“Couldn't ask for better!”
Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

What can I say?! After the disastrous stay in Sant Antonio last year (see my other review), we decided to stay a little further around the bay. It's the best decision we could've made, as this hotel is absolutely superb! The rooms are spotless & cleaned everyday. The rooms at the front with a sea view have a spectacular sunset view too & it's lovely to relax on the balcony with a cool drink, watching the sun go down. Our double room had a flat screen TV, welcome pack for hot drinks, a fridge, hair dryer & air conditioning included. All the staff were very welcoming & incredibly polite. The pool area was spotless & there were plenty of free sunbeds, although a couple more umbrellas would be welcomed as there is little shade otherwise. The dining room is buffet style breakfast, with a huge choice of freshly cooked food. The bar area is comfortable, food delicious & good portions, & drinks well priced especially the wine! The only thing that could be improved is the music, which is very middle of the road. There are plenty of Ibiza chill out tunes that could be played without ruining the ambience of this superb hotel. The main town can be easily reached via a short 10-15 minute walk along the beach promenade, with plenty of places to stop for food & drinks on the way. There is a supermarket right next door too & a taxi rank around the corner. The spa looked divine, although we didn't use it this time. We fully intend to next year, when we return! You will not be disappointed if you book here!

We had a wonderful 10 nights holiday at this hotel, our room was fabulous I had paid for a full sea view, it was well worth paying the extra, the view was fantastic!! The reception staff were very helpful, my teenage son was having problems signing into the free Wi Fi, he spoken to Marc who asked him to bring his IPad down, he sorted the problem out for him and from then on he had no problems signing in or picking up the Wi Fi signal anywhere in the hotel. We both really enjoyed the food, breakfast and evening meal, there was plenty of choice no need to go hungry. We found the restaurant staff friendly, Carmen spoke excellent English and was very welcoming at every meal time. The hotel is in an excellent location, just across the road from a nice beach, bus stop outside the front of hotel and a 20 minute walk to San Antonio town, harbour, bars and restaurants .We didn't use the pool but it looked very nice and very clean, there was no sunbed rush in the mornings and if we came back in the afternoon there was always sunbeds available. We would defiantly stay at the Bellamar Hotel if we were to have another holiday in San Antonio Bay.

Room Tip: Paying the extra for a sea view is well worth it.

Just returned from a 2 week stay in the Bellamar and I have nothing but praise for it.

There were 4 of us on the trip on a half board basis and all 4 of us were hugely happy with the entire experience. We were greated by friendly staff on our arrival who swiftly checked us in and this set the tone for our stay.

There was a huge selection of food for both breakfast and dinner using high quality meats and produce so we were never stuck for choice.

The bar gave great service and attention to both customers and the drinks they were preparing and the made amazing Margarita's!!

The rooms were kept spotless by the cleaning staff who came daily and were always very happy.

All in all it was a great hotel and really made our holiday for us and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

We have just returned from our third consecutive stay at this fantastic hotel. The room was, again, comfortable and spacious. Our little fridge was just about cool enough to chill sangria and San Miguel. The staff are outstanding and genuinely endeavour to make your stay the best possible. The bar staff and reception staff would hold conversations with us and patiently persevere with my stilted Spanish, helping me out when we got stuck with the occassional pgrase or tense. The hotel was perfectly situated for our stay and the food was delicious. The wi-fi was not the most reliable but was sufficient for our needs. The chambermaids were cheerful and always happy to make our room up, regardless of what time we got up (some nights/mornings were spent clubbing so we didn't get to bed until 6am some mornings but our room was always cleaned, made up and fresh towels/bedding in place every day). We would definitely recommend this hotel for couples visiting Ibiza who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the West End but who don't want to be stuck out in the Bay.

Room Tip: Request a bay view.

Back for our 3rd visit and without doubt one of the best hotel in the area, that being said there were a few issues that do not bode well, the severe price increase from the previous year(not sure if Hotel(due to popularity or Thomas Cook are at fault) meant we had to take a side room(515) overlooking the next Hotel but with a partial view of San Antonio Bay and a lovely view of the early morning sunrise we were quite happy, we had sunshine until late morning, the room was as previous years, and unlike the other reviewer our bed was again to our liking and we slept well, we asked for a second door card and this allowed us to leave fridge on all day(understandably cleaners will disconnect if A/C is left on) thus a chilled beer or wine was available at end of day, my previous reviews still hold true regarding other matters , beds/umbrella's by the pool were easier to get this year even though place seemed full.
our main concern was the Dinning room during the evening, last year they had a Maitre d' who was extremely professional, this year there seemed a lack of leadership, our main issue being, on arrival at table you are asked if you require a drink(chargeable) several times we sat for some time being ignored, 3 times we were half way through our meal before being asked our requirements, we noted other diners with similar problems, it may be staffing problem(cost cutting) or lack of awareness but we were very disappointed hopefully they will resolve this issue.

Food was very good, location ideal, staff very good, Clean and the sea-view rooms a must!

If you are looking to go to Ibiza this place will tick most boxes, and despite the issues raised we thoroughly recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are wonderful to watch sunsets,

If you want a hotel close to the nightlife, but far enough away to relax, then this is it. Clean rooms with large bathroom, lovely view of the bay from superior rooms, the sunsets are amazing. On the down side the bed has got to be THE most uncomfortable bed EVER..!!Actually felt bruised after sleeping in it!! We did ask if there was anything they could do to make it any more tolerable, they put on a mattress topper, which was a little better but still very uncomfortable. Restaurant ok, with a good selection for both breakfast & dinner, service from staff good. Pool area was good, although the pool was freezing & in the shade until about 2.30pm each day, if you want the sun go for sunbeds at the top or you'll be in the shade until 2/3pm. The beach is over the road & there is a supermarket next door, to stock up on drinks to put in the fridge in the rooms, fridge wasn't very cold, but was handy.

Currently staying at Bellamar as a group of 3 girls in our late twenties. Had read great reviews and so booked this in good faith.

The location is ideal for us, close enough to sunset strip and transport links, but far enough from the rowdy crowds on San Antonio.
The room is adequate size for 3 girls, though not much room to manoeuvre.
Helpful reception staff at night for booking taxis.
Clean rooms and communal areas.
Partial bay views from room 517.

Not enough plug sockets (2 in total).
No mini bar and no room service.
Half board does not include any drinks with dinner, not even table water, despite this being free with breakfast.
Food is very variable, particularly for vegetarians, though some very good days.

Some particularly unpleasant staff, in particular Carmen, the hostess in the hotel restaurant. On our first night, we did not bring any cash to dinner as we did not think we would need it. On our way out we were informed we needed to pay cash for the single bottle of water we had with dinner. We apologised as we had not brought money and were told we could pay at breakfast. To our fault, we did forget the following day but we were reminded at dinner the following day. I therefore went back up to the room and brought the payment down to Carmen and apologised for the delay. She then stopped me and accused me of underpaying, claiming we had bought another bottle of water the following night. I corrected her politely and was met with a rude and disbelieving "OK" and a sour face. The following day, despite smiling with her and greeting her pleasantly, she has continued to instead scowl at us and this evening stopped us as we were leaving to bark at us as to whether we had had any water again! I literally never complain about service, but this has left a very sour taste and frankly ruined our experience at the hotel. We have essentially been treated with suspicion and distrust with added unpleasant interactions. I am personally very offended. Altogether with the other negatives listed, I would not book the Bellamar again as it is not 4 star service despite the price tag.

Ibiza on the other hand has been a pleasant all round surprise and I would recommend a visit to the island to anyone with any apprehension.
