This a nice and friendly design hotel. The rooms are good, the pool is nice, the restaurant may however be too pricy for your appetite. I found so. But great for a drink and you can have a cheaper, and less refined, meal in town. Or town? Otterlo is really really boring so come for the nature here and the direct access to the museum.

An earlier reviewer described the hotel as an 'oasis'. I agree. It is a lovely little hotel, with excellent facilities, customer service and a really nice feel about it. Otterlo itself is also a lovely little village.

The breakfast we had was one of the best we had in Europe and we also made good use of the fantastic swimming pool and gym.

The hotel is literally on the doorstep of the Hoge Veluwe so was a great spot to explore the park from.

Would definitely stay here again - preferably for longer than the one night we had!

We had been in a few cities before arriving in the small village of Otterlo and were so happy to experience the trees and outdoor feeling of Hotel Sterrenberg. It is located right near the entrance to the Hoge Veluwe National Park and a fabulous property. We were warmly welcomed told about the serving times for breakfast and the hours for the dining room. The hotel is modern and decorated in warm earthy colors with lovely touches of contrasting decor. The deluxe room was spacious with a small sofa and a chair, robes and slippers were provided and bathroom amenities. Also, a bottle of water on a tray with glasses. The towels and condition of the robes seemed out of character for the other offerings and surroundings. The bedding was lovely and a very comfortable bed. The bathrooms are beautiful with double designer type sinks and a bathtub. There is a "library" seating area on the second floor where you can read and have tea or coffee, which is provided. There is also a cold drink machine for a fee. Dinner was fabulous and the presentation perfect. Breakfast was plentiful with all the usual European fare including hot scrambled eggs. An coffee machine is available to make your own personal type of coffee that you might prefer; black, with milk, etc. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night, I would have loved to stay for three.

We spent 2 nights here in September. The swimming pool and spa were pristine and spacious, the restaurant serves fine meals in pleasant surroundings. The chef´s menu for two cost more than the room, but that was in part because we received a good deal for booking last minute. The games area upstairs has free excellent coffee and tea service. The bar area has a unique modern gas fireplace and a grand piano.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Bicycle rental was 10 euros. Much better to rent a high quality bike than to use the white museum bikes in the national park nearby. From Sterrenberg we went to the picturesque Hampshire Hotel in Zutphen--a disappointing change.

The Hotel Sterrenberg is top-notch. The hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with a nature theme that trends more toward hip than earthy. Our room, though not overly large, was very comfortable and it was nice to have a balcony to sit on (even though we overlooked the parking lot). Good bath and tolietries. Fantastic terrace and dining area (both inside and out). Food was excellent, especially the starters. Attentive service everywhere. If you have your bathing suit take advantage of the pool and the wellness centre -- fantastic sauna, steam rooms, etc. Spent an hour in there after five days straight of cycling. Loved it! Also, a safe place was provided where you could lock up your bikes for the night. We only stayed one night but I could've happily stayed longer. Just a stone's throw from the National Park Hoge Veluwe and the Kroller-Muller museum.

My partner & myself chose this hotel after reading the positive reviews on here, and due to it being located very close to the Kröller-Müller museum.
Our room was clean and well lit with comfortable furniture.
Whilst there, we also ate in the hotel restaurant; the starter and desserts were delicious with some very innovative touches. However, we were both disappointed with the main course, a tagliatelle dish supposedly flavoured with a local cheese, although neither of us could detect the cheese! Due to this, it left us feeling that the meal had been a little expensive.
Facilities within the hotel are very good; I swam in the pool whilst there (towels provided) and we sat in the library on a couple of occasions and made use of the complimentary hot drinks available. WThere are also some nice touches, such as art books available for perusal around the indoor seating area. Bicycles are also available for hire.
The breakfast buffet consisted of a good variety of quality products, with fresh juice being served at your table on arrival.
One thing I feel I must mention is the staff. At all times, we experienced excellent customer service which was friendly yet professional. Prior to leaving, we asked a female receptionist for some travel advice regarding locations to visit within The Netherlands; both she and her husband went out of their way to assist us, writing a list of potential locations to visit and seemed genuinely keen to help.
I would definitely recommend the hotel but would particularly highlight the excellent customer service & great location.

The hotel is located in a small town Otterlo just at the entrance to the National Park Hoge Veluwe. We spent there 2 nights with out small baby and we liked it a lot. The standard room had enough space to put a baby bed (baby friendly hotel) and the service was very good and kind.

The restaurant is definitely a place to check; food was good but rather on the expensive side. The improvement suggestion would be to solve a significant number of flies in the lobby and the restaurant.

There is also sauna and swimming pool. Finish sauna was very hot as it should be - proper.

It is a good base to visit a park and several very interesting museums (there are plenty of maps and tips available in the hotel), e.g. Kröller-Müller Museum, Open air museum or Airborne Museum.

Fully recommended!
