Hotel S'Estanyol

Stayed for our third time at this hotel in September 2012. The hotel is spotless and ultra modern, it isn't no 5 star establishment but that is reflected in the price that you are paying, this hotel easily falls into a 3 star.
We did experience a couple of negatives upon this visit but nothing that would stop me returning as we have booked here for September 2013.
Upon arrival in the early hours we were allocated a room that overlooked a side alley way on the first floor and the outside toilet for the pool/bar area and the smell was quite strong although the room was spotless. I went back to the reception to complain and was moved to room number 1, which in all honesty I think was allocated as he didn't like the fact I had complained about the first room.
Room 1 is the room next to the bar area, which wasn't noisy but you couldn't use the balcony as their was no privacy at all as this was 3 feet away from the exit to the bar door wish is the busiest part of the hotel!!. We had been spoilt the previous 2 years with a 2nd floor sea view but I wasn't happy at all with the allocation of this room, especially early hours of the morning with the lucky lucky fellas selling their wares a mere 20 foot away. Although the area seemed to have a camera, whether it worked was another matter.
The food is very good in this hotel and their is always choice and something that you will like. The staff are hardworking and even though it mat seem like a moan above I would recommend this hotel as it is spotless and cleaned every day. Safes are available, which I would recommend as a priority although we have not experienced any theft nor have we heard of any in the 3 times we have stayed here.
I cannot understand why people are booking San Remo, (which is more suited to couples) and after lugging cases their only to be told no you are in S'Estanyol, which is more than acceptable as a hotel but why do they take the booking for San Remo yet move people upon arrival??. I thought it was just us unlucky twice but the amount of people on here mentioning it should really warrant an explination from the hotel.
Their is plenty to do around the hotel with the bars on offer, personally we love Donnegan's and Panfers which are less than 100 yards from the hotel entrance. We skipped breakfast a couple of days due to a late night and found Sun and Moon bar facing the hotel really nice for light meals and a quick daytime drink, really friendly staff in there.

To summarise, this hotel is very good and one that I will return too after 3 very good experiences albeit last time a few gripes.

Room Tip: I would personally avoid the ground floor rooms as they have no privacy at all with people around th...

just come back from the hotel sestanyol on the 10 may 2013. no complaints about hotel, food was good but not hot (there was a microwave there, which was used often.) staff were friendly. but, in the picture of the hotel, there sun beds on the beach, there arent any. j ioffered to rent a bed or even a plastic chair for my wife who suffers with arthritis, but was refused. so if you have this illness and like the beach . you will end up sitting on a little wall or by the pool away from the beach.the photograph of the hotel with the beds on the beach is in my opinion dishonest.

Room Tip: high sea view

Stayed at this hotel for 10 days half board end of April to early June and was not disappointed we were originally booked into the sister hotel next door the San Remo Hotel and was given a first floor room looking at the front of the hotel. I asked to be moved and was told a sea view would cost us another 15 euros a day more which we declined. Later we asked again and was told we can move into the S'Estanyol hotel next door and got a 4th floor room with a breathtaking sea view (every room in the S'Estanyol has a fab sea view).

The rooms were basic but clean with fresh towels everyday and the staff were brilliant and polite. I have read about the food and was a little worried but we worried for nothing the food was very good and plentiful with selections of meats, soups, salads and pastas, breakfast included cereal, full English breakfast and various bread.

A taxi from the airport to the hotel was 28 euros and the return journey was just 25 euros if you want to use the local bus then catch no 10 to Ibiza town for 3 euros then Ibiza town to San Antonio for 2 euros, buses will run direct from the airport to San Antonio in high season. Best local beach is around 10 min walk along the coastal road (opposite way to San Antonio Town). It's a nice 20 minute walk to the town center from the hotel. Plenty of local shops and it's worth checking the prices because they do vary believe me and as for the pubs and clubs all open till around 6am prices are around 3 euros a pint.

So book and enjoy your holiday.

Room Tip: The higher the better.

Ryanair were offering cheap flights to Ibiza - £10 each way incl.taxes - so it would have been rude not to take their offer up. Booked All Inclusive at the S'Estanyol/Remo Complex and wasn't too sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. Very easy check in on arrival, given sea view rooms, top floor, next door to the friends we traveled with - all of which I requested when booking. The rooms are a very generous size, spotlessly clean with adequate storage. If anyone is interested there is a hair dryer supplied in the bathroom (couldn't find this out before we travelled).
The food was better than we expected, not boiling hot but certainly better than many of the reviews imply. Plenty of choice but could do with better labelling as it wasn't always quite what you were expecting!
The location of the hotel is excellent for getting around and about. The weather (we went April 20th) was absolutely fantastic, didn't venture into the pool but some did but came home a healthy colour.
This hotel was great for an out of season break but I wouldn't go in season as the pool area is tiny and you'd have to sleep out all night to get a sunbed.
Contrary to some reviews all the staff were amazingly friendly, chatty and very helpful!!
The plastic cups could do to be a bit larger which would save some time queuing at the bar and they do stop the All Inclusive bang on 11p.m. so make sure you've got a couple in well before then.
