We stayed here for our first family holiday with a 6 month old baby before returning to work from maternity leave.
The hotel is very, very clean and everyone is very friendly.
We had to pay to upgrade when booking due to standard rooms apparently not having any cot space (I have not seen a standard room so cannot comment). Therefore our room was very, very spacious. We had a spare bedroom and two bathrooms! There was a musty smell but we didn't complain as we just opened the door and windows when we were there to let a breeze through. Beautiful view, the balcony had a table and chairs and two sun loungers. It is a pity that there is no kettle, luckily we brought a travel kettle to make up bottles, etc. you can use the mini bar as a small fridge.
The food was what you would expect from an evening buffet, we switched our evening meal one day for a 'picnic lunch', this wasn't the best. I think it would be better to supply a voucher towards food from the snack bar.
I think that the time of year meant that we were the youngest there by at least 40 years and the entertainment wasn't our taste but there was a lovely bar a few minutes down the promenade called Manea which was lovely.
The promenade was perfect for walks with the pushchair, you could walk in either direction and it was great.
Sadly, the pools are only heated by the sun! I ventured in once and our baby dipped his toes in...no fun in his rubber ring unfortunately.
One thing that did annoy and inconvenience us was that we weren't able to pay to keep our room on the last day due to the hotel being full. Even the courtesy room was occupied. This is disappointing as the rep told us that we could and there are various signs around reception saying to ask about late check out. I know this is because of the hotel's popularity but it was a major inconvenience for us with a baby.
Overall, the holiday was ideal for us and we were able to walk to Playa Blanca (took us about 50 min). Next year we would probably go somewhere more child friendly but we enjoyed it this year!
Gracias!

I've just returned from a great week at the Natura Palace. The hotel was lovely for a peaceful week in the sun. The main selling points for me were the outdoor/pool areas which were immaculate and the friendliness of the staff. All of them were always happy and smiling and would do anything for you. I would definitely recommend the hotel if you are looking for a quiet week away. I'll be returning at some point in the future as the week I spent there was so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool as the view is excellent.

Not much to add to all the other good reviews on here. Lovely hotel, great food, charming staff.

Thank you to Danny the Thompson rep. I daffily left my Kindle on the plane and thought it was gone forever. We asked Danny and 24 hours later it was back in my hand. And a special mention for the cleaning staff who transformed our room each day and kept the whole hotel spotless.

I did wish for more company for our toddler. The hotel is obviously set up for families at busier times but that week there were very few kids and many older couples. There were families on the transfer coach but they mostly got off at the Rubicon up the road. The staff were great with our boy though - lots of joking in the dining room, no frowns as he ran round the lobby being a plane.

We were on the ground floor in the annex. It was quiet and private and no worries about the toddler falling. If you haven't got a young child you probably want to be higher, for the views.

We've stayed at many hotels in Playa Blanca, but this was the first time at the Natura Palace. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool and everything in the room was fine, in full working order apart from the shower curtain which was due for replacement in our opinion. All staff were cheerful and pleasant. We were half board and all each meal we had was very good, with a good choice. All food which was 'gluten free' was clearly labelled. We were only there for 5 nights for a 'relaxing break' which we definitely achieved. However in the evening the upstairs bar was empty, therefore lacking any holiday atmosphere so we went elsewhere to have a drink after our meal. The 'free internet' in the lobby was useful, but painfully slow. We had no problems at all getting sunbeds around the pool. Good for a relaxing holiday, but whilst we were there it was exceptionally quiet.

We stayed at the Hotel Natura Palace in mid-October for a week and had a really relaxing holiday. At the time, we were told that the hotel was around 80% full - but it really didn't feel like it! There seemed to be an air of calmness in the hotel and it never seemed crowded. It's rather difficult to put a 'style' on this hotel - certainly the entrance foyer is very spacious with lots of comfy chairs/sofas - and has a bit of an art-deco/retro feel about it. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean throughout - maybe some of the outside areas could do with a lick of paint - but generally the hotel is very stylish with beautifully maintained and pretty gardens.
We opted for a suite (mainly because we fancied a bit more space and the whirlpool bath just called us!) and were surprised by the very generous size of the rooms and the balcony with table, chairs and sunbeds. From the balcony there was a wonderful view across to Fuerteventura. Most rooms seem to face the sea, although there were just a few rooms on the lower floors which overlook the service area - so not such a pretty view! Ask for a higher floor. The hotel is 3-floors high - and generally all the buildings on the island are 'low-rise).

As for the hotel itself, all the staff were most helpful and friendly and all spoke when you met them. In the restaurant you are ushered to a table by the restaurant manager who always enquired how you were today - so no mad rush for tables and there was always plenty of room. As for the food itself - well, you would have a job to go hungry! Such a choice and much of it gluten-free too - at least, that's what the labels said. There is bubbly for breakfast if you want it; full English, really creamy porridge (!) and a whole host of continental dishes hot and cold - similarly for the evening meal. It is all buffet-style. The restaurant itself is quite intriguing, being designed around a glassed-in garden with some very large tropical plants.
The swimming pool areas are clean and well=planned with 2 swimming pools - one fresh water and one salt water, with a whirlpool inbetween. However, brace, brace, brace - the 2 main pools are only heated by the sun - so later on in the day may be the best bet for a (slightly) warmer swim. Both pools have a max depth of 1.6 metres. Plenty of sunbeds and certainly we didn't have any trouble getting 2 - many have parasols too. Outside there is a walled-off naturist area as well.
Our bedroom and bathroom was very well equipped with a very effective shower and there plenty of hot water. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept on on holiday - but it was fairly firm.

