Our first time in lanzarote and first time in Iberostar hotels. I always thoroughly read reviews before booking. The hotel is spot on. No issues and in a great, quiet location right on the sea. Some incredible views, from most rooms. We did not have a complete sea view but i am sure you could ask for one......The staff are all, without exception, friendly and very helpful. Yes, the rooms are a little dated, but they are very big, plenty of space and very very clean and tidy. The rest of the facilities are perfect including the bars and restaurants, public toilets very clean and modern. We loved the pool areas, clean pool, new loungers, bars at the pool side. Normally, we find the entertainment in these all inclusive hotels a little too much - however the star friends team that provide entertainment through the day are perfect - very friendly and no pressure either way. There is activities throughout the day, plus evening entertainment in both bars....casino type cards (for fun!) , pianist, singer - plus very good main entertainment in the basement lounge - which we enjoyed every night. Good variety of talent acts plus shows they put on themselves.

The staff need to be singled out in this review - they are all incredibly friendly and helpful - in every area of the hotel!

Thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Only small problems or areas i would mention - but not by any means negative - are:

- internet access in our room - was difficult to obtain, rest of hotel seemed fine so not a major problem, just convenience.

- Food was very well cooked and delicious - every day - but was a little predictable

- Pillows were small - but we did not ask for extras during stay, they probably would have gave extra pillows for us

Would stay again.

Room Tip: Ask to ensure you will get wifi in room - if you need it for business. Ask for sea view - it is a lovely view if you can get it!

I stayed here with a group of friends in March, this was a last minute, two night stay, to extend our holiday. The staff were very friendly and we received an unexpected upgrade, which is always a bonus.

The communal areas are of a very good standard, and you are spoilt for choice at the buffet breakfast, which does not compromise on quality.

We had a suite consisting of two bedrooms, with ensuite bathrooms, and a living area, which was great for a group meeting point. The rooms are in need of some modernisation, but very clean and acceptable.

The location of the hotel is good, being a short seafront walk to the Rubicon Marina containing lots of shop and restaurants, and a weekly Market.

My only negative would be to watch out at the poolside bar. I ordered a cocktail here which came in a small plastic cup and cost me the same as the tall elaborate cocktail I received in the bar.

Overall I would recommend this Hotel.

We took good note of your comment on the drinks served at our pool bar and would like to take the opportunity to explain that as per the Spanish law, bars in pool areas and beaches are not allowed to serve drinks in proper glasses but only in plastic ones so as to avoid guests walking barefoot to cut themselves on eventual broken glasses; we sincerely lament your disappointment.

On the other hand, we thank you for pointing out the genuine friendliness of our staff as well as the quality of our extensive breakfast buffet and the cleanliness of our accommodations and public areas.

My wife and I booked through SAGA for a fortnight's stay at this hotel. March 27th to April 10th. We booked a side sea view room. The room we were allocated (room 511) looked out across a road to some rubbish bins. The sea was only visible from part way along the balcony, and was simply a view of some water. If we had not paid the £90.00 upgrade we would have had a room across the corridor with a pool and partial sea view. On complaining to the hotel and SAGA we were told that a side sea view NEVER applied to a room, but usually applied to a balcony, even if one had to hang over the edge to see it. Therefore I feel cheated. Its up to you whether to book this hotel or not, the food is OK but bland and repetitive. The hotel is clean.
Its about time that the English trading standards people took an interest in this sort of scam. Rooms are advertised with a Balcony AND sea view, not as with a balcony WITH sea view, if you understand my meaning.

Although we sincerely regret reading your disappointment on the location of the room we accommodated you in, we would like to take the opportunity to point out that we make our allocations in accordance with the room type selected at the time of booking through travel agents and tour operators; In order to be ensured to see the sea from inside the room, we suggest a seafront view accommodation; the side sea view meaning that the front view may be on the gardens, street or pool depending on the hotel’s location, with the sea on the left or right seeable from the balcony and not from the room; we lament the misunderstanding.

Moreover, the gastronomy being one of the prime pillars of IBEROSTAR we are very sorry to read that our buffets did not meet your expectations; however, the variety is guaranteed by the 15 days menus rotation followed by our Chefs in order to ensure that our guests can savor many different flavors throughout their stay at our hotel, ranging from local succulent dishes to the best international delights in order to cater for all diet requirements and please all palates, we regret we couldn’t conquer yours.

On the other hand, thorough cleaning is an absolute must for IBEROSTAR and we thank you for highlighting the cleanliness of our hotel; we strive to give total confidence in this area, being fully aware that this is the base for a comfortable holiday experience in any hotel.

The staff and food at this hotel are brilliant, however the fabric of the hotel could be a lot better. It would seem that general maintenance is a bit lacking, with parts of walls broken/falling off. Bath in our room chipped and not repaired properly. The entertainment team made a joke about one of the stars (from the 4star iberostar rating) falling on the floor, therefore leaving only three stars on the wall. !! WIFI although free in the lounge bar for half an hour a day, was chargeable for the rest of the two weeks and only worked on one device at a time, very expensive. With today's technology and needs I would think that if WIFI was free to all for the whole of the holiday the ratings would be better. The lounge bar when in use has a pool table television and music on all at the same time!!! Yesterday someone was practicing piano, and the bar music was also playing.. We have stayed on lanzarote several times and would say that the size of your hotel is great, and we'll worth staying at. This review is intended to be positive, it should not stop people travelling here but with care the hotel could be so much better.

Arrived on the 31st of March with my mother for a week and had one of the best holidays. I booked the holiday and hotel a week before and wasn't sure what to think. I read the reviews of the hotel and was happy with going ahead and booking it.
The hotel was fantastic, it was clean and the pool area was spotless with a fantastic view of the sea. All of the staff were so helpful and really friendly. I loved where the hotel was situated but if you want to be in a busier area then it may be slightly out. We walked to the harbour and then onto Playa Blanca twice a day after breakfast and dinner, the harbour rubicon is gorgeous and there are lovely boutiques and a supermarket there.
Our room was a family room and we loved the fact it was more spacious and had a fridge to keep some drinks in. The cleaner Barca did a lovely job and left us a fresh flower which i thought was a lovely touch.
We went half board and the food was excellent, so much to choose from and if you wanted to be healthy or treat yourself you had the option too. The chefs and waiters were happy and the food was lovely. The pancakes in the morning made my day.
Our stay was perfect, there really wasn't anything i could fault apart from not booking 2 weeks. If i was to return to Playa blanca i would 100% return to this great hotel.
