This was the second time we've been to the Milord and the first time was 3 years ago for a week, this time we went back for 2 weeks and on both occasions the hotel did not disappoint. Firstly, I must say how immaculate the hotel is, the rooms, public toilets, surrounding gardens, everything was spotlessly clean, the maids came in to the room every day and cleaned leaving a gorgeous lemony fresh smell in the room. The food is lovely, good selection, not a lot for children but both my children aged 5 and 22 months always found something they liked. Couple of things we were disappointed with was the queues at the bar (as we were all inclusive we had to sign a receipt every time we ordered drinks which held everything up, didn't see the point of them) also ice lollys weren't part of the inclusive package, luckily they served slushes as part of all inclusive and my son really enjoyed those. You are also not allowed to use rubber rings etc in the pool, and can understand them not wanting them in the big pool due to it being dangerous but we were supervising our children in the little pool and felt that there shouldn't have been a problem with the kids having them as it's a good way to keep them entertained. The kids entertainment in the evening was excellent and my boys really enjoyed, we also really enjoyed the adult entertainment too. Also plenty of activities going on during the day so plenty to keep everyone entertained if they don't want to lay by the pool all day.
There's a ferry which costs 2.50euros, which leaves from right outside the hotel every half an hour, this is lovely and takes you over to San Antonio Town.
When we booked this holiday, we asked for a quiet room in case our children needed an early night and this is exactly what we got, we were given a room round the back of the hotel with a fantastic view of the sea and the Bay, on the 1 or 2 occasions that we went back to the room early we couldn't hear the entertainment at all. During the night we could hear the odd slamming door when groups of young people were coming home but they were pretty quiet all in all.
The 'strip' where the bars and restaurants are is a short walk away, we'd take a walk up there most evenings, it's lovely, not too busy and not too quiet with a mix of different things to do, there are karaoke bars, some bars for young people, plenty of shops and some family orientated bars too where you pay about 5 euros for your child to play in the play area and you can have a drink while you keep an eye on them, both my children loved it!
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for families and couples who want a fairly quiet relaxing holiday but in a pretty central location, I would definitely go back again.
