we have just returned from a lovely week at this hotel. yes there is a busy road and the majority of the customers are french, so what? once in the hotel you don't notice the road and the french, on the whole were very pleasent. this hotel has a friendly feel about it, its like waliking around a small spanish village. our room was difficult to find but it just added to the adventure, the room was clean and big enough for 3 beds, towels changed everyday. all the staff were friendly and helpful, they all worked very hard. the food, for a 3 star hotel, was excellent, always a good varity. we planned to eat out a couple of times but didn't bother! the drinks are good, judging from the hangovers, the entertainment was aimed at the french, you can go to the sister hotel for entertainment. we had drinks at the happy hour at cheers bar and guinness at the irish bar, emeralds, both just around the corner, then back to the hotel. this is not a hotel for the young and all inclusive is a must because its not cheap to eat and drink out and about. as said before you can get the shuttle bus from the airport to marbella for under 5 euros and then the no 27 bus goes pasted the hotel every half hour for 1.20 euros. if you go to marbella get off the bus at the fountains and head left into the old town, you can find very spanish bars with tapas and a good atmosphere.

If you can get over the useless unfriendly staff who cant help you with anything then you will have a ok time. porta banus is 2 stops on the bus from the main rd right next to the hotel or 30min walk. which has a nice beach. no wine/viniger at tea if you dont get there as soon as they open. cant get a sunlounger unless you get there before 10am.

We went to this hotel as a last minute deal. Read the reviews before we went and were a bit dubious about everything being French, but figured we would just get on with it and enjoy the holiday.
The hotel itself was lovely, really nice layout like a little village. The room wasn't big, but was fine for two of us, had full air conditioning and a nice big bathroom with a shower in the bath. Everywhere was kept really clean and the food was a bit repetetive, but there was plenty of choice for each meal. There is only water and wine available in the eating area - if you want a juice or a beer with your meal you have to take your chances at the bar and fetch your drinks from across the road.
The pool and bar are across a small road - pool is huge with loads of sun beds but I wouldn't recommend trying to sit round it and relax through the day unless your idea of a good time is having your eardrums assaulted by continuous french babble shouted over speakers by over enthusiastic reps playing games in the bar area. (you can't see what's going on, but they make sure everyone within a 50 meter radius can hear every word!)
The entertainment at night is all in French, although I see from other reviews that there is english entertainment in the other hotel nearby, but we were never told that we could use the facilities in the other hotel, so the entertainment and terrible bar staff usually meant we ended up going to one of the local bars in the evening - not ideal when we had paid for all inclusive.
The bar staff deserve a special mention as I have never been made to feel so unwelcome anywhere I have ever been - they were lazy, rude and openly hostile at times. We would quite often spend at least 15 minutes at the bar waiting to be served while the two staff members either went to watch the entertainment, hid out the back smoking, or just chased each other round the bar throwing ice at each other! When they weren't busy doing any of the above they would just blankly ignore us. We tried to smile and be friendly, even ordering every drink in spanish, but they clearly weren't interested in having British people in the hotel as they would fall over themselves to serve French and Spanish people. Oh - and be aware that a bottle of water from the bar is not included in the all inclusive package.
If you are considering this hotel, don't bother with the bar - it's just not worth how much it ruins the holiday. There is a lovely little irish bar round the corner called the Emerald Bar and if you fancy a change from the hotel buffet, the pizza restaurant a couple of doors away is fantastic and really good value - there's not much cheap around this area!
All in all, the hotel is nice but the staff are awful and the all inclusive is not worth the money unless you eat all your meals in the hotel because you certainly won't get any value from the drinks at the bar!

This is a good 3 star hotel. You did not pay for a 4 or 5 star hotel so don't expect 5 star. The rooms are spacious and well laid out,the layout is like a spanish courtyard, nice and relaxed. The pool and bar are across the road, the pool is large and does not open till 09.15am and there is no mad rush to put towels on beds. The bar service was good and you were able to order more than 2 drinks. The food was good not spoilt for choice but more than enough choice .The hotel is 80% french guests and all the entertainment is in french but you can use the sister hotel 50 yards away Cortijo Blanco which is mainly British for entertainment and drinks in the evening. It is 20 minutes walk into Port Banus to see the nice yachts.I would be happy to use this hotel again

stayed at this hotel for a week was fantastic. Was mostly french people who were here but there was a sister hotel next door to ours which was full of brittish people and you could go there for the entertainment as our entertainment was in french. The food was great but the last 2 nights i wasnt so keen on what was on it was a spanish night and was mostly fish which i dont like and the next night was rabbit and turkey which again i dont like but the rest of the nights there was a big selection including chicken, pork, veil and there was always a fish dish. Pool is absolutely massive and we never had a bother getting a sunbed. You are a little bit outside marbella town but theres a bus every 20mins to the town and it takes about 20 mins to get there. At the hotel theres a wee shop and theres a man who is outside doing day trips its called Vivandalucia they are cheaper than everywhere else and they are english which makes a big difference we went to the water park and the day trip to Gibraltar in Gibraltar we done the rock tour highly recommeded. Would defo go back.

