We travelled back in July for 2 weeks staying at the unfinished complex (we knew the complex was not finished) this did not bother us as we travelled as a couple and went out every day.
The complex itself is great for young families with children, although for me it would be too over crowded in high season. The apartments have all you need for a self catering holiday ( we booked a private apartment) not all inclusive, I don't think the AI option would suit everyone as they do not have many options?
The location right on a safe clean beach is excellent (Flamingo Beach) it's a shame the beach bar and sun beds have been moved/removed, I don't understand why but I believe it's the council !
You are nice 10 minute walk to the ferry and a small commercial centre and 5 mins further you come to the main resort of Playa Blanca with its usual shops, bars and eating places (don't expect to be raving all night) as it's a quite area that closes down around midnight (July 2014) with the exception of a couple of places.
There are plenty of good places to eat along the sea front, all fairly similar with a decent view
It's worth getting a car or scooter so you can visit the other resorts and beaches.
Overall it's a nice place to visit for a week or so, this is our second visit in the past 12 months so we won't be going back for a while. ( off to Corfu next week)

Room Tip: If you can get a front line apartment that would be great, look to rent privately and not through th...

Just returned from a fortnight stay at the Flamingo Beach Resort with our two sons (ages 6 and 10) and their grandparents. When we arrived, the reps greeted us with songs and dances and we had canapés and champagne. This has to be the best holiday we have had. All the staff work really hard and long hours and the whole resort is spotless. The food in the restaurants was fantastic with a wide range to appeal to all tastes. The reps were so friendly and their daytime and evening entertainment was brilliant. They always had time for you and would say hello whenever you bumped into them. The rooms have recently been refurbished and spotlessly clean. We pulled the two sofas together to form a double bed for our sons and this worked really well. The rooms we had were 35A and 36A which overlooked the Green and Grill Restaurant and had a beautiful sea view and you could see Furterventura. This was only a short distance away from all amenities but in a quite spot. The stroll along the beach front to Playa Blanca takes about 15 minutes and is a lovely walk. We could mention that there is a scramble for sun beds in the mornings (as other people have) but you will get this at any hotel in the school holidays. We will definitely be going back to this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone. Anyone reading this who has booked to go there can rest assured that you will have a great holiday.

Room Tip: Recommend rooms 35A as very close to amenities but very quite with beautiful sea views.

On arrival at hotel we were greeted by reps singing and dancing at the entrance and with drinks in reception this gave a very good first impression.
Rooms all recently refurbished to a very high standard.
We were in room 40A which was a perfect location we had a view of the main pool and also could see the sea.
We were close to reception the main restaurant and the blue moon and sports bar but not close enough that there was any noise.
This meant it was very easy to nip back to room when we were at the pool.

We used main pool every day and had no problem getting sun beds every day. Yes we has to go down for them to be unlocked at 9am but I prefered this than having to get up at a ridiculous hour to put a towel on one.
Entertainment at main pool was great we as a family loved it!
Things such as water polo, daily quiz, canoe games, party dances and lots more!
Always something going on for kids and adults.
Both my children aged 11 and 8 used kids clubs daily.
They loved them and used to go to reception every morning to pick the clubs they wanted to go too. Their favourite was the chocolate party but they enjoyed all that they went to.
I think my daughter went about 30 times!
She had an ear infection while there and wasn't allowed In pool for a few days so kids clubs were great to keep her entertained.
All staff at kids clubs were fantastic so good with the kids and they work so hard and u can tell they really enjoy their jobs.
My kids loved them all nick, welsh Amy, King Matt, Hollie, josh, Mileyy, ash(listen out for ash's laugh it's hilarious), Amy, Ant and I know there's lots more but I don't know all the names there were so many of them.

Hotel staff were great too from reception staff to cleaners and restaurant staff anyone we came in contact with was very pleasant.

entertainment was great too with the fab entertainment team of Lois, rik, Sophie, Lacey, ant and Callum.
They really gave it 110%!
Kids loved the hi5 live at night and we loved the quiz shows
And their cabaret shows.

Particular favourites were the Wednesdays when they had team day this involved lots of challenges throughout the day and night were it was reps against guests.
Hv got talent was a great show were my husband was roped into entering manamatazz with some other dads pleased to say they came first beating all the reps.

My daughter did the stage academy razamatazz and loved it so much she did it twice.
This involved 3 sessions over 3 days and then a performance on the 3rd night in the blue moon.
Amy and Sarah the reps who did this were fantastic And my daughter really enjoyed it.

One rep I would like to give a special mention too is nick.
My husband, daughter and son signed up for the aerial challenge.
We were suprised at my son Adam he's only 8 but has a real fear of heights but he insisted he wanted to do it.
Well he climbed to the top did the first one crying and then froze. He would not budge.
Not for his dad just wouldn't move was clinging to this trunk.
Well nick had to climb up and I thought he would have to bring him down but with nicks encouragement and help Adam managed to complete it.
Nick went with him every step constantly talking to him and encouraging him I couldn't believe that Adam did it.
All thanks to nick and I think we probably kept him late too as Adam took so long.
But after that day nick always went out of his way to talk to Adam and Adam now wants to go to whatever hv nick is at every year! My son absolutely adored him.
He says he's his hero.
On our last day our coach was leaving at 5 and even though it was nicks afternoon off he came up to reception to say goodbye and wave us off. Along with the razamatazz girls and welsh Amy and other reps.
They even carried our bags onto the coach and stood and waved and ran alongside the coach as it drove off.
They really are a great bunch of people and are what made our holiday so good.
First choice just be very proud of the great team they have in holiday village lanzarote.

