hi please read all of this review before judging :) we have just come back from this hotel and were quite dissapointed with some aspects but not all , the hotel is very very basic no fridge hairdryer in the rooms and you even have to pay for tv remote ! the hotel is in desperate need of refurbishing and is in a very noisy part of san antonio bay so im glad we did not go any earlier. it is spotlessly clean and the sataff especially fernando on dining room duty " beep fernando " . the food is fabulous we went half board and im glad we did not do the all inclusive as all the drinks were free with breakfast and evening meal anyhow !!! the hotel in the brochure looks like its overlooking beach and sea but its not its big rocks and gravel the nice beach is 10 min walk down the road . the verandas do not get much sun at all as it is overlooked by another hotel we were in mar amantis 1 and apparently we were lucky as mar amantis 2 over the road is very rowdy . on an evening you cant stay in the mar amantis 1 as there is absoloutly nothing to do but sit around half a dozen tables and drink and get chilly with the sea , the bars at the side are quite good for entertainmant though go to the sun and moon 200 yards away and see elvis on a mon and fri he is very good. maybe im being a bit fussy but i expected slightly more from the hotel without having to pay for everything on arrival it cost us 72 euros just for basics like a remote and hairdryer and deposit box and i wouldnt care there is only 1 english channel and thats the repeated news , it may sound like a moaning review but we did have a god week :)

Room Tip: ask for a front sea view 3rd floor mar amantis 1 pay if you have to its the only peaceful night y...

Stayed at mar amantis 2 for 7 nights. on arrival staff were unhelpful and did not know which hotel we were in as mar amantis is sister hotels. when getting to the room had an awful view of the street and a disgusting roof over the door downstairs with socks sunglasses sweets and god knows what else thrown on it. the safe was broken and took 2 hours for someone to look at it, it cost us 21 euros to have a safe for a week and a further 10 euros deposit. all inclusive drinks were limited and not fantastic tasting. the food in the dining room was always the same everyday not much choice of main meal lots of bread and salad. the snack bar was much better food and staff were friendly. as we came end of season lots of older guests arrived and we were treated as children by the staff and guests and felt very uncomfortable and like an inconvenience. staff also acted like they didnt want to be there and were very unfriendly and mardy. our thomas cook rep seemed to have no idea of where the best clubs were or bars and told us the wrong times for the boat taxis availabilty. she didnt know much about day trips. every morning around 7am we woke to maids scraping the beds on the floor as they moved them to change them and loud banging and shuffling and every room door that was shut was slammed loudly. the maids had no consideration for guests. other than all this the pool areas were both fantastic and clean and great for kids. the entertainment staff were friendly and funny and got on great with guests of all ages. lots of activities through the day and a show every night it wasn't fantastic but something to watch while enjoying all inclusive hours. the strip outside the hotel of bars was brilliant and all the staff were polite and friendly and majority English which was helpful, every time you buy a drink you were usually given a free shot which was brilliant. the boat taxi is cheap and every half hour taking you to west end which is great for shops and restaurants and amazing clubs at night. the surrounding beaches weren't fantastic they were small and crowded and not very clean but we heard you could take a boat to cala bossa which was a beautiful beach we didn't have time to go. i would recommend the bar peppers 2 a short taxi ride from mar amantis its a fantastic place with current music and cheap cocktails and a fantastic atmosphere. I imagine the place and staff are much better in season but even so its still there job out of season and we felt very judged and uncomfortable majority of our stay. I would go back to Ibiza, to san antonio but definitely a different hotel with much friendlier staff and nicer food.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view if staying in mar amantis 2. Our street view was awful and dirty and smelly and...

Stayed here in the Last Week of September - Everything was Average to be honest. Bar was very average Beer didn't taste that great, staff seems like they didn't want to be there (Always grumpy)

Food was nice, with a lot of choice however preferred to eat out, Lots of great restaurants nearby (Muay Thai & Donnegans Irish bar were the best) Swimming Pool is tiny, rooms are very basic have to pay for safe.

