Hotel Galera
Reviewed 25 August 2011

The galera is in a fantastic location littrally less than a five minute walk to the west end and the beach. The rooms are stupidly basic litrally two beds and a table we didn't even have a bin or chairs on our balcony! However they where cleaned everyday without fail with our beds been changed about 3times during a week so that's fantastic. Staff are feeindly enough but a lack of English speakers working at the hotel makes things tricky sometimes however the 18-30 reps where spot on. Food and drink at the bar Is naff and over priced but tonnes of places nearby that do decent food&drink at good prices so that's not a worry either. And don't botther with the pool just go to the beach it's much nicer... All in all the hotel is basic but clean and freindly atmosphere but it's the location that saves it! Would recommend :)

We stayed here on the 10th June 2011 for a week with club 18-30's. Hotel is in a brilliant location only 5 minutes walk from the beach and the same from the west end where all the bars are. The pool area is ok too, a little small but still ok. The rooms are basic but spacious and have a nice balcony. Downside is that the beds weren't changed whilst we were there and it was only cleaned once. Overall a well located hotel and for that reason I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the football pitch!!

Me and four friends travelled to Ibiza for 18-30 holiday. We had got a great deal on the hotel so was expecting it to be basic. Our room was big and the hotel wasn't as noisy and rowdy as we'd expected. The hotel's pool is quite small but not far from a nice beach. Its five minute walk away from the nightlife so there is no need to spend money on taxis. The reps are friendly and theres lots of fun trips to go too. I would recommend this hotel, cheap and basic but lots of fun to be had!

Went to Ibiza in August 2010 with friends, such an amazing location, five minute walk to the West End and a 10 minute walk to Eden and Es Paradis. Hotel is quite small, remember it is only rated a 1 star so its not going to be amazing, but you're in Ibiza so it's not like you're gonna be spending loads of time in there. The pool is across the road and it's really small, you need to get down early in the morning to get a sunbed. There is a bar by the pool and they don't let you take you're own food and drink in. Small supermarket literally next door to the hotel with cheap alcohol, water and food.

DON'T TRUST THE REPS- When we went we had these two reps, Emily and Alan, who seemed really nice but they completly mugged us off. On the induction meeting at the beginning, they got us to buy this package with the 18-30s reps which they made out to be really good (booze cruise, free club entries, foam parties, club nights with cheap drinks etc), this costs us 230euros each and was a complete joke as all the clubs they got us into was free anyway and we didnt get any cheap alcohol!

Hotel is quite clean, we didnt get our sheets changed once in the whole week but i wasnt too bothered. You wouldnt change your sheets everyday at home anyway. They cleaned the bathroom near enough everyday, but they do come quite early, 11/12ish and most people are still asleep at that time so if they come and you're in bed they wont clean. Dont bother getting up early for breakfast because its rubbish, just walk to the west end and get a fry up for 4euros.

Ibiza is VERY expensive, you need about £800 if you want to go to all the major clubs and drink everyday. Overall i would return to this hotel! We literally only got ready in it and slept, it dosnt have air conditiong, just a fan on the wall which is annoying tho, espesically in August when it's baking!

well i stayed at the galera at the end of august.
it's a pretty basic hotel, no tv, no sofa, just a bed, table chair, bathroom and balconey, but who cares!. i had a view of a half decent stadium, where everyday there was football team training but never no matchs, which i actuly found funny.
your about a 5 minute walk from the main pubs, and about 1 minute closer to the beach.
despite others reviews, i myself actuly had a fan in my room, so maybe they were un-lucky. this hotel is very cheap. yes it's basic, but it's nice to relax. and it has got a bar and pool. if you can live without a tv in your room, then book the galera. nice staff. the guy who works at night is about 70 and looks scarey, but i suppose it keeps people in line.
ibiza is amazing. after 3 days i got used to the alchoal content!!haha.

We found the galera extremely basic, but we didn't expect a great deal more for the money we had paid for a Club 18-30 holiday in Ibiza.

Luckily, we travelled in september so the temperature at night was bearable, however no air con means I would not choose this mid season. Sleeping in the day would be impossible.

Breakfast was included but is very little. There was some bread and a toaster with orange juice....that's it!

The pool is small but clean and you can't take any of your own food and drink to it! The sun does go behind the hotel early on though so make sure you're up early to grab one of the few spaces to sunbathe!

The staff were helpful (especially the night worker) and our rep was fantastic, however we did hear stories of theft from the rooms and someone had seen the staff going into the rooms at night when almost everyone would be out clubbing. We hired a safety deposit box, as did the few others we knew, none of us problems.

Fantastic location! 5 mins from West End, 5 mins from the Egg and Supermarket next door (although it does close early). The road next to the Galera has a cafe on called Club Sandwich, run by English ladies and we had a true english breakfast there!! Really worth checking it out.

Finally, the measures served in the bar are UNREAL!!! 4€, it was smirnoff and I have never had a drink so strong. The barman is a legend!!

I'd recommend this hotel for people on a tight budget, travelling outside the height of season, and who aren't planning to spend too much time in the hotel. Overall, it was ok.
