“No Regrets!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

I'm a very cautious person when it comes to booking hotels and I like to read all the reviews, good and bad. I have to say I'm glad I bit the bullet and booked it. I came mid July 2014 with two other friends for an Ibiza clubbing holiday. It was nice because we could experience the clubbing but still retreat to a nice peaceful hotel when we returned.

From the minute we arrived they were very helpful. We went self catering so we asked if they had and bowls we could borrow for the week so we could have cereal in our rooms, which they gave to us and the cleaners even washed them up for us - no qualms. However next time I'd go half board because we ate at their buffet for dinner a few times which was €12 each but great value considering its salads, mains and desserts and really tasty food. (Still dreaming about those lamb chops)

This is the first year the hotel is offering club and event tickets to places like Pacha, Space, Ibiza Rocks, Es Paradis and Privilege to name a few. This made it easier to get tickets and they were sometimes cheaper than what the promoters were selling them for. Considering it was 30+ degrees daily, you need ample water which they sold at €2 for 5 litres which is a bargain! I also needed an iron during the week which was easy enough to borrow from reception.

Rooms were really clean and spotless, cleaned everyday and quickly. We didn't have the best view, you could see the sea in a gap down the road but we didn't spend a tremendous amount of time on our balcony anyway. Good nights sleep every night as it goes SUPER quiet at night since everyone's either sleeping or out clubbing. Good working safe (Although no need to worry about stuff necessarily being stolen as it's not that kind of place - we've heard horror stories from the Ibiza Rocks hotel), Air con was a little weak but after a while you could feel the affects, Wi-Fi was hit and miss - sometimes it was amazing sometimes it was literally useless but they have two coin operated computers in the lobby if you really need it. They also have very spacious and modern lockers to keep your belongings in after you've checked out which you need to do by 12pm.

Other cool stuff such as the pool with button operated water features, bar serving food and drink during the day, jacuzzi style pool attached to the main one, pool table for €1 a game, table tennis which is free for guests - no time restrictions, grass lawn and sunbeds. Close to the rocky beach, sandy beach is by the marina which is about 10-15minute walk. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. I'd you're headed for a night out, do all your pre drinking at the bar toe doors down called Tiffany's - the barman Paul is really friendly and they do €1 shots and other crazy cheap cocktail bowls and competitions.

Overall it was really good and I would come back without a doubt.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view if you can

A few friends and I have recently stayed at this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has great facilities including a great sized pool, good variety of food (catered for and in the hotel bar), generous sized rooms with all the amenities you need. The rooms were reasonably priced, clean, well looked after and well laid out. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is quiet and a bit further away from the hustle and bustle, so a nice environment for relaxing. Only improvement would be to enhance the wifi, its great its free but it struggles to reach certain parts of the hotel but this is not a deal breaker. Some of our group had stayed there before and we all agreed we'd definitely would stay there again and recommend to others.

Unfortunately this hotel feels like it's in the north of England with Northern yobs shouting from the balconies to the street below 24 hours a day. There is almost no sound proofing meaning you hear what feels like every door in the building slamming shut, every word of the housekeepers as they go about their business and the scraping of the beds above as they make up rooms.

Breakfast fantastic - extensive variety of foods hot and cold, to suit seemingly every taste and health requirement.

Staff very friendly and approachable with a wide range of languages spoken.

Wifi unusable.

Close to various local shops and restaurants - lots more local feeling places where the locals seem to eat and drink late into the night. Good local food at local prices.

Plenty of on street parking all around the hotel.

Due to the noise and lack of sleep, will not visit again.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs in order to sleep

We are sorry to hear that other guests behaviour may of disturbed you, we try our best to keep a calm and relaxed atmosphere arround the hotel. If any guest considers another guests behaviour is inapropiate they may inform staff at reception or dialing number 9 and we will try to solve this.

Unfortunately during some hours of the day our free wifi service may become a bit slow when lots of our guests use it at the same time. We have 4 DSL lines with 10 Mb each dedicated exclusively to provide our guests with free internet access

Unfortunalely high speed fibre optic connections are not available in Ibiza at the moment as soon as they become vailable we will also install one

Thank you for your opinion

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here with last year being the first. It's no.1 on trip advisor for a reason. I'll probably repeat myself from last years review. The hotel is spotless and the rooms cleaned to a fantastic standard everyday better than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in all over the world.

The pool area extends from the cleanliness inside the hotel. They are constantly cleaning and taking care of the gardens at night, we even spotted them taking samples of the pool one night!

The bar staff at the pool area during the day and night do not stop!!! They can't do enough to help you and are a lovely bunch of guys.

If there is one thing i was to say and it really would be looking for a fault is the room they let you use when you check out for washing could do with AC being installed as it was crazy hot after my girlfriend and myself had a shower. You really can't complain as they let you hang about all day and give you free use of this which for a 3 star hotel is fantastic service.

Great location close to the beach bars and far enough away from the carnage of the west end.

I will be definitely be back!!

This was our 3rd visit (so we must like it) but it would be nice if gran sol recognised this...I emailed requesting a double bed and a higher floor and none of these requests were considered. I explained when we checked in and the response was 'we are full' - we did book through booking.com which was probably the problem.
I have since received an email direct from Gran Sol offering a discount and room preferences should we choose to return.

The wifi could be improved. You can read an email but it struggled with other things.

That being said this is a nice hotel in an excellent location (so great for the sunset bars). We like being a decent walk away from the west end.
The area and gardens are well kept. Excellent breakfast
We would definitely return to this hotel and would have no reservations recommending to others

Room Tip: Rooms on the garden side. Anything higher than first floor

Thank you for your opinion

We always try our best to make our guests requests possible

Obviously requests from guests that reserve direct have preference over other reservations, and when you book thru a third party your requests may not reach us

Stayed at the Gran Sol for four nights in July. Hotel is nice and clean, rooms basic, quite small but immaculate. Free safe, fridge and air con. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool area and also nice lawned area. Hotel is about 5 minute walk from Mambo. We had a side sea view overlooking the street so not particularly scenic but then again no where really is in San Antonio!!
We stayed half board, breakfast was good, evening meal was ok for hotel food but not up to restaurant standards.
Would recommend this hotel, nothing fancy but good value for money.

This is by far my favourite hotel in Ibiza. Very very clean, nice food and pleasant staff. In a perfect location nice and chilled out area and only a short walk to the madness. We booked and stayed in sep 2013 and stayed again June 2014 and have booked for sep 2014. Very reasonably priced.

Stayed June 2014
