Visited this hotel in June 2014. There were 7 of us celebrating my cousins 50th birthday.
We arrived at the hotel at 11.00 pm just in time to order a few drinks before the all inclusive bar stopped serving at 11.30. Afterwards we went to 2 or 3 quiet bars in the local area and headed off to bed about 2.30 am.
THe staff were helpful and friendly and efficient. The reception areas are clean and tidy although a little dated. There was no one available to help us with our luggage but we were taravelling fairly light so this was not an issue but might be if you were infirm.
Wifi is available at a charge but is quite expensive.
I shared a twin room with my brother in law. The room was recently decorated and was pleasant. The bathroom was modern and fully tiled with a powerful shower over the bath complete with hair dryer and shaver point. We had a first floor room with a sea view which was great but was partially obscured by trees which were within the grounds. To get a better view I would recommend a room on level 3 or above.
There was a third bed in the room which, if occupied, the conditions would be bordering on cramped. We stayed for 4 nights and if there had been 3 in the room the wardrobe capacity would be stretched to the limit. If you were staying 2 in a room for 2 weeks there was not enough space. Within the wardrobe area there was a safe which could be hired out on a daily basis for about 3 euro's a day.
The room was cleaned efficiently everyday and towels were changed every day if required
There is a flat screen TV in the room but few English speaking channels available
There is only one restaurant which offers buffet service for food and waitress service for drinks.
Breakfast was good with a fairly wide choice ranging from cereals, fruit to cheeses and full English breakfasts. Fruit juices were basically watered down cordials although fresh orange was available for 2.5 euros. Coffee was out of a machine but was reasonably ok.
Lunch and Dinner were of a similar quality with a wide range of dishes. I am a fairly fussy eater and always managed to find something acceptable to eat. Food overall was good without being great.
There was only one bar that was open all the time. There was also an outside bar but this wasn't open all of the time.
The all inclusive tariff included the local spirits draught beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee. In fairness the local spirits were ok unlike some of the hotels i have been to. You could buy premium brands at a discount compared to those guests who were not on all inclusive basis, paying 3 euros for branded spirit instead of 6.
There is one modestly sized circular pool for adults and a small one for children. Sun bed space around the pool was at a premium and there was never any spare beds until after 4.00 pm. There are are two other sun terraces away from the pool area where you could usually find a sunbed but you might have to wait a while before before the sun reaches you. Pool towels are available for rent at 2 euros a day.
The hotel is situated on a corner plot. Apart form the areas already mentioned there is only the entertainments area which is outside and serves as a relaxing bar area during the day where you can enjoy the sunshine under the shade of the trees. In the evening there is a small stage which is the focal point for the entertainment. I can't really comment on the quality of the entertainment.
The hotel sits in a cove within St Antonio bay and is in a great position.
The beach is within a few yards walk of the hotel and when you get there is a little dissapointing because it is a little bit scruffy and could be a bit cleaner. I went in to the sea and whilst it is safe and sandy there were bits of rubbish floating around. The hotel do not have any beds on the beach.
For the money we paid we got excellent value. The hotel is in a great position by the beach with great views of the sunsets. It is also well positioned if you want to enjoy the St Antonio night life being only ten minutes walk away . The rooms are fine with the restaurant providing acceptable fare. The hotel is currently 3 star and I can understand why it is rated quite highly by the guests but next year it is boasting 4 stars for 2015 and may struggle to meet expectations and satisfy guests paying more to stay there.