We as a family had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return again.

There's only one negative that I have and I've heard this only since I've returned and that is that the reps are not allowed to eat the fresh meat in the restaurant or to sit In the restaurant due to a guest complaining they had to wait in a queue for the fresh meat behind some reps.
This is an absolute disgrace and needs addressed these reps work so hard and deserve some healthy food considering the long hours they work.
I really hope the hotel manager can see guests are not happy at the reps treatment and this needs to be changed immediately!!!!

To anyone booked to go to the holiday village lanzarote u will have an amazing time

Just one clarificarion about, "the reps are not allowed to eat fresh meats". Every team member take food from the main buffet restaurant. The only thing is they must go to eat in the staff canteen.

Many Thanks

Spent 2 weeks at Flamingo Beach Holiday village, 24th July to 7th August. We emailed the hotel a month before our visit to request our apartment, we were not disappointed. Our apartment was very specious and had been recently renovated (June) to a very high standard.
The food in all the restaurant's was to a very good standard, with something for everyone. The staff in the restaurants were constantly working, cleaning and preparing tables, we never had to que for a table.
The staff around the pool area and other public areas worked hard to keep the place spotless, pity the guests wouldn't put rubbish and drinks cups in the bins.
We mostly chose our sunbeds in the quiet area (yellow sunbeds). Unfortunately someone had the "bright" idea to rope off one area as a meeting point for the Escape club. This escape meeting point would be better beside the stage area, as the constant screaming and throwing of cushions was a bit of a nuisance, not to mention the rubbish they left behind.
Can't praise the entertainment team enough, as our son Terence, who has Special Needs, had a fantastic time and enjoyed joining in with some of the activities. We especially want to thank, Ric, Lois, Wendy, Sophie and Ant who worked their socks off, not forgetting Callum, their tech specialist. Also want to mention Laura, who had our son for swimming lessons, she worked hard with Terence on a 1 to 1 bases. Terence also attended the Razzmatazz academy with Amy and Sarah, they were wonderful and Terence enjoyed every minute of it.
We have been to Flamingo Beach 3 times in the past 5 years and this has been the best holiday by far. Thank you to all the staff and entertainment team, hope to see you all again soon xxx

We returned to Flamingo Village once again and we wowed by the beautiful refurbishments.
Our room was immaculate and we had a view that was amazing.
Again the food was beautiful with lots of choice and the added restaurant The Green and Grill was such a bonus and food was cooked here freshly and to your own preference.
All of the First Choice entertainment team were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble even making my children feel like old friends.
Visiting this holiday village is a must as not only the resort life is brilliant but also the adjoining beach is perfect.
The only downside of this resort as is with other holiday villages is the sunbed situation.
Basically if your towels are not on a bed by 5am then you will be disappointed.

But overall the whole holiday was a total success and well worth the money.
A definite third visit will be on the cards x

We've just got back from being here for 2 weeks with a 5 and 7 year old, well what can I say, it was brilliant.
The food was good the apartment was clean and 30 seconds from the beach too. The only bit that was a pain was queuing for the sunbeds each morning for an hour until they unlock them at 9 am.
A massive thanks to all the reps for making our holiday , the shows we're great with Ric, Ant,Sophie and Lacey, you guys work so hard and we loved watching every night , and Sundays are just too quite without you Lois !!!(hi yaaaaaa) Yellow yellow yellow .......

Thanks for entertaining our kids and of course us, hope to see you at our next HV.

This was our first family holiday abroad so we didn't know what to expect. Every one has their own personal views and expectations of their experiences. I have to say though that Flamingo Beach was absolutely brilliant for us. We had an amazing time and could not fault this resort at all. It was beyond our expectations and the standards were out of this world. We stayed here for 2 weeks in July withour 5 year old and 8 year old. Our room was 47B which I have to say was in the perfect location. It was a down stairs apartment overlooking the main pool. It was right next to the buffet restaurant, main entrance and close enough to the entertainment. We had a one bed room apartment - my two children slept in the bedroom while my husband and I slept in the living area and just pushed the sofa beds together to make a big square bed. The room was newly refurbished and was extremely clean, the house keeping staff did a fantastic job and I was very impressed by their high standard of cleaning. My children did about 6 kids clubs each over the 2 weeks and loved every one of them. The entertainment team work so hard and do an amazing job of keeping the kids and even adults entertained to give everyone a fantastic holiday. I was amazed by the amount of hours the HV team worked during our stay. They do work very hard and very long hours which I appreciated in order for them to contribute towards my brilliant holiday. We visited the on-site restaurants - Green and Grill was our favourite but I have to admit that we didn't really like the Italian one. However, the main buffet restaurant provided a wide range of dishes, options and amazing food. I'm a pudding queen and loved the selection of deserts. If you want to get up early for a sun bed then that is your own personal choice. We didn't bother and just found other things or places to enjoy the sun. There are a few pools to choose from and a lovely clean beach. We enjoyed the submarine trip and half day volcano trip. (I have say though if you visit this resort do find time to spend a couple of walks or evenings in playa blanca because it is a lovely place). I would definitely visit this resort again. We loved every minute.

Room Tip: 47b was over looking the main pool.
