“Good for budget travel”
Reviewed 16 June 2013

Good location, rooms are basic, but good. Its very close to everything, bus stops to other side of the Ibiza, few minutes walk from Cafe del mar. You have to keep in mind that its a hostel and its full of young party people who sometimes are not putting their best behaviour. But all that aside, the pool on the rooftop, and location are good. If budget is an issue, then this place is definitely good choice.

Me and 3 friends stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days and it was everything we expected and more. The room was constantly cool and sleeping was not a problem as it was so quiet, yet so close to everything - a 5 minute walk from the west end, 10 minute walk from Ibiza123 festival, cafe mambo etc and a 10 minute walk from Eden, Es Paradis and countless shops, bars, boat parties along the way. John the night porter was so so nice, as were all the bar staff! A shop open til 2am right next to the hostal was perfect, an italian opposite and the hotel food was so good! No more than 30 euros for a meal for the 4 of us! The cleaner was a bit rude and we suspected she may have stolen a bit of money of us, but from what we've heard about other hotels we're lucky she didn't take it all! Just hide all your money and I'd definitely recommend a travel card! The pool in the hotel opposite was perfect too, and a great chance to socialise and find out wat to do in Ibiza!!!!!

Clean room but not much to it, just bed and shower. Wireless internet did not work and biggest complaint NO AIRCONDITIONING...and it gets HOT in Ibiza. You cant sleep much either because its on top of a restaurant and close to shops and restaurants. The front desk girl was really nice and helpful. They did have 2 internet stations which were pretty cheap. Shower pressure was good too but the towels weren't soft. No fridge either. Overall not a bad place I guess but its not all that.

Like every other no frills accomodation in Ibiza the hostal Ferrer simply delivers everything you need.

Our room was a bit on the small side but that wasn't a problem. I felt as though we were living in our own little apartment block which was cool. Entry to the building and the room is via a key card which is unlike anything I have previously experienced on the island.

The room had a double bed which was really nice for a change - no falling down the crack between 2 twins pushed together!

The size of the room wasn't an issue as, like always, it is only a place to get washed and get your head down for some zzzzz's.

We had a small balcony which was nice for sitting out and having a few drinks in the evening and despite being small, the en suite catered perfectly for both of us.

The only downside to this place was the lack of air con but you can hire a fan to help ease temperature, not quite the same but better than nothing in the heat.

You check in at the Casa Maria Hotel across the street and have access to all of the hotels facilities which include a cool little rooftop pool and bar which also serves food. I imagine at peak times the pool area would be a bit of a waste of time as it is small but the rooftop sunloungers are perfect for all day sunbathing.

If you fancy a typical cooked english breakfast, the Casa Maria serves one with a drink for €4.50 - very competitive especially since it consists of "real" danish bacon 2 sausages, 2 toast, 2 eggs and beans. This is really good value for money as you can expect to pay around €6 everywhere else just for the food with no drink.

The location of the hostal is great too, a 3 - 5 minute walk from the bus station and basically almost right on the main promenade at the fountains. This is good because you are based right in the thick of the action but far enough (2 streets?) from the manic west end bars so sleep is possible!

I really liked the place and would stay there again no problem although I can imagine the air con becoming a problem in the hotter months.

We needed a room to get our heads down in for a few hours after arriving in the middle of the night and I didn't want to pay loads just to sleep so the Hotel Ferrer seemes ideal but it was much better than anticipated.

We arrived at three in the morning and the friendly night porter was looking out for us and knew by name who we were! A smile at that time of night goes a long way and we were booked in and in our room in five minutes.

The room was very clean and adequate. It does not have any of the luxuries of the bigger hotels and is relatively small but it does have beds, night-tables, wardrobe, sink and seperate toilet and shower. It also had a lovely quaint balcony.

Air-con is an optional extra and we would suggest you go for it as you could fry an egg on the floor in the middle of the day!!

Location is what wins this hotel the most points. It is literally one street away from the harbour, beach and club and bar area but sufficiently off the front to allow some sleep. It is not particularly quiet but it is in the middle of Ibiza!!

The room was also safe and secure needing card entry to the front door and rooms. Check out the next day was equally pleasant.

If you are young and heading to Ibiza for the nightlife and just need a base to sleep in and safely store your things then you could not really do better for the money than this hotel. It would not be ideal if you wanted to spend a lot of time in the romm but then again who comes to Ibiza to stay in the room???

We were pleasantly surprised and would definitely go back.

If you need to get there out of hours buses don't run and pre-booked taxis are very expensive. A taxi from outside the airport cost us 30 euros and took 20 minutes.
