“The best of the islands”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

Great place for a relaxing holiday, especially if you have a young family. A limited number of hotels, but mostly self catering villas and apartments.
The coastline is spectacular, with lots of tiny inlets and safe sandy beaches. If you want to go clubbing go to Mallorca instead.

“A gem of an island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013

A wonderful, relaxing place for a holiday! Menorca is very big on eco-tourism and no more hotels can be built. Hopefully that will keep the island unspoiled. The island has plenty of green vegetation even in mid-summer, and there are miles and miles of drystone walls. The beaches on the south coast are mostly delightful coves, little bites out of the coastline surrounded by cliffs. The sand on the south coast is fine and white and the water is brilliant turquoise. The sea is calm and the water is warm. Excellent for swimming and a bit of snorkelling to check out the variety of fish. There are a number of resorts, some more 'developed' than others. If you want night life you can find it, but if you'd prefer to sit at a terrace bar and watch the sunset there's plenty of that too. Excellent restaurants, plenty of seafood. You can hire a car to get around or else take the excellent bus service, much cheaper than the UK. I wouldn't hesitate to visit Menorca again.
