“Wedding Wonderland”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

I have just returned from my daughters wedding which was held in this excellent venue. We were checked in very quickly by the Hotel Manager, Giuseppe who was the most accomodating and helpful person we could have wished for. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went far beyond what he needed to do to help my daughters special day sparkle. The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. All our guests loved the venue and the beautiful presentation of the tables on the "big day". The hotel is set in idyllic grounds with a large swimming pool and plenty of very comfortable beds arranged around it. The rooms were large, spacious and very comfortable. I was unaware of any noise from the road. This is a rural hotel but it is only a short drive to get into town via the "A" class Mercedes car which was provided to us, included in the cost of the hotel. You do need to drive through a light industrial area to get to it but as you can neither see or hear that from the hotel I really cannot see why other reviewers feel the need to mention it. I would not hesitate to go back to this wonderful hotel again, either as part of a group or as a couple. It is not an inexpensive hotel and it is always easy to find faults in any hotel but as an experienced traveller I rate my stay here as excellent.

We stayed at the Sa Talaia for the second week of our holiday in
Ibiza. We had a fantastic, relaxing time there. It is located in on a
wooded hill just beyond the edge of the San Anonio suburbs. The
attractive, well maintained grounds are extensive and the hotel
certainly has a tranquil rural feel. We only read the Tripadvisor
reviews just before arriving. Therefore we were a bit nervous as some
of the more recent reviews had been so negative. Our concerns were
immediately dispelled by the wonderfully warm and informative
reception provided by Giuseppe, the hotel manager. All the members of
his small team are equally friendly. We had a lovely room in the main
hotel with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. (There was
one point on our 360 degree balcony where we got a distant glimpse of
a small section of the highway through a gap in the trees - we were
not upset! - there was certainly no noise or pollution from it). Late
breakfast on the veranda was always pleasant. We ate dinner in the
hotel's restaurant once. It was very good but on all the other nights
we were out and about in the A class Merc which is included with the
room. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing around the large pool and in the
hotel and grounds generally. There are only 14 rooms/suites scattered
around the hotel grounds so there is never any sense of congestion or
bustle. It is true that there is no waiter service available between
breakfast and dinner but Giuseppe offered his mobile
number in case we needed any help! He also recommended the most
picturesque location for an unforgettable sunset and a romantic dinner.
The mini-bar in the room is always available and we picked
up our own drinks and snacks during our many road trips. Giuseppe was always available to help with requests and advice of any kind whenever we needed him without being intrusive. Giuseppe even leant us his mobile phone charger repeatedly his as we had left ours home. We love Ibiza and our stay at this hotel was a real treat. We have visited the island about 15 times in total and we both agreed that this was our favourite
hotel so far, we really felt at easy. We will definitely be returning.

This hotel is set back from everything in a very quiet and relaxing setting. The room was clean, spacious and tidy. There was a lovely big pool and Giuseppe and his staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be returning. Easily close enough to Ibiza town and San Antonio for food and big nights out, but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. Simply beautiful.

We expected a "rural" hotel i.e. somewhere remote, far away from the crowds and noise. The Sa Talaia is actually just outside of a San Antonio industrial area and you can see and hear the highway connecting Ibiza and San Antonio. The setting itself is nice - the pool area and breakfast terrace are lovely. Our room was not so nice, very dark, not really clean and quite loud. The furniture looked like someone had left it standing in the rain for a few days. We would have liked to change rooms but were told this wasn't possible. Also if you need help during the day, don't expect any staff to be around

The pool area is very beautiful and well maintained. The waiter in charge of the breakfast service is friendly and helpful. So much for the good things to say…
We waited an hour for someone to show up a the reception and check us in, although we didn't arrive in the middle of the night, but in the early afternoon. We were checked into a dark & dirty room that resembled a dungeon with its barred windows. Water dripped from the ceiling, the sofa with its dark spots can only be described as nasty, the water/toothbrush glass had toothpaste from previous guests clinging to its bottom and from the window we had a view of the Ibiza-San Antoni highway. Our request for a different room was simply declined, which may have something to do with us having paid for the entire stay upfront. We didn't sleep very well at night as you hear everything being said and done in the surrounding rooms & reception area, also the bed was tiny.
Don't expect any type of service during the day, there is no staff around. Our question whether it would be possible to get food & beverages during the day was declined. According to the manager the place is a bed & breakfast only. Perhaps the use of "hotel & restaurant" in the title mislead us to believe that it'd be possible to get a cup of coffee after breakfast hours.
I'm sure other rooms are much nicer and a stay can be enjoyable. I would not return nor recommend staying here, but if you do chose to come I would not pay upfront, so have a chance to leave if you are being treated badly.

We spent there 6 nights in August 2010 as we had booked with this hotel thinking it would be a nice place. If we could have left this place from the first night after arrival, we would,. Unfortunately we could not find any other place on the island as all hotels were full. If you are looking for a charming hotel with great service, nice decoration and good location, just fly away from this place... First of all, the hotel is situated in a sort of "industrial" area close from San Antonio and not in the countryside. The surroundings are really bad and there is no view at all from the hotel (which is however close from the big double highway to Ibiza...). After 3 nights in a brand new very charming finca, arriving in Sa Talias was very disappointing. The alleged "suits" (which are bungalows) are old fashioned, dark inside, the furniture is cheap and of very bad taste (nothing like modern of up-to-date). The management was very poor (almost nobody in the hotel except the manager and the waiter for breakfast), service quite inexistant (almost nothing as choice for breakfast) and the pool area was badly maintained (the deck chairs where you could lay on were rotten). And the price incredibly expensive (380 euros car included, ie 280-300 euros per night without a car) per night ! Finally, we never spend any time in this hotel, that is not romantic at all. This place is certainly very profitable for its owner (as he apparently cut all the costs) but definitely not a place that we would recommend to anyone or go to once again. In any case, it definitely does not worth its price.

Having been to Ibiza many times we have not realised that there is such a paradis of a hotel - for romantic hideaway, honeymoon or simple relaxing with the family in a quiet, tranquil, happy sourrounding with superb staff - starting from Guiseppe the Manager and with Alessandro from the Restaurant.
Best place we have been to in a long time!