A bit late writing this review, we are a family of five and went to this hotel; well we were transfered to this hotel after booking into Cortijo Blanco. Didn't get a reason why, but looking at the hotel pool and bar we guess we were lucky. After checking in off we went to our rooms, which were 153-154. These were to the back of the hotel. Small road beside our rooms but quiet enough. Rooms were clean, air con and fan worked. The size of the balcony were small. Excellent maid service, the room were cleaned every days onwards with clean towels etc. The pool was best part of our hoilday as it was very large and the sun lounges were 'pick where you need to get the sun' as there were loads of them. The bar beside the pool serve as the entertainment side, drinks were 'san miguel' or cheap spirits which after downing 10 vodka and cokes one night I was sick as a donkey, I guess being all All Inclusive your mind tell you 'it's all free'. The bar staff there spoke very little English but friendly enough. As for the entertainment... It sort of relieved the boredom. There about 10 french staff there whom does all the entertainments. Some parts were very good and funny, some parts when they did the pantamine which was a eye closer and boring as you didn't understand a word they were saying. 'mercis foo foo' and more beer is all I said to them. The food in the restaurant was good, nile perch one night, rabbit and veal the othe nites and the salad bar made for veggies, can get busy some dinners as seating is first come first sevre. Eat outside the restaurant area and the flys from the swiming pool will follow and bug you. Eat eat and never did I complain once. The table tennis and squash need upgrading, The tennis courts ok. the pool tables should be free, 1 euro to play. We had a rental car from the airport which was from 'record go' company.. Never again.
The first car was a total mess. We had to change car once because of the dents and flat tire. Had a few trips out to Gibraltar which is about 40 minutes drive on the costa road, cheap fags and drinks, Burgar kings was pricey, shops everywhere bargins to be had. Did go to 'rancho grill on the marbella road one evening which was quite 'DISGUSTING'. Steaks were like leather shoes, ants everywhere, service very slow, owner didn't even smile, very rude. cost a forture, they even had the cheek to slap a service charge on the bill which came to about 20 euros (got the bill to show), I wouldn't even entertain a dog there any time. 95% of the guest at the hotel were french, one or two friendly ,most didn't even look at you let alone smile. We met some english couples there beside our pool. If you like a cheap and quiet holiday then this is for you. Small kids family ok, but not much to do for the kids there, only the pool and a little play area. Did notice the young french kids having a creche and a member of the entertainment staff look after them alday. We met a young couple there from wolves and they seem to enjoy it. We also came across another couple from our own home town which was a shock! Wouldn't go there again, because mainly nothing to do around the hotel, busy road outside, the porta banus bar pricey. Fuengirola zoo worth a shout if you can find it, took us 2 hours going round Fuengirola town, did try to find the market there but without any luck. Wanted to park and walk but after 1 hour driving round and round looking for a parking spot give up and headed back to the hotel, a day wasted. On the hotel area there a supermarket and a couple of English bar outside the hotels. Beach restaurants there about 3 of them didn't venture there so couldn't say. A sun, foods ,drinks all you can holiday. Do learn french as this would help.

Hotel rooms were very spacious and extremely clean. Food was okay but not much variety. Desserts were very nice though. Well situated with Puerto Banus only a 20 minute walk away. Buses run every half hour to Puerto Banus and Marbella with a very reasonable fare of 1 euro 15 per person. They run at 15 and 45 mins past the hour just up the road from the hotel. The swimming pool is very large and kept very clean but has a maximum depth of 2.70 metres. There is also a children's pool. Entertainment was in french as were all the information notices. The Cortijo Blanco next door to the pueblo andaluz caters mainly for british guests. There is a bus that runs from Malaga Airport to Marbella which costs 4 euros 30 per person and in the summer it runs until midnight. A taxi from Marbella to the hotel costs between 16 and 18 euros one way. The bus is an airport shuttle bus and is non stop from Malaga airport to Marbella. Staff were friendly in the hotel. Overall the hotel was lovely and we would recommend it for a good value and enjoyable holiday.
