“Fantastic hotel - don't pay more!!”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 via mobile

We stayed at this hotel in mid July and I will definitely be back. The rooms are very basic and no aircon but there is a fan and that served us well. The rooms are very clean and cleaners came every day. The staff were lovely, extremely helpful and always greeted you with a smile. Mario was on reception for most of the time we were there and he couldn't have looked after us any better :) we had to check out by 12 but had a later flight so they kept our luggage in a room behind reception and gave us access to a shower and towels so we could enjoy our day. Mario also arranged us a private transfer to the airport for 25 euros which was cheaper than a taxi.

The hotel is situated behind the westend, quite a few streets up so you're a 5 minute walk down to the westend and 10 to the waterfront/marina. It's a very quiet area and the hotel itself is very quiet so you can actually sleep when you're finished partying!!

Overall I thought this was a fantastic find, a gem of a hotel with a great location and I would stay there again and again! The hotel cost us just £40 a night for a twin room, and at peak season in Ibiza, this is an absolute bargain!! Xx

Absolute gem of a hostel. Although it's not a hostel as I know a hostel, I'd say it's simply a small hotel.

We arrived here - myself and my girlfriend - after previously previously staying at Ibiza Rocks Hotel for 10 nights of our 12 night holiday. We booked this place to go chill out for a couple of days ourselves before heading back to reality. This little hotel turned out to be exactly what we needed. On arrival at 10 am, we were greeted by a polite Spanish lady, who made a quick phone call to her mother who was cleaning the rooms to find out if a room was ready for us - which it probably wasn't, but they gave us a room that was anyway - very accommodating!

The room itself was spotlessly clean. Basic, but clean. You pay extra for air-con, but this was early June and it didn't feel necessary. Our room had a fridge, I assume all others do as well. The bed was very comfortable, massive improvement on the concrete slabs of Ibiza Rocks Hotel. The hotel at night was really quiet, great for a sleep. Our room was cleaned each day of our stay. It's located north in San An, on the outskirts, quieter area of town. 5 min walk to west-end. Great local bars around, though, with much cheaper prices than the west-end or other part of San Antonio.

The hotel itself has a bar which offers snacks. They even throw in a free breakie, which we never had, so can't comment on that. No pool at this hotel, but you are allowed to use the pool at the sister hotel, Hostal Marino, which is round the corner. Their pool is great, with a good bar serviced by an extremely friendly Spanish barman.

Do not hesitate to book this hotel, I will again, a great find!

This quaint hostel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even staying late to check me in when my flight was delayed. The room was very clean and well maintained, I had my own small fridge for drinks and small food items. The pool is located at another building but that was a minor inconvenience. Thank you to the staff for a great stay!

Though it's only a 2 star hostal, it's 4 stars to us. We've stayed here twice before and the staff actually recognized us this time! It's one of the cheapest hotels in San Antonio, but far from run down. Everything is clean and well maintained, definitely NOT a party hotel, it's quietly tucked away in the North Eastern part of town. Easy access to the highway, restaurants and the sunset strip by car (a little further on foot, but not terribly inconvenient). If you stay here, you have access to the pool at their sister hotel, The Marino, just three blocks away.

We stayed this time for two and a half weeks, they lent us extra linen, towels, cutlery and dishes as needed, and really made us feel at home. Though they had to move our room, we received the unexpected benefit of a private terrace. It was interior to the hotel and had no view, but it was still nice to have the extra room none the less. Can't quite remember the room number, but we know it was the interior room on the second floor.

If you're on a tight budget and are looking for the best deal in town, we highly recommend staying here.

Basic facilities, has everything you need. Includes a decent breakfast. Given the price. I would stay here again. Apparently they have a pool, but I didn't see one.

Only bad thing is that it is a bit further from the beach than others.

I booked to stay here as was looking for a cheap place to stay as a solo traveller.
Good location near to San An bus station and a 10min walk to the West End.
Stayed in a single room which was clean and came with a fridge and a fan.
Due to it being very hot the fan wasn't enough to keep the room cool enough which I though would be the case.
Other than that a pleasant stay, nice cheap bar and the sister hotel has a nice pool available to use.

We stayed in Montaña during our first trip together to IBZ in 2010 and we loved it. So we decided to return.

For all of you who are looking to stay in Ibiza under a budget, but like good service, look no further. Both Montaña and Marino are family owned, and located just two blocks from each other! If you stay in Montaña you have access to the Marino swimming pool.

Rooms are clean and spacious. Which is all you really need as a base. Our room had a balcony, a minibar and a fan, and two beds. The minibar is great to store a few bottles of water and some food. Please keep in mind that is a "minibar" and not a fridge. And although is not big in size, it serves the purpose more than well. We don't like AC and slept more than comfortably with the fan on and window open. In fact, we got cold a few nights. Then again, we live in a place with warm weather, so your experience may differ. Our room rate included a small breakfast in the bar, which consisted of coffee, juice, a small piece of bread with butter, a slice of ham and cheese and a pastry.
What we really love about this hostal is the location, which is perfect if you want to enjoy Ibiza (Or Sant Antoni) but being able to sleep comfortably as well. Carrer de Roma (where the hostal is situated) is a backstreet in Sant Antoni, therefore you do not get any of the noise and screams that you may find in the harbor or central area. In fact, you will be staying in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. To us, that was perfect. We were able to party when we wanted to and then get some much needed sleep. In addition, you have a supermarket 3 blocks away and other little shops (including a bakery, a general store, a library full of different newspapers and more) So we were able to buy all of our supplies right there at a great price. Another bonus, you are just 8 minutes away from the bus stop. And if you rent a car (we did this time) you have plenty of parking around the area.

Besides the location, another thing that keeps us coming back is the service. Mari at the front desk is just FANTASTIC and provides truly 5 star service (I have worked in hospitality many years, including the first 5 diamond resort in the Caribbean, so I know what I am talking about) As soon as we walked in she remembered us, although she saw us two years ago! That was just amazing and made us feel *at home*. They also placed us in the same room we had in our previous visit! In addition, she provides great recommendations for restaurant, beaches and everything in between.

Her mom, one of the owners, works in the morning with the housekeeping service. And trust me, if the owner cleans your room, you can be certain that it will be thoroughly cleaned!

All in all, considering the great value, location and excellent service, we know we will be returning every time we visit our beloved Ibiza. We absolutely recommend it to those traveling in a budget but looking for a nice stay.

Room Tip: Book online since during season they tend to be pretty full. Also, books in the back of the building...