As an ex-Thomas Cook rep, I used to live in this hotel full time, so maybe my review will be quite biased. I chose this hotel based on the experience I had and the friends I made when I was working in Ibiza.
We arrived on the 30th September for a 5 day all-inclusive stay. We checked in at around 10:30pm, the check in process was very quick, but we were the only people checking in at this time, so based on my knowledge of the hotel I know it can become a lengthy process when a lot of guests arrive at the same time. We were greeted with a smile which is always nice after a long day of travelling. Unfortunately we had just missed the evening meal, so had to go outside the hotel for food that night, again based on my knowledge of the area it was easy to choose somewhere to eat, with 2 restaurants within a 50 metre walk from the hotel.
Our room was immaculately clean, but very basic. The bathroom consisted of a bath with shower head, wash basin, toilet, bidet and plenty of towels. The miniature soaps, shower gels and shampoo were a nice touch. The bedroom had 2 single beds pushed together (as seems to be the norm in Ibiza) a desk with TV. Only 2 English news channels (but let's be honest, who goes to Ibiza to watch TV - lol). The rooms are non-smoking, but you are provided with an ashtray on the balcony. There is free air-con in every room, this will only work when the balcony door is shut.
Breakfast was amazing, there was plenty of choice, from continental fresh pastries, salads and seasonal fruit, to omelettes, and all the ingredients for a full English fry up.
Lunch again a wide variety, with plenty of salad options, and a variety of hot food which changed everyday. There was always a fish, meat, vegetarian and pasta option to choose from. And the hotel chef on duty was cooking things like steak and pork chops to order.
Dinner was very much the same as lunch, again a wide variety on offer all fresh and different everyday.
The snack bar is open all day, and you have the usual burgers, chips and hot dogs, as well as ice cream and crisps for the kids.
As we went all inclusive we had all our drinks included, this was only for the local equivalent and any brand names are charged extra, which is the same in every all-inclusive hotel.
We stayed in to watch the hotel entertainment twice, this consisted of a kiddies disco, pre-show entertainment (which is mostly dancing), and then the main show which changed every night. This is always family orientated.
As the hotel is split over 2 buildings (Mar Amantis 1 & 2) there are 2 pools. The pool in the Mar Amantis 1 looks over the sea, and has a very chilled out atmosphere and lovely views over San Antonio town. The pool in the Mar Amantis 2 is more lively with daytime activities such as water polo, killer pool and killer darts to name a few. There were plenty of sun beds to go around, but I did stay there during the end of the summer season, and I know that getting a sun bed during the height of the summer season (Jun-Sept) can become quite difficult, unless you're willing to get up early to reserve them.
If you want to venture out of the hotel, there are various local amenities nearby. There is a bank and a pharmacy next door, and shops just 20 metres away. You can get a water taxi over to San Antonio Town which cost €2.50 each way, or you can get a normal taxi which will cost around €6. You can also walk there along the sea front which will take around 20-30 minutes.
There are some bars around 100 metres away, which suit all tastes. Pink Panthers had a quiz every night and karaoke all night long. Donnegans is an Irish bar with karaoke some nights, and Bucaneros for the party goers among you.
Overall this hotel was excellent to stay in as couples/families looking for a chilled out holiday. But it is best to go during May or October. Between June and September you will be amongst the 18-30 crowd, and it can get a bit rowdy.
I completely recommend it for whatever your holiday may be, just make sure you go during the right time.

We were a group of 6 females all between the age of 26-45, booked through Jet 2, the hotel was great for us, we were lucky we never experienced any late noise or disruptions. We were placed in hotel II, rooms were nice, clean and surved there purpose.

We used the pool that over looked the sea - lovely view..
Food was ok never struggled to find somehting to eat, always a differnt choice.
Only watched the eveining entertainment once - was ok was family orintated.

Only down side is some of the staff were down right rude.. we only come across 2 members who were nice and pleasant.

There is a bakery under hotel II that we would recommend for fresh pastries - delicious.

Is a 20 minute walk into San An Town but there is a river boat that comes to the from of the hotel several times a day/night..
Taxi costs aroung 6 Euros...

for a short stay this hotel and location is ok.

We booked the holiday through Jet2 .Looking at the location away from the madness of San Antonio we thought it seemed ideal and expected most of the guests would be around the 40s plus age group WRONG .The hotel was full of 18-30s intent on making as much noise and mess as imaginable around the pool leaving plastic cups and other crap everywhere. The pool is adequate but not enough sun loungers to go round so it means getting one before breakfast to be sure of one. From around 4am the dawn chorus starts with shouting and screaming and banging doors as the 18-30 gang start coming home this only lasts till about 6am so don't plan to sleep for these 2 hours.
The hotel its self was of a good standard and backing onto the sea where water taxis land, divided into 2 buildings over the main road, the rooms are of a good size and cleaned everyday .The restaurant is in the building overlooking the sea ,making it a nice place to eat,the food we found to always looked nice and fresh and we found plenty of choice and seating was never a problem as the staff were on the ball clearing tables.
My review started out as a moan but the hotel is fine and if it was further round the bay it wouldn't attract the younger crowd and be a nice place to stay but at times it felt like a zoo.
