Hotel ANDRIA
Ranked #4 of 8 Hotels in La Seu d'Urgell
Reviewed 24 March 2013

Recommended this hotel by friends from La Seu and we were not disappointed. Stayed for our anniversary in 2009 and had marvellous time. Our room overlooked the picturesque square, the staff were brilliant all in all a wonderful holiday, made complete by the Festa Major which is an experience in itself. Having only just started reviewing felt that although we stayed a while ago, this hotel warranted a comment.

This clean and comfortable hotel with a courtyard entrance is conveniently located on the edge of the old quarter of la Seu d'Urgell. Our spacious room overlooked the quiet boulevard below the hotel. Restaurants and shopping are nearby. Because my wife is vegetarian we did not eat dinner in the restaurant of this hotel, but the breakfast was very nice. The staff were welcoming and helpful, directing us to free parking and to restaurants with vegetarian fare.

We were traveling by motorcycle and wanted a charming place close to the old town. The room we received overlooked the front courtyard, which was perfect. The location was excellent, with many boulevard wine bars and restaurants close by. The room was spacious and well appointed. Underground parking was also available for 11euros. The continental breakfast had plenty of the typical European offerings.

We stayed her for 2 night and it was great. Alfons who was the guy in charge was wonderful as was everyone who worked there. He helped us find a great hike in the National Park near there and arranged for a picnic as well. The room was lovely and the public areas were beautiful. The room we had faced a street and it was loud on the Saturday night we were there, but that happens in any in town or city. It's important to note that the restaurant in the hotel was truly amazing! We ended up eating there both nights because it was so good. This place was a great value in a lovely town.

We booked a room at Hotel Andria few months back as we received a Smart Box as a gift from friends.
Reception at the hotel was far from being professional; no indication on the main spots and attractions in La Seu D'Urgell, no welcome gift... (a 25cl bottle of cava was then given to us after check-out when we explained we did not see the "welcome gift").
Instead of being invited to stay in a romantic room we were offered to stay in a smoked room with twin-beds. Changing room was an option but we still had to stick to the twin beds.

If we can recommend their restaurant (excellent food and good service) you'd better stay at the Paradores if you plan to book one night in La Seu D'Urgell.
Hotel Andria is not the best-value in town and their are far many other places where to stay, don't waste your time, money and romantic Smart Box night as we did!

The central location in this small city was welcome. It was easy to walk to any site of interest to tourists. We had a one night stay here, en route to Andorra and Toulouse, France. The hotel had a terrific dinner menu, the set price options were excellent, the best dinner of our entire three week trip to Spain/France. Our room was of reasonable size, the bed was comfortable. We appreciated free wifi service here. We chose to park on the street rather than pay to park in the hotel, there seemed to be plenty of parking available adjacent to the hotel, and free until 10am. Service was generally quite good, especially at breakfast time. While seeming to be lost in time somewhat (except for the very modern, updated dining room), this only added to the charm. One word of caution, the elevator only goes from the ground level to the first floor reception/dining areas, otherwise one needs to use the stairs to the rooms.

Hotel looks a little worn on the outside, and the reception is small and spare. But receptionist was pleasant, responsive and helpful. The room and bathroom were modestly large, clean. Breakfast was included: usual ample continental breakfast choices. Parking was available for extra charge and in adjacent building; very tight curves in the garage. Elevator available to first floor reception level, but not to upper floors. Serviceable mid-range hotel for a stop-over, but nothing special.
