“Beautiful location nice rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

We had 2 rooms facing the water with breakfast included. The hotel is on a hill that you need to walk down to get to the water, but you can either use stairs to a ramp to get up and down so good for families with children in buggies.
The rooms were furnished very nice with in room wifi, comfortable beds and pillows, air conditioning and balcony was great.
The breakfast was very nice with a large continental choice of foods.
We did not eat lunch or dinner there.
The staff were helpful and they did offer some activities during the day for various ages that we did not partake in except one time archery that ended up being more for small kids.
The beach below was fabulous. The weekend is filled with locals and during the week it is empty. This is a family hotel and one filled with a lot of Germans, British and some Americans. They speak English and German.
The beach also offers surfing school and kite boarding at the end of the beach, but this is NOT part of the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel. It has beautiful grounds and its a stones throw away from a huge beach. It is mainly set up for Spanish customers but most of the staff speak English. It did give us and our children (15 and 12) to practice our spanish. We visited in the first week of August and had BB. The breakfast is great with everything you can imagine on the buffet and staff were always happy to set a table outside on the patio for us. A bit early for us to drink sparkling wine. Although we were missing the must have accessory of a baby. Everyone else seemed to have at least 3 and we did have to try and steer clear of the children's entertainment early evening. We didn't really stay in the hotel in the evening as we preferred to go into Conil which is a ten minute walk away. It's a lively little seaside town with shops, restaurants and bars open late. Great to wander round and enjoy browsing, sitting outside eating tapas and having a glass of Sangria. They did have entertainment in the hotel including singers, spanish dancers and clowns. The hotel has two sides and we were put in the more modern side. We were a little disappointed as the older side is what we had viewed on the website and liked. However, we didn't see the rooms in the older side and we were told they are smaller. We asked for a sea view which was more of a pool view - we could see the sea in the background. They had daily activities. We took part in Archery, shooting, volleyball and water polo. Our children are too old for the kids club and it was conducted mainly in Spanish although the entertainers did speak good English. They were friendly and they allowed our 12 year old to take part in most of the adult programme. Except the staff V clients volleyball (very serious:) We didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast as there are lots of nice beach bars/restaurant right outside on the beach. It does have lovely terraces perfect for sunset drinks. The weather was of course lovely but we found it cooler than our previous week near Murcia. It didn't really warm up most day until after 1pm but we found getting up later and staying out at the beach or pool until after 8 as most of the Spanish holiday makers did suited us perfectly. It was a lovely relaxed week and we couldn't fault the service, cleanliness or location of the hotel. You do have to pay for the car park and need a card from reception so check in first but our bags were brought promptly to our rooms.

We spent 6 days in this hotel for a summer break. The premises are beautiful, we really like the style of the interiors. The room and bathroom ware spacious, with a nice balcony, the cleaning always properly done. The staff is definitely extremely good, kind and professional, including all the maids, and they truly contributed to make our stay very pleasant.
The pool area is gorgeous, plenty of space with many sunbeds both around the pool and in the garden, we never had problems finding space even thought they hotel was clearly fully booked and even when we were going to the pool in the late morning. I loved the main pool, very big going as deep as 2.5m. The hotel was hosting many young families so children was playing a lot in the pool area where games for them are organised daily. We do not have kids but we found this very nice, and we enjoyed watching the entertainment.
The guests were 90% Spanish (which I was expecting and looking for!).
The beach is a short walk away, and there are a couple of restaurants right in front of the sea with amazing seafood.
We were impressed by the breakfast offer, there was so much to choose from that it was almost overwhelming! I also found they have lactose-free milk and margarine, which for me was a huge plus as I am lactose intolerant.

Now the downsides.

I understand it is a hotel with mostly Spanish guests, however it is unacceptable for a 4 stars to have staff who do not speak English. All staff at the reception speak English, as well as most of the staff at the breakfast restaurant, but waiters at the bar do not, at all.

There is no ventilation system in the bathroom, or if there is, our was not working.

We used the bar a few times and we do not mind spending money on holidays if worth it, but when we received a seriously tiny salad for 11 euros we were a bit astonished. We tried other dishes though, which were very good.

