“Convenient if Barcelona is not your only goal”
Reviewed 7 June 2013

The location is approx. 20 minutes from the center of Barcelona by train. The train is considered local, so the T-10 train/metro card works for easy access to the city. The train also provides access easily to Sitges, Girona and other locales. So, the location is very convenient if you don't mind missing the nightlife of Barcelona itself. The hotel is situated across from a long, sandy (not rocks) beach. We found the food alternatives for dinner slim, probably because we were there in late May/early June before the true beach season. The hotel itself and our room was clean; but the bed and furnishings were so old and heavily worn. We were given a room with a huge balcony, ocean view, on which we enjoyed several late afternoons for relaxing. However, there was a permeating unpleasant odor in the room, probably from days past when smoking was permitted everywhere. That being said, I would recommend this hotel, especially for families who may want a little space for the kids to run around with the really nice pool area at the hotel and beach. For couples like us w/no children, I would recommend staying in the city itself for at least a few nights, and staying in this more remote location as a base for visiting wine country, Sitges etc.

Room Tip: If you want the ocean view, you have to give up quiet as the street noise is constant.

I stayed there for 5 consecutive nights and weather was not suitable for swimming in pool, therefore can not say anything about that. Rooms were clean spacious enough but for March a little bit too cold, so I use air-con to make my self cousy. There was no tea/coffee pot, so I asked at desk to provide me with one and they did so, but they forgot to refill it every day. For business travelers, who wants to visit Barcelona, this is not a hotel I would recommend, since distance from center of Barcelona is about one hour drive away, but take into account it was a Mobile World Congress time, I would say it is a good choice. Maybe the only negative experience would be the positioning of smoking lounge in between entrance and reception, so everybody has to pass the cloud of smoke to get to reception or to enter into hotel. My opinion is, that they have to move smoking lounge somewhere else. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of local salami choices. Good choices of restaurants in walking distance. WiFi was included in price, but lack some speed, though enough for updating my mail and socializing trough Facebook and linked In.

We stayed here for two nites before our cruise.
It is a bit out of Barcelona, but we took the bus to and from, abotu 40 minutes each way. Did not know about a train.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was very nice, new, clean, and we had an ocean view.
Got a pizza in the bar, was okay. The breakfast was good, lots of variety, and fresh.
There is a computer in the lobby one can use.
The beach is just across the street, nice to walk on.
Would have no issue staying here again.

three nights in a comfortable and quiet room close to the very good beach and a very short walk to some excellent restaurants. A local railway station is five minutes walk away and the trains take 20 mins to take you into central Barcelona. The pool is fine and the gym looked OK too. Breakfast was fine and the staff were really helpful. Easily recommend this place as a base.

Room Tip: my room was in the block towards the rear and faced a side street...so no sea view but quiet.

I stayed here for three nights with my wife and two other couples. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, could not be faulted. The rooms were pleasant, very clean and quite modern fittings, they are not big rooms but big enough for us. Nice small pool around the back to sit out and relax. Breakfast was typical of continental hotels with just scrambled egg and some pretty average local bacon as a hot selection, the continental selection was just average, okay for a few days but might get boring if here longer. This is out of season so it may improve in busier periods.

We ate in the restaurant one evening which was not the same room as breakfast and was a cosy room. What I believe was the hotel proprietor served us and he was very attentive and provided great service. All six of us enjoyed our meal, some of the descriptions of the desserts in English were a bit misleading, English custard and cream turned out to be creme caramel and whipped cream, just ask the server and they might be able to tell you what it really is.

I couldn't get WiFi in my room but got a reasonable connection in public areas of the hotel. I had a couple of visits to the gm which was limited to treadmill, bike, a rack of free weights and one multi weights machine. There was a also nice Spa area with sauna and hot tub.
The beach is just about 100 yards away, well kept too.

The station is five minutes walk and we travelled in to Barcelona and in the other direction to Tarragona. The timetables on he renfe website are difficult to work out but the staff at Castelldefels station were very helpful although with little English.

We would have no hesitation staying here again.

We stayed here for a week in May 2012. The hotel is clean, and rooms are well maintained. Castelldefels is situated at 30 min by train from Barcelona, so if you want to visit Barcelona, and you are short on time, this is not a good option for you. We did not tried the restaurant, but there are plenty of good restaurants in this little city. It is quite and friendly.

0In stayed during the off season for business and very accessible by Taxi from the airport (some 25Euro)
I arrived early on a Sunday and was checked in quickly and efficiently. I was given helpful information for a short walking trip round Castelldefels.

The restaurant was able to give me vegetarian alternatives which were good.

The room was good with plenty of storage space and hangers, they even offer an electric kettle for those who want their morning tea or coffee in bed (I of course always travel with my own)

Breakfast was to my taste with yogurt, cheese and fresh vegetables.

One small peeve was the position of the reading light which was inconvenient to reach after finishing the pre sleep reading. There were CNN and BBC news channels on the TV but no entertainment.
The free WIFI was very good and hassle free.
