“Not luxurious, just pleasant.”
Reviewed 17 February 2013

Hampshire Hotel Wesseling is a pleasant hotel in the village center. The hotel consists of 2 seperate buildings. One is called “De Brink Hotel” and the other one is called “Wesseling”. The first one is closest to the church with bells ringing every half hour.
We’ve stayed 3 nights in Hotel Wesseling and it was a pleasant stay. Our room was on the backside, groundlevel and we hardly heared the churchbells. The hotel served a 3 course diner and that was more or less okay. They also offer a smaller menu choice that can be used in the conservatory. Breakfast is great (buffet). Our bathroom had a strange smell and the mattrasses are a bit tired like the whole bedroom. Don’t expect design or other fancy stuff in your room, it’s just a room with a bathroom and separate toilet, spacious and clean. Flatscreen on the wall. Our central heating radiator made a terrible noise, like someone handling a jackhammer. Just turn it down. My best advise is: take it as it is. Enjoy and have long walks in the beautiful National Park “Dwingelderveld”. The hotel offers free private parking very near the hotel. Free wifi.
All interesting arrangements you’ll find on the internet can be booked directly with the hotel, no booking fee!!!!

Room Tip: rooms on the backside are quieter (ours was no. 4)

Good hotel. Nice rooms and qualified staff. The food (diner) is less than expected. Presentation is not good, taste is okay. Lunch and breakfast are good. Nice village, quiet and near to a very beautiful nature reserve. Yes, the churchbells ring also during the night. I slept through it though. And it is a beautiful churchtower to see.

A very nicely appointed hotel with comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant. We stayed 4 nights and were very satisfied.

The hotel doesn't have any off road parking but there is a fair bit of space out front and around the side. Dwingeloo is fairly quiet so it's not a problem. Internet acces is chargeable which isn't very good these days but their is a public PC in the lobby.

Room not at all like commercial pictures. My room was yellow, with one big closet glued to the walls all around. No free wifi. Food not very good. Every half hour churchbells from across the street. Two person room was two separate beds: beds were very light, so didn't stick together.location is excellent though: very beautiful surroundings.
