“Really enjoyed our stay here.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2012

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel. The grounds and garden were immaculate. Really enjoyed the food, you would certainly not starve here! Staff very friendly. The rooms were spotless, although we were allocated a rather small one with a balcony with just enough room for one person! but we didn't spend much time in the room so that didn't bother us. Plenty of entertainment for the kiddies and adults (the "Take That" Tribute band were excellent! and the Bingo caller was hillarious, I don't play bingo, but it was so funny!) Beautiful surroundings with plenty to do out and about, Gibraltar being only an hour or so drive away. The only downside was on the day before we were leaving, a stag party of rowdy Brits checked in, although harmless, were very noisy around the pool and bar area and the more the booze flowed, the noisier they became, but overall a thoroughly enjoyable week, would definately return as long as they banned stag and hen parties

Room Tip: Try and request one with a bigger balcony if you like to spend time there.

My neice and myself have just returned last night from a 4 night/5 day break to this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews and because we only booked it last week but once there my fears were no more.

The hotel doesn't really have anything around it except 2 bars and a small shop, we didn't frequent the bars but the little shop was very good. The hotel is really really good, the food was plentiful and as said by a previous reviewer if you couldn't find something to suit your palette you were hard to please. Maybe it wasn't "haute cuisine" but was edible. The rooms were very basic but were scrupulously clean, towels changed everyday etc and had free air conditioning. It seems as though most people were AI and you never had to wait more than a few seconds to be served at the bar and the measures were really generous and most drinks were included in the AI. There are 4 swimming pools if you include the kiddies pool but most people seemed to congregate around the main pool and sunbeds and brollies were always available. There is a young girl who does holistic treatments and manicures and pedicures etc but obviously these are at an additional charge. Every member of staff that we encountered were polite and curteous and there were a lot of them. The entertainment was ok after a hard days's sunbathing and included the presentation of certificates for competition winners during the day if that's your thing. As for the stag and hen parties, yes, there were parties of males and parties of females but about 10 minutes after the bar closed at midnight all was quiet, we didn't find it a problem at all.

All in all, this is a great hotel for a 4/5 day short break but think it would get a little repetitive for any longer. The worst thing was the two and a half hour transfer time from and to the airport.

Will definitely return and think other reviewers who were not impressed are very hard to please for the price you pay.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room, they have bigger outside space.

We paid under £200 each for 1 week 19th May-26th.
After getting lost from airport & driving round for 2 hours we finally stumbled across the hotel (located just before san pedro) check in was easy and we were given room 1345 (by the tennis courts and very quiet) beautiful big room with a welcome bottle of water and fresh fruit & fresh flowers on the bed with a heart made from towels..
My only complaint is that after a long delay and driving round we were pretty starving but as it was 1am we could not get any food- (suggestion to hotel that they request arrival time of guests so they can have a snack ready for the guest)
Sunbeds were always available round the main pool by the restaurant and it isnt all that noisy (maybe we were the noisy ones if we didnt notice that)
Food was lovely (having stayed in 5 star hotels this food was by far the best!) Food included fresh muscles, noodle dishes, rice dishes, meat dishes and endless salads! not your average all inclusive chips & meat! Breakfast was my favourite meal though with fresh eggs, beans, sausages etc!
Drinks available all day but recommend you stay clear of the vodka! Was not nice at all.
If you go to Buddies after the hotel bar shuts at 12 its a great atmosphere kareoke and an amazing pizza!
We went to Puerto Banus every night (€8 in taxi) and loved it (been here for the last 7 years and doesnt get boring) We went to the english square shopping and the Hipocor department store is amazing if your a shopper!
Our room was cleaned daily (not sure what time as we were up and out by 9) but we had fresh towels & sheets each day.
I highly recommend this hotel & am booking up for the same week next year :-)

(10 day beak June 2012) In comparison to all inclusive cheap beaks I've taken in turkey, Majorca and the canaries this hotel is by far the winner. You definitely get more than what you pay for in comparison to say turkey where its always 'all includive light 'with snacks only in afternoon and the 4 stars are like 2 stars ...at cortijo blanco you actually get a decentall inclusive from pre brekkie coffees and cakes from about 6am to toasties and chips etc til 11:45pm if you go in a happy mood make an effort to be friendly you'll have an amazing time! Coffees, various teas(including peppermint, camomile), mineral water and fruit juices (these are strong i tended to fill a glass then split it between 2 and add water to dilute it)readily available in snack bar and main restaurant and there is also wine in main restaurant. I never paid for one drink like others say but noticed wine ittled fir same in maun restaurant and I had various drinks including sangria, baileys, cocktails, soft drinks, milkshake, cava, vodka, larger. They will happily make a packed lunch up or an early brekki if you book day before. There are 4 pools, 1 large main(deep) pool with a paddling pool next to that and then another large pool but shallower one over the road next to shooting/archery grounds and then a larger kids pool/knee deep one next to tennis court. Grounds clean staff very polite and they pretty much all can all speak French, German, Dutch, English and Spanish.the children's activity team are fab and there is lots of activities like an aqua ball on the main pool, shuffle board, ping pong, archery, shooting for adults, volley ball, darts, javelot and everyone cheers everyone on. There is also a couple of swings and a slide/climbing frame near ping pong tables. No problem with any of Spanish guests at all and there was a few French guests too. Only hotel I've ever been too where I could leisurely walk out at any time of day to any pool and get a subbed ... There areLOADS yes some people go In morning to get fave spot but that's at like 9/10am no rushing about at 6am honest and there is a sun terrace too.. Room i stayed in next ti tennis court had air con free but looked out to a Hedgeon farthest away block but it was cleaned daily (which I've never had on cheap AI hol before) and I had two young kids so loved the fact it was cooler, thought about moving to main stage area so could watch entertainment with kids in bed from backny but my 3 year old loved the mini disco and shows so they stayed up . anyway.they are reasonably modern and with some some minor faults you get anywhere but my baby was provided with a decent travel cot with mattress and bedding and the bar staff happily cleaned his bottles bottles properly for me (he's 1 so they didn't need sterilising just a good hot wash) they also happily topped it up with milk.room bins, floors etc done every day.you can hear people walking in corridors but I never encountered anything too noisy that lasted more than couple of mins usually people with suitcases leaving or arriving and we did have a noisy neighbour 1st two nights but they left and then that was it. Grounds are very pretty and full if flowers so if have hayfever take sime antihistimins so you can enjoy the scent and beauty.San pedro de alcantara is a good walk away for young kids but we took a buggy board so no worries there and theres a fab little playground on the way and an ice cream hut half way.Puerto banus expensive but no problems with hotel
Ordering taxi it was there in about 3 mins outside the car park barrier. Overall for what we paid, the journey was def worth it.

