“Absolute nightmare, nothing at all to do”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

Me and two of my friends stayed here and were very disappointed. There is a pool which is okay. The food all day is terrible and there is nothing around for miles. We had to walk for 2 hours just to go to a supermarket and there is no entertainment at all. People are so unfriendly and look at you like your something stuck to their shoe, rooms are very small and don't look like they have been cleaned. There is lots more i could complain about but I will be here all day. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone unless your a homeless person.

Hotel reception is clean and looks quite inviting. We had an early flight so wanted to drop our luggage which the hotel had no problem with. However we were handed a key with an A4 keyring on it? When we got to the luggage room it was open with a spanish guy in there? He left so we secured the door and handed the key back to reception we told them the door was unlocked with a person in there but they seemed uninterested? They said the room would be ready at 12.30pm so quite helpful. Thats really where the helpfulness ended.
The hotel was only half occupied so we took the oppotunity to ask if we could keep the room longer on our departure day as our flight was at 10.15pm and we had to check out by 12pm. They said it would not be possible as our room was booked out on our leaving day? We decided to wait and see if the hotel was fully occupied the day before we left and ask again. We had booked in for 10 nights which cost nearly £1200.00. So sort of expected a bit more help.
Our room had twin beds pushed together but made seperately? It was clean but very basic, the pillows resemble cement bags to look at but were ok. We went to shower and found that the shower holder was missing so opted for the bath but this was so small you couldnt lie in it at all.
Still that was repaired the next day.

The towels were very disappointing thin and quite hard which when you have sun burn isnt helpful... I will upload a picture of the towels that were in our room.

This hotel caters for the Spanish 100%. The breakfast was so repetitive and quite tasteless with stale pastries, warm milk and same old day after day. No hot food available at all. A tea/coffee machine that takes for ever to give half a cup yield. So if you are expecting to get a simple thing like scrambled eggs or fresh cereal forget this hotel.

We had a few to many drinks one evening and were quite loud on our return to the hotel. The next morning we were ignored and they were quite rude to us on reception. One eveing out of 10 we didnt think to bad as we had had to put up with Mr & Mrs Spanish and their children running the halls knocking on doors and running away for days on end. There is always a lot of children in the reception area i think the bouncy castle that is out on the terrace is for the staff and locals children and its not very peaceful at all. The pool is very small but clean.

We did get to stay in our room for an extra 7 hours which cost 30 euros. We were informed of this the day before we were due to leave?

Will would never return to this hotel its over prices for what it actually offers. We had originally booked the Meridonial but trip advisor comments made us cancel and book here. After visting the Meridonial we really wish we had booked there as this is a very 2 star hotel and will never be anything else.

Our taxi driver said that its mainly used for short stays or when people are over to sign for property they are buying.

Room Tip: Dont stay in the Spanish Holidays

Stayed here with my husband in August 2013. We stayed room only and didn't eat in the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. This is a clean, bright, comfortable hotel close to the beach, restaurants and bars. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Just returned from a 12 night stay at the hotel guardamar I could not fault this hotel at all we had a great time. The hotel is spotless and the staff are very friendly, the pool area is small but the pool was great. I can not understand why it is only a 2 star as I would rate it more a 3 . The location is fantastic as it is right beside the beach and a short walk to bars and restuarants. Guardamar is a lovely quiet resort with one of he best beaches I have ever been too there was also a festival when we were there and lots going on which made our holiday even better. I would definately go back here and would reccomend to all .

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor up as you will have a lovely sea view.

Took my daughter for a well earned weekend in the sunshine, the Hotel Guardamar was just the ticket, very friendly and helpful staff, great location, sea view from every room, air con, we took our own kettle tea and sugar, the supermarket for milk is just a couple of blocks back. The pool was small but big enough for the hotel and very peaceful, until early evening both nights when a couple of Spanish families obviously known to staff arrived with their 6 very loud children playing football, got hit a few times with it. So went to the beach the next day. But we would defiantly go there again and recommend it.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view

Me and my lady stopped at The Hotel Guardamar for one night. Lovely hotel situated about 100 metres from the beach and also very close to restaurants and bars in the town. All staff were helpful and friendly during our stay. The room itself was a little tired and dreary but spotlessly clean which is what matters. We were on the 2nd floor which had a balcony with sea view. It also had air conditioning and a safe. Like most spanish hotels in this area there were no tea n coffee making facilities. Had a slight issue with a leaky shower but as only one night it wasn't a major problem. There was a small swimming pool which we didn't use, could imagine would be difficult to get a lounger at peak periods as they were full all the time we were there. Breakfast was fine with a good selection of meats, cheese, croissants etc. Overall a great stay and a hotel I'd recommend.

Just back from our week long holiday at the Hotel Guardamar and I would recommend it to anyone (hence this review). The food was very good, though we only ate at the restaurant twice due to the large number of other restaurants in the town. The room was large, clean and had a balcony with a sea view, which is a standard feature of all the rooms. A small fridge in the room was also very handy. The bathroom had the best shower I've ever used! The pool is very clean as is the adjoining bar which served lovely wine, beer and tapas. The staff were really friendly and were always happy to help. Everything you could want from a reasonably priced hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms are twin (though you can easily push the beds together) so ask for a double.
