It took us about 40 minutes to walk up. we then walked around the top of the crater which gave fabulous views of the area.

We went for a guided walk up the local volcano. Red mountain or Montana Rojas. Steep climb but the views from the top are fantastic. Climbed down into the crater and walked to the other side no wind in the crater so you really felt the heat. On the rim though the wind is incredibly strong but quite welcome. Came back smothered in dust but had a really good time.

My insane wife ran up this volcano. I opted for a more sedate walk. The views from the top are great, but be warned, the wind is strong enough to blow you off.

Not so sure about where people have used stones to write their names. Almost graffiti.

Went for a run up here from my hotel (H10 Rubicon Palace). Bit of a steep climb on the way up, but well worth it. The views are amazing and you can go all around the top of the crater. Just watch out for the wind close to the edge!

Lovely views when you've reached the top. Take a camera and a bottle of water! Don't forget suncream like many burnt people did!!
