Stayed for a weekend (Fri-Mon) together with my parents, sister and her two children, which was generally OK. Temperature in the house was probably too hot, but for me cold at nights in the bedroom next to the front door, as I got a sore throat every morning when I got up. I did not particularly sleep well, but it was cozy throughout the weekend. We had good self-catered meals and the dishwasher machine was coming in handy. In the evenings we either read, watched TV and/or played games. On Saturday we went to the indoor swimming pool, which was pleasantly warm and not too busy. On Sunday we treated ourselves with a thermal spa, which we enjoyed well together with the crisp, but nice weather outside. I had been a bit disappointed with additional charges for Turkish bath, solarium, sauna and massage, as they were kind of all-in there. Advice for cleaning the house was also useful, but you have to stick with their recommendations, otherwise you would be charged if you did not (fully) do the works you have been asked to do, unless you had already been paid extra upfront for this extra service.

Room Tip: Limited use of plug-ins. Check cleanliness, working of appliances and presence of everything upon arrival, and report at once if works had been carried out badly and/or things are missing, otherwise you will be charged for expenses upon departure.

Having been several times before in the old part of the park we tried one of the new villa's in the newly developed part of the park called Residence Klein Vink. Compared to the old style bungalows on Klein Vink these villa's are something completely different . Everything new and modern, very spacious, 2 bathrooms and even a own sauna.

As we traveled with my parents and small children we decided to stay in one of the child friendly villa's which is utilized with a infant bed. We had chosen a 6 person villa type KVR6KB number 303 which is located right on the edge of the national park resulting in free views over the lake and wood. It has a large private garden where you can enjoy the tranquility and take in the fresh air.

Arcen is close to all kind of activities and sights. We can definitely recommend the thermal bath which is located at the entrance of the park.

We had a mid-week break in a small bungalow. It was incredibly good value. We specified a non-smoking bungalow so we did not have the problems noted elsewhere. Our bungalow was spotless and really well equipped. We overlooked a small lake which was very peaceful. The staff were helpful and the facilities seemed very good on the park. We went ti the Thermalbad (on the site but paid for separately) which was lovely. The sauna part is naturist though so be aware of that as the signs are all in Dutch or German.

This was our first stay at a vacation park, so we were not sure what to expect. The park was beautiful. The "bungalow" was dark, shabby and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Uck. Better than a tent, but only because of the rain. New, flat screen television, but tv wasn't why we were there. The accomodation viewed, we went up to the "restaurant" for dinner. Outside was a trampoline for the kids - with a cost of 1 euro for 7 minutes. Dinner was on a par with a motorway layby and the "fresh fruit" and "fresh vegetables" listed on the menu were miniscule morsels fresh from a tin. We ended up with 18 euros per person for a plate of chips. Mini golf was next, but that was extra. So was the tennis court and the basketbal court and the paddle boats. So were the sheets and the towels and the service to clean the bungalow when we left. The swimming pool was the only amenity included in the rather hefty price we paid to stay at the park. For the total we spent on the nickle and dime extras, we could have stayed in a lovely hotel in one of the charming nearby villages. Next time, we'll do just that.

We had a mid-week vacation in the Klein Vink and it was as expected. No thrills but also no unpleasant surprises. The houses where very well equipped. Satellite TV, fridge, micro wave etc. You can rent everything from bed sheets to a bicycle but you can also bring your own. No problem there. At the venue is a supermarked (Spar), a restaurant and bar. Quality is acceptable and the prices are conform where you are.
On the venue is also a Thermal Spa with a hot water well and this is worth a visit. Reduction is offered from guest of Klein Vink.
