590 Euros refunded more than paid for eating out and drinks at night.

Room Tip: We were in block b overlooking small pool. Quiet apart from seagulls!

The hotel is very clean, the gardens are beautiful & the staff are friendly. I had a superior room in the main hotel which did look a little dated and the fridge was very noisy, if I was to go again i would go for room only. We could always get sunbeds together 9 adults & 4 children in the party as long as we were down by 10.30. The breakfast & snacks at the pool bar area were very good & reasonably priced. A ten minute walk to the strip or taxi for 3 Euros 50. This hotel was recommed to us as we were in Portugal for a Wedding if I am ever to go back to Priaia da Rocha I would gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: A 1 bedroom apartment would be good, away from the noisy fridge.

Just returned from VilaRosa. Booked holiday through RCI and looking at some of the previous reviews we were a little bit hesitant of what to expect. We were very pleasantly suprised, what a lovely resort, the gardens were immaculate and looked lovely and the pools were very inviting. The apartment was extremely spacious, and although very plain, it was clean and best of all we overlooked the small swimming pool and had a lovely little garden to sit in with its own olive tree. As my husband suffers with Parkinsons we used the pool bar a lot during the holiday as we found it more convenient than walking into Praia de Rocha. The food very tasty and very reasonably priced. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and would recommend this resort to anyone.

Spent 6 nights here, booked the cheapest room online with travel republic and the room was big and clean and would have done me but the view and balcony were not the best so we ended up paying 12 euros a night for an upgrade. .Cant fault room, all been renovated , plenty tv channels(BIO, HISTORY ,MTV FOX etc). The whole complex is very well maintained and laid out with 2 pools, mini mart, etc. 10 min walk to beach and main strip.Best tip is to go to LIDL or Aldi which is opposite way.(get map from reception, easy to get there) and only took 15 mins or 4 euro in taxi to get big shopping in as local supermarkets were a rip off. There is also a big shopping centre and mcdonalds all close together. .The Shopping mall has all types of shops and a huge supermarket(Continente) on ground floor. All in all very good holiday, any questions just ask

Stayed at these apartments 8years ago, still as good. Excellent value for money. It's very clean, staff very helpful. Eat twice in the restaurant very good. Location would not be everyone's cup of tea as it's a good walk into Praia da Rocha, but for those who wish it a little quieter it's great. Will go back again.

Room Tip: All the apartments we have stayed in have been good (one bedroom) either overlooking tennis courts o...