The Natura Palace is set on the western outskirts of Playa Blanca in a quiet area. There is a promenade pathway running along the back of the hotel with access through a gate which can be unlocked using your room keycard. Once on the prom you can either turn right and walk out to the lighthouse - about half-hour's leisurely walk. On the way are a number of bars for drinks or eats. We especially liked the Natura Beach Bar (Bacon Sandwich for approx. 3.20euros - bacon,2 slices bread, salad and fried egg and chips) Cocktail bar next door (place begins with M) - super cocktails - Argentinian Grill - where we had a gorgeous steak and a litre of red wine.
Turning left on the prom leads you towards Playa Blanca centre - that's a bit further - but again, bars etc on the way - many of which make nice fresh smoothies. Further still is the Rubicon Marina area which is a very pleasant area to walk around and ogle the smart boats! There is a large supermarket there - but it is worth noting that right opposite the entrance to the Natura Palace is a small supermarket which has some basic items - eg 5 litres of water for 1.25 euros.

The promenade is generally well paved and reasonably level - just a couple of inclines and one or two patches where the paving runs out, However, it is also used by cyclists - so a little care is needed to make sure you are not mown down! At night the promenade lighting is a bit patchy in places and a only a few cyclists seem to have lights on their cycles - so beware! That said, even without lighting you can still walk along the prom in the moonlight and there are some benches along the way for a romantic stop to view the twinkling lights of Fuerteventura across the bay and the moon on the ocean. Nice! By the way, there is a regular ferry that goes over to Fuerteventura from Playa Blanca.

So what else did we do? Not much really - but that was the whole point of our holiday. Having been to Lanzarote some 20 years ago when our children were 'children' we did a number of sight-seeing trips then. There is much to see on the island though. A good wheeze is to get the service bus which goes from the main road a couple of streets over from the hotel entrance and just stay on it until you get back again - it's a circular route and gives you the chance to see the layout of Playa Blanca so that you can go back and get off where you like at some other time. The fare was 1.35 euros per person.

So who goes there? It's fair to say that folks of all ages were there when we were and from talking to other guests, quite a number have been to the hotel at least once before - some more than that. The weather was manly sunny with temperature in the mid-upper 20's by day. Interestingly at night it cooled down quite a bit, but was still very pleasant and still able to be in shirtsleeves.

The whole airport experience was reasonably painless and the transfer was about 40mins. Flights from Bristol with Thomson were on time - in fact a bit ahead of schedule in both directions.
Now, a little tip here. If you have a coach transfer booked it's probably a good idea to make sure you have a suitcase with wheels, as there is a bit of distance from the terminal building, across the 'courtyard' along 2 moving walkways and up to the coach park. Ok, it's not a huge distance - but long enough if you don't have any wheels. (Yes, I suppose you could get an airport trolley)

Room Tip: Go for a room on the 3rd floor if you want good views.

We have recently returned from another lovely relaxing holiday. Everything about this hotel is perfect for us, the staff, the food and the quiet location.

My wife celebrated a birthday during our stay and received a bottle of wine and flowers in our room which was lovely.

Our room was spotless with towels etc., changed everyday. The maid was continually replacing shower gel/soap in our bathroom without being asked, although we did take our own. We always take a kettle, cups and coffee and have our own drinks in the fridge. The hotel even provides free mozzie plug-ins on request. No ironing board in the room - who wants to do ironing on holiday? There is a laundry service. Last year we did the tour of the hotel, kitchens, laundry room etc., which was very interesting.

We think it is a good idea to be escorted to a table in the dining room, otherwise it would be a bun-fight in view of the shape of the room and the tall plants in the middle (behind glass). There is a huge choice of food for every meal.

If the evening entertainment in the hotel does not suit, there is always the Marea bar close by which is lovely plus plenty of other bars in the resort.

We walked to the marina and back several times - good exercise! They have a market twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday. We used the "Le Petite Marmite" which seemed to be very popular.

We also hired a car from Cabrera Medina. We usually book on line beforehand but for some reason the car we choose is always unavailable. We have therefore decided in future to wait until we are in the resort to see what is available and to check the price. As well as the tourist places, the caves, cactus gardens, camels etc., there are lots of bodegas and aloe vera shops/outlets to visit.

We found prices in general on the island had increased since our visit last year but petrol is cheaper than the UK.

This hotel is in a quiet area - ideal for a relaxing break. Anyone who finds fault must have stayed at the wrong hotel and not read about it in advance. All staff very friendly and helpful.
Definitely a hotel for couples.
