We reserved for 7 people but in spite of it being a relatively quiet evening our table was not ready. Staff throughout the evening made multiple (failed and annoying) attempts at humour (please, do not mock the vegetarians saying their 'condition' is not your fault and then pretend to bring them only french fries because it's all you have for them, it's just not funny).
We ordered multiple different dishes. And despite our initial reservations, all of us were impressed. Every dish was really nice. Asparagus starter with ham from the oven was just right. Asparagus 'kroket' was surprisingly refined (parsley sauce way too strong though!). Main courses all had balanced taste and texture. My 'rare' steak was cooked just right. If the taste of cloves in the red-wine sauce could be considered overpowering by some, the fennel in the side salad matched that taste rather well. The asparagus-spinach quiche was pleasant. All deserts were very good. Even the classical 'dama blanche' with home-made hot chocolate sauce on the side was done well. House wines were ok.
