“Good hotel in San Antonio”
Reviewed 30 July 2011

If you want to stay in San Antonio, this would be the best hotel to stay at. Good value for money, nice pool, clean rooms, 5 minute walk to cafe del mar. Busy location (lots of Brits and Aussies). If you're looking for a more relaxing area (with more Italians), look into staying in the old Ibiza town. However, would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The manager/owner, Tony, was extremely welcoming and helpful with a great sense of humor!

After staying at Esmitjorn back in October last year it was a simple decision to re-visit this absolute gem of a small hotel which is without doubt one of the best value for money boltholes myself and my girlfriend have ever stayed at.

Service levels that match any 5 star experience, decor that is clean, crisp and easily above the star rating and an ambience and vibe that would not be out of place in the cooler back streets of Ibiza town. This is without doubt the best small hotel experience that myself and my girlfriend have ever had.

Both our stays have been out of peak season and therefore don't take into account the likely swell of
Brits on the p@ss associated with San An' but for the more educated/mature clubber who's looking for a base in the middle of the party season or for couples wanting an out of season relaxing break, look no further.

A clean and compact pool area provides ample sunbed space to kick back and soak up the balaeric rays, with chilled beats easing from the Bose sound system at a volume level fitting of the hotel's laid back ambience.

Food is fresh, reaonable and varied enough to keep you rooted to the hotel bar if you don't fancy venturing in to San An. Breakfasts in particular provide a cracking start to the day with pan au chocolat's the champs elyese would be proud of and fresh meats and cheese to accompany a wide range of breads and croissants. Bar prices are also extremely reasonable.

Tony and his team add to this great experience. The whole family muck in on all service duties and nothing ever seems too much - Tony inparticular is a top guy who with his love for a good debate and amusement at all things English makes for the perfect and entertaining host.

The whole package just can't be beaten and we'll certainly be returning in years to come.

Me and my sister have stayed here two years running and we would not stay anywhere else in San Antonio.

EXCELLENT value for money and clean, simple spacey rooms.

There is a small pool but we preferred to head out to the nearby beach.

Outstanding location 5 minutes from the harbour, the Sunset Strip, the West End and all the shops and bars while at the same time being down a small quiet side street you can get away from it all to some extent.

It is quiet hotel - we rarely saw anyone else in the rooms....however there is some banging of doors at night but this is Ibiza and this is San Antonio - but in the main I imagine this to be a lot lot quieter than most of the hotels here!

Great service too - nice selection of food at breakfast and some good food on offer during the day. It is a family room hotel so small and friendly.

All in all - an excellent find and if you are staying here you will enjoy it!

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days in Sept 2010. I was traveling with a friend and we were quite skeptical about taking this hotel but after seeing the rooms we were quite relieved. I mean if you are amongst those travelers who are looking for value for money, this hotel could prove to be a smart deal. Rooms are clean and nice but small (Small rooms don't matter much to me as I barely stay in the room). We had requested for a sea facing room and I was very much delighted to be put in one of those rooms. The hotel is filled with young travelers. It has a very trendy feel to it. I liked the location very much as it is really close to Cafe del Mar and the bus station. Overall the experience was good, how ever, few things such as not changing the towels daily and refilling soaps and shampoos (even when they were over!!!) did annoy me a little bit.

Not done a review for a while and missed this one....

Six of us went to San Antonio for the closing parties. Four stayed in other package hotels. My friend and I chose to book flights and accommodation separately and, on Tripadvisor recommendation, chose Es Mitjorn. The other girls complained incessantly about their hotels. We had none whatsoever.

Finding decent accommodation in San Antonio (unless you pay a fortune) is a bit hit and miss. Es Mitjorn is located about a four minute walk from The Strip - but you wouldn't really know it. Traffic on the road outside the hotel only really got busy early in the evening when everyone was piling up to Cafe del Mar (about a ten minute walk away).

The staff couldn't be more helpful. It is run by a family and you know it. The whole feel of the place is so laid back, it's unbelievable (given the location). There were two of us in a spacious triple room with a large balcony overlooking the port. Room and bathroom facilities were good. There aren't any lifts but the staff will help you with heavy suitcases.

There is a small, clean rooftop pool. Chilled music piped from the bar and speakers around the pool during the day. There were more sunbeds per head than any other hotel I've ever been to. This is a huge plus as far as I'm concerned.

Breakfast (we always have to mention breakfast) is adequate. Cold meats/cheese etc ordered from a bar menu. Alcohol is reasonably priced and the dinnertime bar menu was fine. There's a pc in the lounge area with free internet access (but note that if there is ever a downpour, internet access in the area grinds to a halt).

We loved this place. Our friends joined us for a day by the pool towards the end of the holiday and they couldn't praise the place enough. It's not 'luxury'... it's an affordable haven surrounded by a plethora of tacky, unclean hotels.

Restaurants in the area are bog-standard for a clubbing town. Avoid the ones on the promenade (you know the ones with laminated dodgy looking pictures of the menu in four different languages). We ordered a spag bog at one, one evening at one of them. It 'claimed' to bolognese - it looked more like wallpaper paste.

If you want to treat yourself, go to the Restaurante Villa Mercedes. Its not cheap but we went there twice and the meals we had were absolutely outstanding

So - yes.... I highly recommend this hotel (and at the end of the stay, you get a 10% discount voucher off your next visit)