If you want a quiet holiday DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL, The hotel is very clean and the staff are great they have to put up with a lot from the guests, i was not proud to be English their were a lot of Hen and Stag nights. I understand from other guests who have been before it was not like it is now. Very nice hotel and great Gardens and great staff they do a wonderful job.

We travelled to this hotel the last week in May of 2012 for a quiet cheap break. It was not exactly what we had in mind.
We booked through Travel Republic, and good a good deal. We had a private transfer from the airport which was well worth booking as we only made 2 other drop offs, both very close to our resort. The total drive took just over an hour.
The hotel is just off a main road, yet you wouldn't know this once inside. Check in was all fine, reception staff spoke english and were quite polite.
When we were walking through the hotel to our room, we had to pass through the entertainment area. This was really noisy every night with lots of hen/stag partys which were really loud. The music could be heard all over the complex and did not finish until just before 12am. People returning to their rooms at all hours of the morning woke us up every night we were there. The walls are paper thin, so if you are a light sleeper - AVOID!
We opted for half board - we seemed to be the only ones who hadn't stayed all inclusive, but we were glad! The breakfast was the usual cooked buffet style, with a very small selection of pastries. It was the same choice everyday.
The dinner was absolutely vile. It can only be described as pre-heated oven cooked food. The items mentioned by other reviews that were 'fresh' each day, were most definitely not fresh! We didnt bother with desserts as they looked some sort of jelly product and the odd cream cake. My boyfriend also had severe stomach cramps and vomiting due to the food!! After the first 2 nights we ate out every night.
Hotel does offer a free bus to Puerto Banus where we went every night (to escape the awful entertainment), but the only bus in the evening was at 7pm, which meant being ready to go quite early! The bus even though it was free was very out dated! If you wanted to get a taxi, this cost 7 euros there, and usually 10 on the way back as it was later. The port is lovely and I would definitely recommend escaping to there!!
The staff in the hotel on a whole were quite rude, and didnt like to help too much. We asked for a taxi to be called a few nights, and waited outside for at least 30minutes each time - I dont think they actually made the calls!!
The rooms were very basic, but clean. The cleaning started every morning around 8am, so if you like to lie in later than this - Good Luck!
We had to pay for the use of the safe - I would recommend this as we wouldnt of left our valuables out. This cost 35euros, 10euros was refunded when we left.
We also had to pay to keep the room late on the day we were leaving. Check out time is 12pm, we wanted to keep the room until 6pm, and had to pay 27.50euros to do so.

Overall, if you are looking for a quiet break, this hotel is not for you!
If you do not mind the noise, and will be taking part in the awful entertainment then you will love it!
We will not be returning!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back by the tennis court are quieter. If you are a light sleeper this is a MUST!

After travelling the world myself I initially wanted to show my children and partner what was on offer. After going to the hotel cortijo blanco we could not resist but to revisit with very friendly staff that make you feel warm an welcome it was hard not to.

On arrival you are given a map of the hotel and "house rules" they are nothing too strict but ensure a good holiday is provided for everyone . After walking to our room we were surprised at how spacious it was. It is a simple room with general necessaries available. Quilts and covers are also provided (hidden in the cupboard for those cold nights) along with air conditioning for the sweaty ones!

The food is a varied buffet style I highly recommend eating the salad with either fish or meat as eating chips each night a the British are accustomed to can be repetitive, go for the fresh food it's the best, especially the fish!!. Bar staff are very friendly and are okay to laugh and joke with you whilst maintaining a professional role.

The hotel is located next to a very busy road when we first so the road I thought that it would be very noisy inside the hotel, but as soon as you enter the doors it is silent as well as in the gardens = heaven. The road provides access and a free shuttle bus to puerto banus which I recommend. Long walks along the beach are made fun with excercise machines and elephant shaped showers, but I would not recommend sun bathing here as it is very pebbly.

As a very family based hotel there are often kids around, especially by the pool but daily activities ensure they are occupied( and tired by the night time). If you find them too noisy by the pool pop up to the sun terrace.

Make sure you ask at reception also to see when the markets are on locally, there is a great atmosphere and you can often find some bargains. Also check out the bazaar shops in San pedro (10 minutes walk) for great cheap gifts although you may have to hunt around in them a bit!

Overall great holiday, my daughter is returning on her own with her boyfriend in the summer. I am sure he will be 100% safe staying here, and have a great time I'm not sure I could say that about most hotels I've visited. *****
