Yes, as most have said the Bellamar is not up to my idea of a 4 star hotel, but it comes close, and this summer we will once again be saying hola to the place. We've (couple 45 and 50+) stayed 3 time and this will be our fourth.
The rooms could do with updating but they are spacious and do the job. The mattresses are firm and I like that or rather my poor back likes it.
The bathroom is a fair size too, bath with shower over and hairdryer that does the job.
Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, not enough hangers (there never are).
We always go for a seaview at the front of the hotel it beats the crowds and the over pruced drinks at the Sunset Strip (although the strip is great for people watching)
You get a small fridge in your room that's very useful.
The hotel is spotless. Rooms are cleaned everyday. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet is superb with lots of choice. We've had dinner once and it was also very good but there's so many great restaurants and bars selling fantastic food that we now eat out every night.
Anyone great food information give me a shout

Loved this place. We had a balcony with a sea-view which was perfect for seeing the beautiful sunsets. The staff were very helpful. They cleaned our rooms thoroughly daily. It is located away from the main San Antonio strip but it is a 10 minute walk if you fancied it. I enjoyed the entertainment (a guy with a guitar and piano who was very amusing!). There was a good choice of breakfast with many different items. The spa was lovely with a pool, sauna and jacuzzi. I would recommend it!

Room Tip: I'd pay the extra for a sea view with a balcony. You won't regret it as it faces the sun and...

This was our second visit to the Bellamar.

We visited in August last year for 3 nights, as we'd heard great reviews. We were not disappointed, and decided to come back in May this year for 7 nights.

The Hotel is in prime location in San Antonio Bay - not right in the heart of either the Bay or the Town, and manages to be an oasis of peace and tranquility within touching distance of the craziness of the town, and the fun of the Bay.

The hotel is cleaned from morning 'til night, and rooms, public areas, pool and dining room are kept in pristine condition. It's obvious that the staff and owners take great pride in the appearance of the hotel, and the comfort and relaxation of their guests. Even in August when the hotel was really busy, everything was absolutely spotless. Rooms are cleaned throughly, and towels changed every day.

I genuinely couldn't speak highly enough of the service or attention we received from all staff during our stay. They are friendly, without being intrusive, and the bar staff make the best cocktails ever!

The sunset's are sensational, but as I don't think these are arranged by the hotel, I won't make to much of a fuss about them!!

The food is good - we went half board. We're both really fussy about food, and normally if we're half board we eat out almost every night. Not here - we found the food to be fresh, hot (where appropriate!!), and plentiful. The dining room is never crowded, and again the attention of all staff in ensuring you enjoy your meal is outstanding. Tables are freshly laid after you've finished your meal to ensure the tables are fresh for every guest.

In these times of cost cutting, it's refreshing to see that the hotel has undergone some refurbishment - the sun lounging area has been extended, a new outdoor jacuzzi has been installed, and all of the rooms now have 32" LCD TV's with a full range of channels. The hotel was phenomenal even without these upgrades, but yet another example of the pride taken in ensuring your stay is excellent, and not your last!!

We had 2 problems in our room during our stay. Firstly, the toilet wouldn't flush, and this was resolved immediately. The second, was the air condition stopped working - as we were heading out, the receptionist advised that this would be checked out before we returned, and it was. Things will break down in any hotel, but I guess it's the response of the staff in sorting it out which is the difference between it being a big issue or just a minor problem, and their response was fantastic!!

In summary, this isn't a cheap hotel, but it is value for money, and it's quality relaxation in great surroundings. If you're looking for a crazy time in San An - it's probably not for you. If you're looking to seriously relax and re-charge, then this is your man!!

One minor request - get some new CD's. Ibiza's renowned for it's cutting edge music. Roy Orbison, and Queen don't really reflect the Island's musical brilliance!! Ha ha!!

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a week in May. We were allocated a nice SV room even though we hadn't paid the SV supplement. This was intentional as I knew the hotel would be far from empty at this time.

The room was spotlessly clean, as was the hotel. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the sunsets.

The food was good, although I am not a fan of buffet food. Fortunately, there were plenty of Spanish inspired dishes on the menu in spite of the hotel mainly catering to British guests. Even the fussiest of eaters would be able to find something to suit their palate. My partner falls into this category and certainly did not go hungry.

One thing I did object to in a 4 star hotel was that guests were entering the dining room in the evening dressed as if they had just come off the beach. I think they should have a bit more respect and dress more appropriately. Some of the sights were definately not very pretty and put us off our dinner.

The hotel had only just opened for the season so only had a few guests, but this did not bother us. There are plenty of bars within walking distance.

All the hotel staff were friendly and very keen to ensure everything went smoothly. Although the hotel has a 4 star rating I think I would say it is more a 3star, but we enjoyed our stay.

Having said that, we would certainly not choose to visit San Antonio in July or August.
