We stayed here at the end of a 3 week cycle trip and it was a lovely way to finish. The 'town house' type rooms are fairly spacious with tea and coffee facilities (not often found in Europe) and the outlook into the trees is very restful. Plenty of cycling and walking tracks around the area including the Kroller-Muller Museum and nearby Beekbergen. Book well in advance and rooms are good value, but otherwise its not such good value. If you are coming by bus there is a 1km walk, but its flat bitumen road. Tennis courts and swimming pool as well as big oval if you have a group and want to play ball games etc. We were a couple but looked great for families. Restaurant a bit on the expensive side but excellent food and service by friendly staff.

Room Tip: All rooms are separate from the service/restaurant area but car parks are close by. Most have some view of forest. Ground floor ones have little outdoor terrace and chairs. Upstairs no balcony to sit outside.

Ok if the weather is fine otherwise you can get drenched and muddy shoes walking from your room to the restaurant which is separately situated up many steps - so don't even think about it if mobility is a problem. Ok if you like the great outdoors but not if you are looking for the ambience of a comfortable hotel under a single roof. Ok if you have a young family that needs bags of space to scream, explore and run about - ours are now adults. Ok if you don't mind a very limited menu. Ok for free wifi everywhere. OK if you want to be in the middle of nowhere with masses of cycle routes but not if you travel by car and want easy access to your car - they have to be left in a communal car park situated in another clearing in the wood. Overall the hotel is ok but quite expensive and it was not for us - but there again cycling is not our way of life.

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms are better because they have a private patio

We drove to this setting from Amsterdam wanting to explore Zutphen. The stay and the town were terrific. The grounds were very pleasant and it seemed a great place to walk freely and explore. Internet access was too expensive but that was the case most places we visited. The hotel staff and decor were excellent. The breakfast buffet was terrific. Sleeping rooms were comfortable and roomy. The art work and designs were very pleasing and soothing. It is worth they money but it is not cheap.

Room Tip: Its a good place to walk if your destination is not too far.

We went for a relax weekend to this beautiful hotel and we love it! The national park is very beautiful and perfect to go biking, we rent the bikes on the hotel. If you love nature this is the perfect place.

Food was delicious and the staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful! The room is very basic and after and active day we went to the sauna. We will come back for sure.