Last and biggest flaw. We booked a double room, sea-front. Now, when you book sea-front, and you pay more for it, you expect to be sea-front. Our room was definitely not. It was facing the pool and you could see the ocean far on the left. We went to the reception to bring this up, and the person we talked to was extremely nice and polite. However he insisted on the fact that that room was indeed sea-front, because if you stepped out and turned left, you could see the ocean in front of you... (?). Noticing our being puzzled he proposed to us other 2 rooms. However one was right in front the bar stage where very loud music and shows go on until 11pm, and the second one was not as pretty as the original room. So we decided to stay in the not-so-sea-front room. They said that the actual sea-front rooms are the Exclusive Rooms only. Honestly I think that the definition of the room categories is extremely misleading, unclear and incorrect. I highly recommend to the hotel management to review the categories definition and to be more clear on their website, because despite being overall very satisfied with the hotel, this fact was rather annoying, considering that if you are up for paying more for front-sea view, you actually really want sea-front view.

Just back (10th July) from first trip to Spain after a lifetime of hols in Italy, Austria etc and were delighted with nearly every aspect of this superb hotel. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned and all towels, bedding etc changed as often as requested. Staff were helpful, polite and extremely friendly in all aspects BUT did not know how to deal with very rowdy children at the main pool. We are a family and understand the need for the kids to enjoy themselves and have fun but the number of 'yelling and screaming' kids there did spoil it for others. This problem aside, the breakfast buffets were fantastic, varied, fresh and no rush. The hotel is sited at the edge of the town on the beach. We only booked bed and breakfast and this allowed us to walk along the beautiful promenda in to the pretty town of Conil a few minutes away which had so many excellent and varied restaurants and tapas experiences which we loved! The beach was clean, wide, uncrowded and since it is the Atlantic has tides which offer up lovely flat sand walks.

We also visited the lovely old town of Vejer about twenty minutes drive away and this rooftop town is full of winding streets and very stylish restaurants etc.

Room Tip: Front sea view rooms are worth the extra.

We apologize for the rowdy children at the pool. This is a family hotel and at the moment we have a lot of families with children, because they are on summer holidays. I am really sorry if they were too loud, we will try to take care with this matter.

We went to this hotel with friends who were on their sixth visit. The rooms were excellent, cool, clean and just the right size. There are lots of pools both large and small for the whole family. Food was very good and breakfast was superb, the choice was enormous. The staff were very smart and friendly and patient with us as our Spanish was very limited as was their English. The hotel appears to cater mainly for Spanish and German guests as most of the notices etc were Spanish first then in German and English third or fourth. This did not bother us at all but if you were on your own and only speak English it would be easy to feel isolated. We were approached one evening by the cry "ah! you speak English", it was a lovely couple from Australia who were finding it a strain not having anyone to talk to. The gardens and grounds are wonderful and there are more than enough sun loungers for all in all types of situations i.e. on grassed areas, quiet spots or by the kids pools etc. You are only a short walk from a fantastic beach or into the small town of Conil which has lots of small places to eat lovely food.

We used this as a base for exploring Cadiz, Seville, and costa luz. It was great to come back to a beautiful beach at the end of the day. The town is charming and there are many good restaurants. The hotel is absolutely beautiful!!

The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and recommend restaurants etc. We had an issue with delayed baggage from US and they worked nonstop on the phone to help us retrieve it.

Christina Molina Capilla at front desk was particularly nice. She really made our stay fantastic.

Room Tip: we had ocean view and it was worth extra $$

Just returned from a weekend stay in this hotel. Check in was quick and efficient. We had booked though booking.com and requested a cot for our baby. This message had not got through to the hotel so we had to wait about 30 minutes for that to be sorted out. I believe we were upgraded for this inconvenience.

Room was lovely and clean and a good size. There was a balcony which overlooked the pool area and the sea. Huge bed! The room was very nice however there did seem to be a problem with the air conditioning which made it very uncomfortable to sleep at night. Had it not been for a sleeping baby fast a sleep in the cot, we would have asked to move. I think that this is unacceptable considering the price you are paying for the room.

Pool area was lovely. Always found loungers. Nice combination of tiled areas and grass. We found that ideal for the baby to play. The grounds of the hotel are immaculately kept and there is even a vegetable patch. Good access down to the beach. Really nice baby pool ideal for babies and children.

Breakfast is amazing. Plenty of choice and good quality. Excellent service from waiting staff. Had lunch at the restaurant beside the pool. Very nice but on the expensive side.

Secure parking available for a small cost.

Overall a lovely stay and I'm sure we will be back at some point.
