“Good Quality Villa”

Husband and I stayed 1 week as a couple. Booking process and instructions beforehand from owners was excellent. Very clear instructions on how everything operated. Good quality furnishing and fittings expecially the outside furniture. Made use of utility room and use of pool towels saved luggage space. Owner left milk, water, bottle of cava, etc to get us started.Everything very clean, beds comfy and location of very peaceful. Used hot tub twice in the week when weather was colder. Pool is good size You definitely need to hire a car for the location as its a 10 minute drive from the centre of Playa Blanca but local supermarket, bakery etc just 3 minute walk away. Would stay again.

“Fab - clean, quiet and spacious.”
Reviewed 7 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We stayed at Casa Palana as a last minute get away for some winter sun in early December. We had a great stay, enjoyed the space and peace and quiet.

The villa is very clean and well equipped with everything you could desire for a comfortable stay. Everything was modern and worked well.
Whilst the villa caters for up to six (3 double beds) we were just two and had masses of space. I noted there were only sun lounging facilities for up to 4 people - but maybe this is something that could be addressed if the villa had more than 4 sunbathers staying at any one time.

The pool is heated via a solar system, which in the winter months when the sun shines less gives a "refreshing" pool temperature, we jumped into cool down briefly but spent more time warming up in the hot tub! No doubt in the summer its a little more pleasant. The pool and hot tub are meticulously well kept by the owner whom came round to check on the various chemistries a couple of times in the week we were there.

The booking process was fairly painless and all dealt with efficiently with the owner on-line, damage deposit was returned on the day we went home, very efficiently. We were unfortunate enough to experience an evening of power cuts, the owner contacted us to tell us where the candles were, but we had to improvise for candle sticks - since this is not a common occurrence I wouldn't worry too much!

The Villa itself is located on a residential estate known as Faro Park, this is a clean and tidy (and finished!) estate. We found the estate to be very quiet in the winter with no noise from the estate/access roads. It is a 5 minute walk to the local shops and restaurants/bars - a few were closed in December for holidays. Whilst a car might not be essential if you're happy lazing by the pool for 7 days, if you want to nip into Playa Blanca of an evening it will make your life easier (10-15min drive). Walking via the coastal path from the end of the street makes the centre of Playa a 4 mile walk. From the lighthouse the seafront is largely paved all the way into town (ideal for cycling with kids).

I personally used it as a base for some proper road cycling rides - the LZ-2/LZ-701 are pretty busy main roads out of town, a bit flat and can be dull, however good for a warm up/blast back - plan your ride carefully headwinds aren't your friend along this stretch. The alternative being the LZ-702 up to Femes, but this will get the heart going being a pretty short steep climb.

Whilst we don't go holiday to watch TV its worth noting access to UK TV comes via internet through an Android based streaming media box - if this sentence reads gobbledegook to you then you'll find it fairly fiddly to navigate/use - moreover these boxes are at the whim of the various providers whom try to block access to certain channels if access is attempted from non UK networks - i.e. you might not be able to watch you latest soap episode in the villa. Bring some DVDs instead.

In summary we would recommend Casa Palana as an excellent place to stay and would return.

Many thanks for your kind comments and pleased to read you enjoyed your stay and the facilities on offer. Sorry to hear you found the TV difficult to navigate but sadly this is the only reliable system available on our tiny island to date and when we experience power cuts or adverse, unusual weather conditions it can also limit access.....we desparately await up to date fibre optics which are much needed and from what we understand are on the way!!! - there are several DVD's available in the TV cabinet for guest use.
We hope to welcome you back to enjoy more winter sun in the future.
Our kind regards
Paul and Cerys

“A piece of pure paradise!”

I had no knowledge of the villa, other than it was in Playa Blanca, as my wife had wanted to surprise me with the actual accommodation.
We were picked up at the Airport by owner Paul who played the game, maintaining the surprise element in the short journey to the property. Surprise is understating my reaction when I was given an introductory tour of the property. The accommodation within the villa is excellent, only surpassed in my opinion by the outdoor facilities, ranging from the extensive patio areas, well-landscaped garden areas, outdoor barbecue through to the superb pool and wonderful hot tub. It is clear that any holidaymaker will benefit from both the knowledge that the owners have from their time living on the island through to their meticulous attention to detail that have turned a lovely family home into a first-class holiday villa.
A short walk (3 or 4 mins) takes you to a little commercial area where there are a couple of supermarkets, several good restaurants, a couple of bars and cafes (great pastries Dave); in short anything you might need. I think the centre of Playa Blanca would be worth a look but really we had everything we needed in, and around, the villa.
if you head west a walk of 5 or 6 minutes will take you to the coast and the opportunity for wonderful sunsets.
My review is full of superlatives and I can find nothing to say about this property that isn't complimentary.
Many thanks to Paul and Cerys for making our week at Casa Palana a truly amazing experience (and to my beautiful wife for creating a dream break for me). We will return at any opportunity.

As owners who have the advantage of living locally and therefore offer a personal management service of our rental villa, Casa Palana, we strive to provide the upmost in quality, comfort and service to all of our guests.
It therefore saddens us immensly to find negative comments from guests who during their final day wrote such positive, glowing reviews in our villa guest book - to quote " we have had a fantastic holiday, the villa is perfect, like being at home and the owners are really friendly and offer excellent advice"
Frustratingly, as experienced rental managers for over 12 years, this is the first occasion where severe damage has occured which has culminated in monies being withheld. This particular guest was in breach of contract from the onset of their stay as they had decided to bring a younger (under our 40 years of age limit) guest without prior consent. Sadly it appears that hair colour/dye has been used by the younger guest during their stay and as a result tranfsferred permanent staining to a complete set of bedding, several towels, bath mat and the discolouring of a marble shower floor.....hence the reason for the need to replace these items at a much greater cost than the amount withheld.
In reassurance to any future guest, please focus on the positve comments initially left by this guest and not those tinged with "sour grapes" in their latest review.
