Just returned from a week's stay and found everything to be marvellous. We travelled with our friends so there were two couples staying in a three bedroom, three bathroom villa and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The villa was spotless and modern, with a large kitchen and dining area, large lounge with doors opening onto a very large terrace with table and chairs. There were also four sun beds with comfy cushions and two parasols so perfect if you wanted to be private and not sit around one of the three pools. There were always plenty of sun beds there too but as it was quite windy we never ventured into the pools. We ate breakfast most mornings at the onsite restaurant/bar, Ruby's, as well as dinner on two nights, which was excellent. The staff there were very friendly and helpful, as in fact were all the other staff we met. The weather had been terrible right up until the day we arrived but while we were there, the sun shone practically every day although it was still very windy. We went most nights to Playa Blanca as there was a very good selection of restaurants there. We ate either Spanish, Mexican or Chinese and all were very good with lots of free after dinner drinks handed out! We did walk there twice but it was quite a long walk, along a main road, taking about 25 minutes so we used the taxis which were readily available. Fare was around 3 Euros so pretty reasonable.A little negative thought is that while one of the bedrooms was huge and ensuite with a wet room, the other two were comparitively much smaller although still perfectly adequate. It would be great if the owners realised that sometimes it is two couples staying rather than a family so two large ensuite bedrooms might be a good idea. Another little negative is the lack of free wifi in the villas but I had read the owner's explanation of the charge so perhaps that it something they are considering changing in the future. However, I would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return.

We recently returned from our first visit to Jardines del Sol, and hopefully it won't be our last! The bungalows are of great size including a well equipped kitchen and great sun terrace. The second bedroom a bit on the small side for 2 adults but no other issues with the accommodation. Well maintained grounds & fantastic pool area. Staff excellent. We also can't fault the onsite restaurant - food amazing! All within a leisurely walk to the seafront (although be aware the route is not very well lit at night).

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment beginning of December for one week. It was perfect. The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. The small complex is extremely well maintained with the gardens manicured on a daily basis. Ruby's restaraunt was ideal and well priced for a big breakfast, or a light lunch and cool beer if you just wanted to idle the day away by the warm pools. Can't praise the reception staff enough for their friendly, helpful, courteous approach to all their guests. I've never been anywhere where ALL employees acknowledge the clientele with a smile and greeting.

Taxis are plentiful and cheap and located just outside the complex, I also have never had the experience of being contacted by reception before your holiday to ask if you need any assistance with transfer, we accepted the offer and efficiently the minibus picked us up on time from the airport and was half the price of online taxis. This is a nice personal touch with a friendly voice acknowledging our imminent arrival and stating they were looking forward to welcoming us-and they appeared to mean it!

Lots of nice restaurants-two favourites were the Casa Roja on the Rubicon Marina (huge Tbone steaks and tasty chateaubriand on hot slates, and a little quirky Italian called L'Artista

Overall a lovely winter warmer.

We stayed at the apart/hotel last week. We had a two bed villa, which we shared with our friends. The master bedroom was of a good size and had decent wardrobe space and a chest of drawers. Bathroom had bath and shower. We had the second bedroom, which we found inadequate for two adults. A small wardrobe with one shelf. As we wanted a double bed they put the two singles together. This left the bedside table on one side, but my husband had to squeeze in the other side to get to bed. The bed was very comfortable. (The second bedroom was more suitable for two children or one adult). The shower room was OK. The kitchen was of a good size, but with very basic cooking utensils. The lounge diner was fine and we had a good range of british TV programmes. There is a small terrace for sunbathing and outdoor eating. The villa was serviced every other day. Kitchen bits were replenished, as were the bathrooms. We found this to be an excellent plus.
The grounds are well attended by lovely friendly staff. Reception was excellent. Helpful, friendly, professional people. It had some excellent touch screen information boards. Internet was free for 20 mins at the screen in the reception. Pool areas for children and adults, very well set out in the centre of the complex.
Ruby's restaurant was very handy and served reasonably priced, good food. The staff, as always, good.
We would stay at this complex again as, apart from the 2nd bedroom, it was an extremely enjoyable stay.
It was good to see ramped areas for wheelchairs or for those not so able to climb steps.

Room Tip: Villa 21B is well located if you like a quiet area away from the roads and the noise of the evening...

