“A very good hotel”

We went 17th March for a week AI. Room was overlooking the beach it was spacious and clean. All the staff and reps were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent caviar and champagne at breakfast, all the meat and fish was freshly cooked to order. The entertainment at night was the usual standard for AI. In fact we had nothing to complain about.

Room Tip: Did not use the spa. First floor rooms have a better view.

We had a lovely week here. We travel extensively and felt that the accommodation and facilities provided were good. The little kitchen area was well equipped, the apartment was extremely secure and safe for our 21 month old toddler and the food in the restaurant was plentiful, well cooked and extremely varied. In fact, there was definitely something for everyone. The downsides for us were the children's pools. The majority of people there had toddlers but the toddler pool was tiny and definitely not warm enough to stay in for long. The children's pool was inviting with its slides but freezing so again, not appropriate for small children. We love playa Blanca and have been to the resort before. We would stay at this hotel again but not in school holidays. The hotel became noticeably busier and noisier towards the end of the week when the schools broke up. The other thing we felt could be improved was the outside bit for the evening entertainment. We prefer to sit quietly so our little girl can be asleep while we get some much needed time together but the bar as too noisy inside and outside was great for enjoying the entertainment but the noise from the football tv and the air hockey games spoilt what could hVe been a nice atmosphere.

Stayed at the Flamingo Beach Resort in late March, after reading some of the trip advisor reviews prior to arriving at holiday resort we thought we would need to purchase meals at different venues, even though we booked as all inclusive. I think the people writing the reviews must have stayed in a different place, the food was excellent different choices for breakfast, lunch & dinner the hotel had one of the best selection of fresh fruit I have ever had in a hotel which includes some 5 star.
The hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. The accommodation was not luxurious but as it was an apartment rather than just a bedroom it did give you more space. The only real downside in the apartment was the bathroom needs up dating the shower was powerful but over a bath with a shower curtain. We had a lovey view from our apartment, and playa Blanca is a lovely area good walks along the promenade.

Me and my two daughters who were 9 and 12 were disappointed with this hotel, i don't recommend going here.

The room we stayed in was basic and run down. The floors were dirty and the sofa bed was hard and not comfortable to sleep on.

The food in this hotel was very poor and was often cold. There was no waiter to serve drinks which would of been a bit nicer if there was.

The entertainment was really for small children and not interesting to watch. But there was lots of things for kids and families to do during the day.

The location was good as it was beside the beach and a short walk to some pleasant shops.

Room Tip: Chose a room near the pool as the pool is close by lots of facilities and the restaurant.

We have just got back from a weeks stay at Flamingo Beach Hotel.
We upgraded to a superior apartment but this place is far from a 4 star.
The rooms are dated, the bath was tiny and our bed consisted of 2 single beds pushed together.
The worst part for me was the food, I honestly don't know why anyone says it is nice. The to start with the breakfast was either cold or under/over cooked, everything is clearly done on the cheap. If you have lunch go to the green and grill snack bar and eat it there, this was an improvement from the buffet they offer you at lunch which is just as rank as the breakfast. We ate dinner there the first night but ended up eating out for the rest of the holiday, I couldn't stomach it at all and expect far better quality from a 4 star resort.
They have a children's pool with a slide and water features and for the entire week I saw only a brave few enter it and not for very long, it is beyond freezing and far too cold for my toddler, the other pools are cool but tolerable.
The amenities in the rooms are non existent and although they provided us with a kettle, no milk, sugar of even a top up of tea bags were provided the whole week.
On a plus, the staff are friendly (however our rep wasn't) and the place is kept clean.
The location isn't bad but we found a far nicer beach at El Dorado which is closer to the centre where there are lots of shops and restaurants. I wish we had just gone self catering closer to the centre and not bothered with this place. We Wouldn't go back as there are much nicer resorts in better location close by.

perfect location and lovely holiday village the fact that the apartments are only on 2 levels gives it a open light feel the food was fab used the Bistro adult only in the evening loved the fresh cooked to order grill steaks fish poultry etc staff were very help full and always available rooms were very clean well done you all work very hard . The beach is great so handy and almost feels private may get busy peek season but you should expect that , loved the promenade walk to the town and Marina and left to the light house plenty of watering holes both ways . Our room was not one of the new refurbished one but was still in good order once the refub has been completed this will be excellent this the only reason I have given it a very good mark we loved it .

Room Tip: I would ask for a 1st floor room views are great out to sea and feel more private

Travelled March 2014 , arrived at told our apartment was # 80b it was like a Troglodyte cave that stank of sewerage, very very tired dark & outdated. We about turned back to reception to be told the apartments were full and anyway all the apartments were the same, we were then given a key to one 3 doors up which was exactly the same, smelly, old, damp & dark. Back to reception for a ' sit in' till the first choice rep arrived at 5 pm , he told us all were the same and there were no 'A' ( upstairs apartments) available. We asked to move & pay extra for a hotel, told wouldn't be able to do this as too late and the cost would be astronomical and we would loose any discounts we had obtained with our online booking. We were told nothing could be done till morning, very poor attitude towards us. Then miraculously they found an upstairs apartment we could have. We had no choice , the apartment was lighter and brighter but just as tired and smelly. The following morning we were told by the rep it would cost us another £460 if we wanted to move to a hotel and we would drop to half board instead of all inclusive.!! We reluctantly stayed where we were. An apology card and cheap bottle of plonk left in our room when we were out having dinner was poor compensation. When we saw the rep he ignored us. On a brighter note we loved the area of Playa Blanca and there are of course many more good quality hotels and apartments available . Some great shops cafés and restaurants too , lovely walks. Will return to resort but Not to Flamingo Beach Resort.

Room Tip: Don't stay here
