Love it, small friendly island with beautiful beaches, easy to get around and not too long to fly too.

This is really a place to be! It is perfect for families, couples and kids. The beaches are lovely and there are interesting places to visit. One of our favourites is Monte Torro with its Convent and spectacular views. Mahon with it's twice a week market, Ciutadella the Capital and Fornells with it's expensive yachts and many fish restaurants are all worth seeing.

This beauty of an isle wakes to the morning sun earlier than any other part of Spain. It's beauty is far and a way from the night life of Ibiza and the rows upon rows of hotels that spread across Majorca like the plague, long may that be so. Whilst it is suitable for families, this is an island for couples to soak up the sun and grab a nice romantic holiday with your loved one. Don't try to find fault with it, there aren't any. If you do find fault, you will have brought it with you. There are many, many things to do and see, so ensure you hire a car to visit all the serenity the island has to offer. Beaches are many, sandy, rocky, large and small. Gala Galdana is a good place to start. It's not just a nice beach. Head inland down the gorge. See Booted Eagles, Red Kites, Egyptian Vultures, lizards, turtles and if you tread very carefully, maybe even a snake (I spotted one). A 1 hour walk and you spot the lot.... The best beach on the island is Cala Turqueta. A bit of a walk to get there 10 -15 minuets, but worth every footstep. Spend a day with the Jeep Safari. 55 euro (14 euro for paella, wine and coffee) the best value for money day out on the island. If you only have time and money for 1 outing, this is the one for you. We went in October for the extra peace and quiet, but early May is the month to visit to see the island in all its glorious colour. We loved everything about Menorca, its cleanliness, the ethos of its people, its honest face. It doesn't pretend to be anything its not. If I must say there is something I dislike about it, it would be the day your plane lifts off to take you home.

Beautiful island. Not large but quiet with plenty to do. To get the best from your trip hiring a car would be beneficial. We hired a car for ten days but didn't get to view the whole island so we went back a second time this year. It really is worth factoring the cost of a hire car but be careful with prices. Our requirement was for a small car with air conditioning and initially were quoted 360 euros but after shopping around paid 170 euros for the ten days.
If your holiday plan is to spend the whole holiday on the beach then great, you shouldn't be disappointed,
By car or bus, whatever, a visit to Mahon is great. Check out the shopping streets, the harbour, the civil market and the fish market even if you don't like fish.
We visited the fort, from a bygone age . Very enjoyable, but fairly inaccessible if you haven't got a car. Be prepared for a bit of a walk if you want to see everything but you can cut your visit down to an hour if you stay within the main complex.
A trip to the old capital of Ciutedella is a must. A walk around the old town with a walk along the harbour will take the best part of a day. Restaurants abound along the quayside with plenty of meal choices.
There are so many places to visit on the island that it would be difficult to cover them all but add a drive to Monte Torro, a monastery on the highest point on the island with an unsurpassed view (go on a clear day), visit the caves on the cliff face on the south coast and the fishing village of Fornells on the north coast.
The roads are very good and bus service is acceptable though limiting depending where you are. We so thoroughly enjoyed it that we are going back for a third year next July. The weather can start to be a bit unsettled at the extreme ends of the season. I have experienced severe storms towards the end of September but that isn't always the case, but be prepared.
If you are looking for 18-30 type events go to Ibiza as you definitely won't find them on this quiet little island. Wayne

Wonderful island with amazing countryside and sea views, with gold en beaches and turquoise seas. It has beautiful wildlife and amazing footpaths. The food is lovely and the welcome is really wonderful with everybody being extremely friendly. Public transport is good, reasonably priced and even the taxis are good, if you do not want to use the car.

It also has one of the nicest bus stations in the world (Mao) with a great bar!