We have just returned after a quick cheap week in Hotel Corbeta (self catering) just 10mins walk away from Jardines de Sol, but as regular visitors (three times this year) we ate most of our lunch and evening meals in Ruby's.
Thanks again Lord David & Lady Sandra for the best food, staff and company in Playa Blanca. We missed having a coffee with Jeanette but we will try again in January. We missed the pig racing night with Webby as we only arrived late Tuesday, but the karaoke night with Kate and Rich was as always great. Joe Norfolk's singing night should not be missed.

We stayed in a 2 bed bungalow for 10 days. such a peaceful location, Everything you could need dishwasher oven good size freezer washing machine great storage clean and modern UK TV channels even a telly in your bedroom and blackout blinds!! All staff are friendly and always say Ola. Renovations were taking place when we were there but they were minimal and they did not disrupt our stay.
Each bungalow had their own private terrace with loungers and patio table and chairs, We hired a car which I would recommend only 30 mins from the airport and great to have for getting to Papaygayo beaches or Timanafaya National Park or El Golfo for lunch.
Jardines del sol is about a 20 mins walk to town centre, the nearest supermarket is a 2 min walk in the Hotel Paradise fine for essentials but for a proper shop the eurospar in playa limones or hiperdino opposite bus station which is a 2/ 5 min drive away
Do climb Montana Roja volcano behind the resort for beautiful views of playa blanca
Restaurants we would recommend La Bocaina a lovely restaurant beside the petrol station about 15 mins walk Romantica in the town centre Taberna Godina for Tapas in the CC Papaygayo.
Rubys the restaurant on site is nice also we had breakfast lunch and dinner there and all was good
Taxi approx. 3 euro into the centre from immediately outside the resort and bus stop around the corner all in all a perfect location for couples or families

Room Tip: we stayed in 14A opposite reception which is near the front gate but would have more foot traffic

We have just returned from 7 nights at JDS and we had a great time there. The accommodation is spacious to say the least, with two good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge diner, kitchen and entrance hallway. Also, not forgetting the all important, veranda with a table big enough to seat 6 people and a couple of sunbeds. All is very clean and tidy with very friendly staff who will do whatever they can to enhance your stay.

One little point that I liked was, it was my wife's birthday while we were there and te staff left a bottle of Cava in our room with a birthday message. This was completely unprompted and a really nice touch that shows the level of service to be first class.

The pool area and Ruby's bar/restaurant were also good, never an issue getting a bed at the pool due to their 'use it or lose it' policy, and all this contained within a gated enclosure. You also have mini golf, table tennis, pool, table football etc available to use at no extra cost.

If I had to be critical about anything it is their WiFi. It is not included in the price of your stay which is ridiculous for any modern accommodation especially a 4 star establishment. If you want a connection to the site wide WiFi it'll cost you 7 Euro for one day and can only be accessed on one device. Added to this the fact that the connection is extremely slow (1MBit download) means it is ridiculously bad value and best avoided. With numerous bars, restaurnts and even some supermarkets (Hiperdino) offering free access it is easy to do what you need but does mean leaving the tranquil setting of JDS and taking your spending money elsewhere. I think the management of JDS really need to rethink this particular policy but luckily everything else was so good it didn't taint our overall opinion of the place.

This was our third stay in Playa Blanca, first time in JDS, but we will definitely return to JDS next time.

Thank you for all the nice words you agreed to share with your fellow travellers and our potential future guests. We are pleased to read that you had an overall pleasant stay here at Jardines del Sol, although we regret to learn that there may have been some aspects of your stay you were not entirely satisfied with. As far as Wi-Fi is concerned we would like to clarify that large resort’s guests require a 24/7 internet access which necessitates a wide bandwidth which unfortunately comes at a cost. Most businesses can incorporate this into their pricing and so appear to provide a free service, but in reality it is not. In order to do the same within a timeshare resort, each HOA Board must approve the cost of providing this service. The Boards, at this time, believe that each individual should pay those costs if and when they use the service. Please be advised that we do not profit from the fees related to Wi-Fi as these are charged by a 3rd party internet provider. That being said, receive a lot of feedback in regard to Wi-Fi costs, and are in discussion with our Homeowner’s Association to see if this can be covered for guests in the future. We do hope this has not marred your stay, however, and wish that we may see you again in the future!
